  1. There are no "heat-issues" with un-coated headers...especially for lower-performance vehicles like our pathfinders. In higher-power and race applications, there is an advantage to coated headers because they keep the heat down under the hood... Most of us that get the coated headers do it for the anti-rusting properties....(and OK, I admit it, BLING :X ). Z BTW- There are usually fittament issues with the pace-setter, you might want to make sure that they will fit before you spend $$ getting them ceramic coated.
  2. If you have not purchased the the Pace-setters yet, I'd reccomend the Thorley Headers. You can get them at Summit already ceramic coated. Z
  3. vidro-- I was just kiddin buddy....we can talk about synthetics here Z
  4. ...now wait a minute, this is MY thread about clutches! j\k carry on Z
  5. Good tip...how can I copy-cat you? (where can I get those parts?) Z
  6. That's basically what I was wondering too... I am now quite where you are yet, but hope to see some big H #'s if\when the L&P Supercharger comes out. Z BTW- Do you mind if I ask how much the Labor $$ was to install the cams?
  7. OK...5 quarts of GL-4... anyone else use the Centerforce or Exedy clutches? Thanks, Z
  8. I have the exact same problem. Cruise never worked too well in my pathy anyways, so I guess I am not in a rush to fix it. Z
  9. My throw-out bearing is telling me that it is ready to go. I am now shopping for clutches. I am currently only street-driving my pathy, however, things may change in the future. I may drive her in the sand if I move to Hawaii, or if I move back out west, I may be driving on snowpack often with a snowmobile trailer. I am also considering L&P's supercharger if it becomes a reality. ...So, do I need a super-duper clutch or will OEM be fine...with the extra power I might have with the supercharger? Options>> From AC: Centerforce I Centerforce II Centerforce Dual Friction or: Exedy Clutch Kit on eBay note: this exedy kit includes the t\o bearing and pilot bearing or: would a Z31 (300zx) clutch fit? Is the dual-friction clutch really 3 time better (and more $) than a regular clutch? What is the tranny fluid grade? 5 quarts, right? Thanks for your opinions.... Z
  10. Yeah....I have my heart set on a custom mandrel-bent system... I thought that mandrel-bent piping had to be ordered... Who is doing your exhaust in Charlotte and how much? I think I am going to go with a high-flow Spin-Tech cat and muffler. Z
  11. He probably diddn't charge you enough in the first place. $240 is a steal. I am more than happy to pay an honest price of $400 ... comared to $900+ Z BTW- What other kind of work does he do? I never got around to asking. Do you think he would do suspension mods and custom exhausts?
  12. Update: Meineke: $948 Midas: $918 Nissan: $975 40 minute drive to another city to visit a small shop suggested by a fellow NPORA member: PRICELESS! :cool2: THANKS WHEELMAN LS1 You saved me about $400 to $500! He is charging me a little more b/c I asked him to replace all of the manifod studs and to do the oil filter re-location kit as well (where you have yours mounted). Labor = $400 Jeff, owner of Performance Auto Care wanted me to thank you for the word-of-mouth advertisement. I made the appointment for wednesday the 11th. Z Cheers to WheelManLS1
  13. Slick- Thanks for the reply. There is no way for me to do it. I am currently in a temporary living situation. (Renting apartment...no garage, no driveway). There is no "stubble" or grabable surface. Z
  14. Ah-hah Thanks Wheelman....I'll give them a call. A drive up to Moorsville is definately worth it. I'll let you know when I make the appointment so you can drop by and see the rig. There is a possibility that it will have to wait until January. ...after thinking about it some more...I might have you do my oil filter re-location kit the same that you did yours before I drop it off. Thanks for all the replies! Z
  15. I might be able to do the job except for the getting the broken stud out of the block...that's definately out of my league Z
  16. I've had the Thorley headers for a while...but the only problem is that they are in my living room A manifold stud broke not too long after I bought her, and I was not surprised. Since then, i've aquired the headers, filter re-location kit and the 300zx studs. I knew the labor would'nt be cheap, but a grand!?! The dealership wants just under a grand to install the headers and remove \ replace the studs. They said at least 5 hours a side. I went by two independent exhaust shops and they said "thanks, but no thanks"... they dont want to screw with it. What did you all pay for a header install \ stud replacement? Should I try Midas \ Mineke? Z
  17. Please excuse me Pathy Fans for bringing up a dead thread. I don't pretend to be a forced-induction expert, but I am thinking of putting a turbo on my 350z. To make the long story short, I thought that I would mention a few solutions in the Z world that could possibly be adapted to a boosted Pathy application. Fuel Injectors: Modified OEM Fuel Injectors from deatschwerks.com Although they don't have the VG30E or model listed, I'd be willing to bet they would look into our injectors (MPI) if there was enough demand. Or perhaps, the VG30DETT injector might fit? Fuel pressure: The 350z community is buying the Walbro fuel pump for their boosted applications. Engine Management: I'd look into a piggy-back ECU system like the Greddy Emanage or the eManage Ultimate . If any of the L&P guys are reading this, I'd suggest contacting Sharif (sha-reef) at ForgedInternals.com about the above items. He is quite famous in the 350z modding world and would be able to advise you engine management and fuel considerations for our application. Z
  18. These light mounts? If so, they're cheap and easy to do! >> Parts-Train 1997 HB Parts ...however, those mounts oare only for crummy sealed beam lights. These Euro headlights appear to have mounts on them: Parts-Train Euro Lights Thanks Again Fellas! Z
  19. Wheelman- Check out L&P's forums....I am extremely interested in the SC project as well. See Following for answers to my Q's in a thrad over there:
  20. Thanks Guys.... So what you're saying is that the hood is cake-walk and the grill is more involved...needing the newer "support-frame" for the lights and radiator... Z
  21. The hood on my 1995 Pathy looks like someone tried to tango on it (hail damage perhaps). Instead of having it repaired, I was thinking it would be a good opportunity to update the look and get a 1997 Nissan Pickup Hardbody hood and grille. :cool2: Would this be a no-brainer operation (same mounting-points and hinges).... ...or a nightmare (fabrication, etc...)? Thanks! Yes, I tried a search.
  22. My picks: JAOS Wheel Volks Te-37 (These would match my 350Z's wheels Z
  23. I don't think that I've ever seen them list the original manufacturer on any of the parts there. On one hand I'd like to support a vendor that supports the Nissan aftermarket, however, they seem a bit shady to me.
