    Coolant leak

what part are you trying to remove? the t'stat housing? the URBH can be done engine complete, if you changed the h2o pump you know what's involved there. did you change the gasket to the housing? use gasket sealer? pull the intake off so you can get a better look back there, when the hose leaks it is deceiving as to what you think is leaking. You can unbolt the intake and just lean it back (carefully) to get a look without unhooking everything. if you are wanting to get to the t'stat housing you will have to remove cam covers.

  4. we don't call them stealerships for nothing, but obviously, the dealer is brand specific so will always (we hope) be more knowledgeable about your vehicle. however, the only OEM parts i have EVER used on my trucks is the studs for the exhaust manifolds. If you can do it yourself, i highly suggest it, any shop will charge you tons of labor as anything you do on a pathy takes time lol.... and lots of shops don't really like to mess with them, and if they do, they charge you for their trouble. do you have a knowledgeable friend who can help you? that is your best bet. if a garage gets you the parts they will charge more, a stealership will not allow you to supply your own parts. you can change a radiator in a pathy in 10 minutes (no joke, i've done it)...
  5. try to find a friend who DOES have the simple tools to help you with this, really, a mechanic will rape you on labor charges. You only need a few tools to do the job, alan headed socket, screwdrivers and 10mm socket or wrench and a couple other wrenches. the gaskets themselves are only $6 each, and, if i was to guesstimate what a garage would charge you, i'd say $200.

^^^ upper radiator bypass hose (official name) here's a pic of my engine with a good view of the bypass hose. it's a $5 hose, PITA to change. When you DO change it, also change the clamps to the type I have on mine.. much easier to tighten when the engine is complete. If you get the hose from anyone other than Nissan (I got mine from Kragen), you may have to trim the hose a little, they are not an exact fit.
  7. ^^^ what B said. ima dudette
  8. on mine it is the original x over pipe... highly modified. the headers were also modified as they had to be lengthened for the lift, then the flanges were re welded on. i had the x over pipe lengthened and bent to tuck up out of the way as much as possible for less damage wheeling. (they have been known to get damaged as in original for the x over pipe hangs just BELOW the level of the cross member) You have to keep in mind i have 7" of lift (4" SL).... so modification IS absolutely required.... as well as King is also an auto.
  9. Videos of my kids http://youtu.be/VVCD2hvo9b4 http://youtu.be/0Cpe-NCz9sU Mini Me's exhaust http://youtu.be/B_7UcfbgiSM I have more vids on my youtube slickpoose1
  10. bleh, fine, i'll play...... Mini Me when a year after I got her... went from the 215's to 31`'s and a JGC coil lift. had uber stereo and thorley headers with 2.5" pipe to a flowmaster 50 series muffler. Mini Me with King as she was when I sold her in Dec 2009 King (with mini me) the day I brought him home 7 yrs ago King now (his build info is in my sig) my friend Steve is in the pic.... this was taken sunday the 8th at the end of the day
  11. as above ^^^ ...bad shocks and coils in the rear, sagging t-bars up front and back spacing are the major causes of rubbing with stock tires/wheels.
  12. none of my pathy's (88, 90, 91 & 92's) came with a SS...... but with my '91 being lifted, he now has a dual SS set up. Easy enough to install one of you want that little bit extra, but not required if you're stock height. personal preference... and check that your center link isn't worn out, that will aid the "following the road" syndrome.
  13. X2! I run Doug Thorley headers (best you can get) and 2.5" SS pipe through to a magnaflow muffler on my '91 auto, and a Flowmaster 50 series to my '92 5 speed. mini me sounds evil good, king sounds good but there's only so much you can do with an auto lol. I have HP gains with both trucks, King more noticeable power gains(I built Mini Me a new engine that roars & helped with the HP), I had to have King's headers modded extensively to fit where i wanted them, and from cat back, both exhaust systems are custom built to my specs. There are pics of King's build in my photobucket album, and Tungsten has been using them to build his exhaust similar. I also have video of the sound of both exhausts. If i was to throw out a HP gain number, i'd say 10-15hp. but the fact these engines thrive on being able to breathe and fart... and running headers cures the snapping stud issue and allows our engines to breathe and fart freely....... the Thorley's cost more, but I swear by them. (both my sets are chrome nickle plated)
  14. I got Mini Me (92XE), my first Pathy Sept 4th 2003 (love of my life), followed by King CaCa (91SE) on Sept 1, 2004, followed by Piglet (88SE) on May 3, 2005, followed by Shadow (90XE)in August of 2007....... yeah, I had all 4 until 2009 lol. now i only have king caca :-( nope, i don't love Pathy's.......
  15. nope, they didn't come factory with amps. and yes, ABS box like Adam said
  16. ok, technically it was yesterday.... but I changed outer driver door handle, fixed the window, and decided his engine really does need a good steam cleaning.
  17. hmm. in the past week.... managed to break outer driver door handle, paint the frame and other goodies underneath, cleaned my air filter, cleaned inside my truck, installed new floor mats.... and today? i am going crazy wild on his ass and poking a hole in a tennis ball and stuff that on his cb antenna so when i have a tail wind, my antenna can STOP smacking the crap out of my tailgate leaving rub marks
  18. X3 glad to hear you guys are ok, but my thoughts and prayers tot hose less fortunate :-(

  23. yeah, I was skeptical and called... here is the latest. I just scanned and emailed back the waiver... I also suggested she come to NPORA to find Pathys Thanks for taking an interest in this project. Basically, the idea of this campaign is to show lots of footage of Nissan Pathfinders by using consumer videos that are posted on YouTube. Attached you will find a release which is pretty much giving us permission to use your video for our ad campaign. Please read it over and sign as soon as possible. If all looks good and you have signed the release you can either just scan it and email it back to me or fax it over to the fax number below (no need for a cover letter, it will come straight to my inbox). The fastest way the better if you don’t mind…time is of the essence and I would love to include your video in this segment. It is possible that you will be able to receive a copy of this final product, however we are not quite sure if it will be possible yet. Please be sure to include both pages in return and please be sure to call me if you have any further questions. Thanks again!
