what is a CV joint and how much to replace it

i got inspired to fix this problem after reading this post, it was east 1-2-3 i just simply scratched the some of the crap off the metal surface between the metal pins and my high beams work once again.

I get a weird clicking while just taking regular turns, its not extremely loud, but it clicks 2 to 3 times during the duration of moving the wheel. It only clicks when im moving the streering wheel, which i guess is the begining of a normal turn.

wow i think that explantion makes more sense than any that i have seen, just becuz i slammed on the breaks the other day, and all that night it stoped screeching.

Its really starting to piss me off, because the screech only happens after about 15 min of driving and its sooo loud that it turns heads, like nails on a chalk board but with different pitches. Ive tried so many things to diganos the problem. heres my data. Only happens at speeds of 10-35 mph, reving the engine has no change on the sound, i turned off the engine going down hill and the screech still was going. ANYHELP plz, it makes my Pathfinder sound like a crappy car.

I can stop, like they are brand new brakes, but the second part is true, it does sound like nails on metal or whatever. Whats a stuck caliper, and would a stuck caliper only make noise when warmed up?

well it actually stops when i apply the break pads, and it doesnt do it over 40 mph

Do Pathfinders have a warning mechanizm on the brakes that makes a really loud screeching noise when they are very low?

ah, ive looked for the fuse for days all i kind find is the left and right headlight fuse, anyone know where it is?

I was just wondering, is their a seperate fuses for high beams in 94 pathfinders, and my fog lights refuse to work is their a fuse for that to?

hey guys, thanks for the suggestions i will go get the fluid checked, and i yeah i plan on keeping it ive had it for 2 weeks and i couldnt love it anymore than i already did the first day i got it. Nothing is more fun than running over curbs and cutting off people in the school parking lot full of civics. now all i need is to fix this transmission thingy and get me some sort of life and new rims

my dad was telling something about the transmission bands need re-adjucting or something like that, i wonder if worth doing that or just replacing the thing as whole, because its got 140000 miles on it

On my 94 Pathfinder, everything is fine except for when the auto tranny shifts from 2nd to 3rd, it seems like it loses power for like 2 seconds and then shifts. Its almost like i can feel the gear go out and the engine just says at that rev for like 2 seconds, and then the 3rd gear gets thrown back in. I dont think this is normal, and maybe it just needs ajustment, because all the gears (drive reverse, 1st and 2nd) engage fine. PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT!
