Go to google and type in "Nissan Pathfiner" for images. I found tons of nice flexing and "logo" style images. I can email them if you want but I just went to google - but it would be better to have a flex from an actual NPORA member. ~Jason

Hey all, Well I'm going back to Nissan on Monday to fix the "popping" noise coming from the front end (most likely the suspension). I was there yesterday and they said it was the front right sway bar. They replaced the bar and I heard the noise when I got home. So long story short, I am going back to those f_ers on Monday morning. I have to reproduce the noise for the tech for the 100th time. What should I have them look at next? -thnkboutit- 1. Torsion bar shifting against frame? 2. Loose front axle pivot bolts? 3. Brakes? 4. UCA and LCA bushings? 5. Crossmember to frame bolts? 6. Upper and lower ball joints? I want them to look at all 6, but does anyone have a starting point? Thanks, ~Jason

Nope! Still working on it every freaking weekend. Sorry for the delayed post. ~Jason

knocking noise from passenger front.

hey man. Well the noise is not gone - so I have to contact Nissan tomorrow bc i said they could only fix it if the sway bar was 100% of the problem - so I will keep you posted! ~Jason -
What would be cool, is if we designed a long sleeve shirt to have "NPORA" written down the arms. Hopefully im not going overboard - not sure what prices are like so far. ~Jason

knocking noise from passenger front.
jrvanas replied to jroddvette's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I brought my car to Nissan this morning to get a free 100 point inspection (lets see how many things they want me to fix :contract: ) Anyway, the real point of this post is to tell you that the popping noise I'm hearing was coming from the Right front sway bar. Hopefully this is your problem too. ~Jason -
Red-finder, I have had the same problem on my 2001 and have not been about to find the problem. I have two noises: 1. A high pitch whistling. From the post I have made I think its the bearings. 2. The popping noise from the front end. I have reduced the problem and believe it is the torque on the front end bolts. When I took the car to Nissan he tightened everything and I think he actually over tightened it. I brought the pathy to a friend who re-torqued the connection to the LCA and itr got much better. I think I just need the whole front end re-torqued to solve the problem. ~jrvanas

No smell last night or this morning on the way to work. Wonder if I just got stuck behind a tar truck or something and did not realize it?? Too paranoid about my baby! ~jrvanas

Let me look at my usual parking spot and see if I see any oil leaks. Thanks for the heads up - will update everyone. ~jrvanas

Hey everyone, When I went to lunch today I had this burning smell in my car. It seemed to go away after a while and did not come back when I drove back to work. I just changed the oil about 500 miles ago and everything seemed normal when changing. There is plenty of coolant in the radiator. Any ideas? I will let people know if I smell it once I drive home from work this afternoon? ~jrvanas

Runnerman, Where are you going in October? I'm in Mass and might be interested if it's "open to the public" and fits my schedule. ~jrvanas

Where to mount Sirius and CB radios?
jrvanas replied to Gorilla Man's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I am doing the same. My bose radio "blew up" so I am removing both the head unit and the 6 disc changer. I am replacing the headunit with a Alpine unit and the 6 disc will be repalced with the CB. Should have it instaleld in a week or two so I can have pics.... ~jrvanas -
They tried to steal your truck recently or in the past? Hope all works out... ~jrvanas

Well the heat shield can only do so much - as well as the body of the car and carpet. Is the heat really hot? I just a little warmer then you would like? ~jrvanas

Wow - what a story - and I thought my car problems were bad! Good luck to them all... Hopefully they all got up and knowing atleast they were ok - I'm assuming they are all ok?? ~jrvanas

That product looks very sketchy to me. The image is so dark you cannot even tell what you are buying! ~jrvanas

Looks like they are just breather hoses. No big deal. ~jrvanas

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I re-torqued the connection to the suspension and it took some of the noise away. I think I have to re-grease and re-torque the whole front end. ~jrvanas

Hahaha. I had a 90 Jeep Wrangler for a while. Have to say - it sure can burn good donuts in the snow. Not sure what else the jeep was good for...let me think... ...still thinking... I'll get back to you in a couple years... ~jrvanas

Thanks so much - was trying to figure out how I could test this. I was going to pop up on jack stands but that was too unsafe in my mind. I will give this a try on the way to work tomorrow - hopefully not too much traffic. Wait I live in boston - I guess I will try in out works parking lot - lol Thanks again, ~jrvanas

Thanks man. I looked under the rear seat and I have: 1> Jack 2> Jack lift tool (bar) 3> pouch w/ gray steel cup (prob for spare removal) and lug wrench Should I have anymore tools? Some people said they had tools for their spark plugs. Thanks again man (manual does not say a thing!) ~jrvanas
-
I will look around a little. My owners manual says nothing about the spare - but does have details if its mounted on the back. Shrug - I will look some more. Thanks ~jrvanas
