  1. Yeah, isnt it bad? I took it from my office, lol. I may get it dirty tonight.
  2. Sounds good due, what muffler does it use? I know my VQ will sound a bit different, but I'm still deciding what kind of muffler to use when I fab up my system.
  3. They improved the stance of the truck soooo much, and I cnat wait to do some wheelin with it. Its been far too long since ive been in the mud. I also saw that the part that needs to be "machined" on the wheel to clear manual hubs, is a tiny little "lip" that can be taken care of with a die grinder in about 5-10 minutes per wheel. So those will get ordred this week. While I'm doing that I suppose its time to do a transmission fluid change and front/rear axle lube... probably brake pads too... then I will be doing some sort of rear spring soloution, either the AC HD 1/2" springs or Air-Lift bags. after that will be exhaust fab time. the only pic I have at this point is possibly the worst camera-phone pic I have ever taken:
  4. My dad has an auto '98 Pathfinder and I have an auto '03. while his VG is quite decent and gets the job done, I like (and so does he) the VQ considerably more, just wayyy more get-up and go. He has 180k miles on his and i have 114k on mine and havent had to do a thing to mine. He has had to fix exhaust leaks (manifold), replace the distributor (bearings were shot), and had to do the timing belt twice now. I do have to pull my intake manifold apart and secure the throttle valve screws but the VQ doesnt have a T-belt or a distributor. we get pretty similar gas mileage too.
  5. Nice truck. I need to find one of those grills to retrofit to my '03, I hate the "single thick bar" mine has. 5 speed is cool too, part of me wishes mine were, but part of me doesnt mind auto in teh SUV, lol.
  6. LOL, in addition to tht trade, I also have a bridge for sale!
  7. yeah, thats what my audi called for. its not a big deal, you just have to change it every 2 years.
  8. Damnit. Now I wish I had those instead. Oh well. looks like I'll be doing some machine work. Or does someone want to trade me a set of those wheels for my 6-spokes?
  9. yeah, and theure sickeningly small IMO. they seem just a bit bigger than 1" diam. I cannot wait to fab up 2.25" pipes from the outlet flanges on the cats, back to a dual inlet muffler (not sure what kind I want, thinkin maybe flowmaster, theyre really durable, and sound good) with a 3" outlet.
  10. did you have to enlarge the center bore in those also? or do those not need it? if you did, how did you go about it?
  11. if you have a V6...before your muffler you do :-)
  12. so the tranny in my '03 is a RE4R01A? I saw that it was produced through '01, but they probably just produced a ton of them and used them through '04. I am considering just getting the IPT modified solenoid. I guess its a known failure point, so might as well replace it,a nd might as well replace it with the better one. IPT solenoid it also seems like a less involved job than a shift kit (which according to summit racing doesnt include instructions) and is the same price: Transgo reprogramming kit at summit But either way I'll have to do some more research and make a few calls.
  13. Zimmerman rotors are fine. Anything "quiet" or "low dust" is going to sacrifice some performance. I ran AXXIS metal master pads and they were kinda loud, semi dusty and ate my rotors, but man... they slowed my A4 from 150 mph pretty damn well. As for brake fluid, motul 600 is pretty badass, ut I think it might be DOT 5?
  14. nobody? does everyone just run manuals here? any of you auto guys do anything to beef up the tranny? other than frequent fluid changes? Whats a reccomended fluid? I used to run B&M trick shift in my monte carlo, but I dont know how compatible it is with the nissan.
  15. 1/4" isnt too bad. Was that the diameter? or the radius? Like I said I have access to a lathe (and a bridgepor at work too) and am getting new tires put on anyway so it shouldnt be too bad to machine the hole slightly larger to fit. Right?
  16. Its considered a type 89. The chassis is like a B3 but the fenders (flare size) and oter things are more like a B4 its kinda a 'tweener. I dont have many pics of my pathy, and its ll stock right now (tires should be in friday) this is all I got for now. Just an '03 SE. it has heated leather and climate control. I have an intake cone filter plate and the tube. I just need some couplers and a decent filter (the last one killed my MAF) I'm thinkin an oilless HKS style one with a pre-filter sock around it.
  17. I know its a crazy old post, but... if My '03 SE has it, im sure your '03 LE does.
  18. I'm finally modding my '03 pathfinder. I'm getting the 29091 warn hubs ($140 shipped, woot!) and want to amke sure they will work with my stock wheels, I dont have access to the pathy at the moment, and even if I did, its too damn cold to oull the wheel off right now! lol. Anyway, has anyone run this wheel with them? I found in searching that you need 4.25" center bore? Hope I have it. if not, think I can have them machined? I have access to a lathe.... lol. thanks for any info!!
  19. ah ok, they are the same rate? cool. yeah I thought about airbags, but I'm sorta of a "set it and forget it" sort of person (hold the rotisserie comments, lol) so I think springs might be a better option for me. I will look into the air-lift's tho.
  20. My '03 SE has a rear glass "pop" on the driver door right next to the gas flap button. you hook your finger under it and pull.
  21. Yeah it woulda been really really cool. They are rare (less than 1800 imported over 2 model years) I'll have one again. And I loved my A4, I miss it alot, I got T-boned in it...
  22. you need more pipes meng! esp a y-pipe and I would def replace that puny dual pipes too, its embarrisingly small. this is the cheapest place ive found for mandrel bends: Racing Soloutions
  23. inside tire wear can DEF be bad ball joints. check them. I put it up ona lift/stands and try to cmpress the ball into the socket usinga big channel lock pliers, it there is movement, theyre shot.
  24. Yeah, I sorta wish mine were a 5 speed. if (when?) I ever blow up the auto I'll likely do the conversion. as for a supercharger, it wouldnt be too hard to rig it up im sure. the blocks are the same so the mount would work then it would just be figuring out accessories if they arent the same layout. the hardest aprt would be tuning... I am sure it is quite different from the pathfinder to the 350z, and a custom tune would be pretty expensive. I wnat to talk to the local dyno shop and see what he has to say... Guys name is Tony chick and he does WONDERS for audis/VW/Porsche cars, I even think I ahve some free dyno time because I sold him a turbo manifold for really cheap a few months back. Although I think the best way to go would to be to get an eaton and fab up/modify the stock lower manifold to accept it, and use a boost refrencing FPR and a custom tune or just go ghetto and use a rising rate FPR and tune that ona dyno with a wideband. Oh if I only had the time/money.
