  1. Welcome to the board from another newbie! lm
  2. I was wondering the same thing, will this work? It would be nice to have the spare step to get to the roof rack! Speaking of roof rack and rails, who has the best complete system rail, cross rails, and racks? I have a nake roof and would like to add a rack to the roof. Its seen that the two company that everybody is talking about don't sell the rails(tracks) or I just missed it! lm
  3. Hey Diesel and Mr Pickle, Thanks guys, That why we "newbie" ask these dumb questions after doing some research that some old the vet already know. I would have missed 1.5 lift springs. I saw it and thought it was a little weird but didn't think anything about it. You are right, what the point of lifting a truck if you are only going to lift it 1.5? I want to go with a total of 6" when I finished with the truck but I think that I will go with only a 3" body lift up until I see that I'm having a ground clearance problem. Here is a link to the page that I got the info from! http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...a70cbb3b31a20b4 Thanks for pointing out the fault in this kit! LM
  4. Thanks Guys for the info. looks like I going to have to start other to do list.. At least this to do list isn't going to cost me as much as the one for my xtreme.. lm
  5. Okay guys another question from a newbie! What do you really need to lift the front end of a pathy? I know that you need the Upper Control Arms but do you need to replace the torsions or add ball joint spacers? (I know in sport truck world you can just change spring or control arm or spindles or chance all three depending on how low and what type of ride you want.) Do you have to do anything to the front axle or drive shaft? I figure that the rear end is pretty much easy just going with JGC Coils. (that took me a little to figure out what JGC was then afterwards it was like ) Kind of like finding the arrow in the fedEX logo. All I want right now is a 3" lift suspension lift. I have found some parts on 4x4parts.com and was wondering also if anyone has gotten any from there and if these are good prices for what you are getting. upper control arms for 199.95 and torsion bars for $189.95 but also have kits ranging from 694.95 for Complete suspension package includes 3" custom suspension lift with 1.5" lift coils, 4 Rancho RS5000 shocks, after-market torsion bars with 30% higher spring rate and idler arm brace. to $824.95 I know that I'll probably be back with some questions about lifting the pathy with a body lift and what problem everybody ran into lift their pathy!! ??? Thanks for the help lm
  6. notlonf, Welcome to the board from another sport truck invader. I got my 87 Pathfinder last year and got bit by the off road bug... Didn't think that I could love anything but my little chevy. But the pathy is coming a great mistress.. lm
  7. I had the same problem with my 87 and I went thru two HU thinking that I had a bad HU. so I wired it around the harness including the speaker lead. Right or wrong mine works just fine. Something that should have taken me about 15 minutes turned out to be an all day job. including two trips to circuit city. The best thing is to grab a test light and start testing to make sure that all the wire match up..
  8. Hey Jonesy, Downstate boy giving a shout to you and mzxtreme. I know that I'm further that 75 miles but just wanted to say that you aren't alone here on the board.. Have you looked in Wisconsin for trails outside of Rockford(not sure how that is from ya)? I think there a couple down this way but haven't been yet.. I'm trying to hook up with the 4 wheel club down here and get my pathy back up to trail condition... Let me know if you find anything.
  9. Hey Dag & Stat, Thanks for the ideas... I got my front end raised back to being level with the rear end by readjusting the torsion bars. They aren't adjusted all the way up but I don't think that I can get anymore out of it. At least I think now I can fit 31's under it now... I think that I will probably look into the JGC Springs and A-arms and then the body lift. I want to get at least 2 to 3 inches to start but I know that I will want to raise it more down the road. I started the same way with my xtreme I was happy with the way it sat but now I lower it 2.5 more inches and maybe a year down the road I put it on the ground. So I'll have one truck that I can fall into as falling out of the other. Thanks again
  10. Hey guys and gals, I have a few questions and was wondering if you all had any ideas for me! And please remember I'm new to the 4 wheelin' world! My first Question is; which is one is better to do a Suspension lift or a body lift? I want to do a body lift so I can get bigger tires under it. I looking to put 31 or maybe 33 under her but she still is my daily driver during the week but on the weekends I want to be able to get to my favorite hunting and fishing spots and a few mud holes. My second question is and this might sound dumb too but what is front end height and the rear height suppose to be? I measured right behind the front tire and it was 12.5" from the ground to the bottom seam of the rocker panel and 14" for the rear? is that standard from the factory (a sport rake look)? I looked at my bump stop on the front and the a-arms were down on them. I got them off a little bit by putting on taller sway bar bolts (I guess that what that was) Do I need to adjusted the Torsion Bars or will a set of new shocks (I'm not sure how old the shocks are, they could be from the factory) bring the front end back up? The third question is what shocks would you all recommend replacing the stock shocks with? And I think this will be the final Question of the day? I have 235/75r15 Cooper Discovery HT on the it with the stock factory 15x6 chrome rims. Can I fix a set of 31's (31/12.5R15??) on those rims? and how much taller are they than the 235/75? Thanks for taking time to read this and helping me out. Michael
  11. Hey all, My name is Mike but you can call me lil Mike. Two Years ago I got a loan to buy my cousin Pathfinder for my gf because she had poor credit and needed a good vehicle to drive her and my future child around in. Needless to say last year wasn't very good at all and I had to repo the truck .. Which was too easy, she had left the keys under the seat. Boy I was called everything under sun that you can think of. But anyway TMI I know.. I'm coming from the world were if the frame isn't scrapping the ground its not low enough. So other words, I own a low rider or sport truck which is 2001 Chevrolet Xtreme which I'm tricking out which is the truck that I show, and I have a 1986 Yamaha Virago which I had repainted Red and Black somewhat match my Xtreme. On to the Pathfinder. She is a 1987 with 87,000 miles on it. She is pretty clean for a 87, she just has a little rust under the rear hatch and on suspension. The interior looks brand new. She replaces my Xtreme as my daily driver but gets as much lovin' as the Xtreme. Between those two trucks and the bike, the auto care supplier just love me. I havent done too much it yet but I'm starting on it. I did replace the stereo with some of the equipment that I didn't use in my xtreme (actually couldn't fit into the Xtreme). I would like to raise it at least 2-3 with a body kit and then maybe another 2 to 3 with a suspension kit.. After that I probably will be need to get some 31 or 33. If any one knows where I can get a good luggage rack, nerf bars for it? please let me know. you can Email me at xtremechevy@sbcglobal.net. So If I ask some dumb Questions, just chalk it up to a low rider trying to climb out of the weeds in a Pathfinder. Michael
