Ok , as some of you know my tranny died last week.The cost of a rebuild / new tranny just not worth it. So by this time next week i will be buying a new ford ranger. I looked at the frontier but it is about $ 5000 more than the ford, and not available here in right hand drive. I will still be a regular here, and someday i may own another pathy. I looked at a 98r50 but my friend that works at the local dealer said not to buy it as it has been in and out of the garage every other week! Apparantly when it came in from japan as a used vehicle the whole engine was full of water!!

My tranny is a: RE4R01A.... i can't get a rebuild kit here for mine either. I'll get the tranny dropped tomorrow, then I'll know if to repair or replace.If i decide to rebuild the tranny, I might need to send one of you some $ to get the job done

1US$ = $2BDS. Not many pathys' here, can't find a tranny here, may find one in Trinidad and ship it over. Oh the duty and taxes on cars is 190% and that is calculated after the cost of shipping is included.

Well my trany has died.... I have first and second gears no third or od My choices are... rebuild/replace tranny 5 to 8 grand Buy second hand Mitsubishi Pajero{98 model)50 grand Buy NEW ford ranger...but i don't have 80Grand for a new one. What do you guys suggest?

don't go with monroes... great on car but not pathy's. I busted two of them with some light off raoding.

Appears to be the starter/ relay. I would think it is more likely the relay. Keep us posted.

my turbo is leaking oil... not too severe but just enough to be PITA. It has done it for a while, and the truck runs ok. Has anyone installed a turbo that could adjust from a controler on the dash.

I'll ask my friend two2first{ he just joined the forum}. He has a td27 and has a boost gauge and since he works at the local nissan dealership he may have some insight. He is to come by my place this weekend.

Yesterday i decided to fix my tach. It was done in no time, great! Then a friend who works at the local Nissan deelership and drives a path pulled up.. so we decide to take my truck for a spin.... speedo not working , truck refuses to change gear{ auto tranny}, I start to cuss!! :furious: We crawl back to my house to discover I broke the end of the speedo cable when reinstalling and figure :idea: that it must also affect the tranny. The deeler is closed.. and there ain't many spare Pathy's here . My friend takes out his speedo cable and puts it in mine{ his is manual} and ta da.. all is well.

Well I push about 400 watts and more than rattle the windows.

actually i do play golf........poorly. I almost scored 4 almost new rims today but the center hole was too small to fit over the front hubs.....boo hooo

i am not rubbing the fender edge but the inside of the tire is rubbing the frame

very small roads in my part of the planet and also i need all the lock i can get to manouvere when i go to farms etc

has anyone tried using wheel spacers on their path.... i just put on a lift kit and now i get a little rub on the inside of the tire at full lock. I can't afford to buy new rims and tires right now. I am using a 16 inch rim with 245/75 16 tires{ almost new rubber}. (31 inch)

I got my 3 inch lift installed, some cool lighted pedals{ not over done but just a thin red flame} Tomorrow i get new left tie rod assembly, a realignment and hopefully some better rims{ something with more of a dish to them} non pathy stuff were golf books, baggies and a dremel which will be used on some pathy stuff.

I just about 2 hrs ago installed a 3 inch lift from AC{ did not use the UCAs}. Sweet! Only prob is I now need better rims{ wider and deep dish}. I 'll have to break the piggy bank next week. Santa has been reel nice and xmas is not untill tomorrow. No pics yet, waiting for the new wheels first!
