  1. Well, it has been a long time without modding the pathy.

As you know after installing the sfd the front remains a little bit exposed. So I decided to install a front skid plate.... from desition to excecution it took me a long time... but finally here it is

The design was made with a 2mm steel black power coated.

    Here are the photos:

  2. ..... cut out in the center of the extension block to sexy it up. Had to be pretty flexible to reach the motor mounts especially the drivers side. It snowed on me the second day of the project but i got most of it done the first day just had to finish the details laying in the snow and freezing. Gotta give a big shout out to "ramdala", gracias huevon. His post and drawings were awesome. Got....

    hahaha excellent. :aok:

Good work, now tomove on the tires...

  3. Hi, I have changed my brake fluid some time ago when I was doing my SDF install.

If you do it manually (like me), you need the help of a second person one on the pedal and other opening and closing bleeder valves and to have an eye to the fluid level on the reservoir because no air must enter to the system.

Here is a pic of the bleeder with a tube on the top left side of the image.

  4. Glad to let you know we've just started planning an expedition to visit this region on the south of Argentina and Chile.

It will be about - or more than - 12000 to 15000 km, some people will start the trip at Sao Paulo, others in Porto Alegre, and the target is Ushuaia / Argentina.

Hey what a good trip!! If you need some help in Chile, you can write me a PM.

    Regards

  5. I'm curious if folks install this while the front end is jacked up, or not. Perhaps it might cause extra ?torsion or something if it is (or isn't) installed while jacked up?

Along a similar idea: My pathfinder seems to ride/corner "nicer" since I installed my sliders. Could be psychological, could be the added weight at lower center G, could be semi-binding of the unibody to subframe, or any combo of previous.

I don't know for sure but I bet that mine was installed with the pathy jacked up...

  6. Whats the best most aggressive looking but still reasonable all terrian tire i can buy that looks mean and still performs well on the street? looking for a 33 11.5 15

    Hi,

I dont know if its the most agressive tire but I am running BF MT KM2 on my truck and I am very pleased with the performance and the looks of them.

Not the best pics but you get the idea...

  7. Hello All,

After reading some opinions on the installation of the "missing Link" I decided to install it. I am not shure if I can fell a big difference or it is psycological but the truck seems more solid specially on curves.

I think if you have a SFD, the link frees of the stress of the blocks and of the rear A-arm mounting point...just guessing.

  8. Hello All,

I forgot to mention that the tpms has been working great.

Compared to my arb deflator, theres a margin of +- 1/2 psi between them so its quite accurate. I have noticed for example if you park with just two wheels to the sun TPMS reflect the greater pressure on those wheels (.. nice way to remember ideal gas law from my chemistry lessons).

I have tested it on trail down to 7 psi with no problem.

Not to mention that I am not using the deflator as often, just let the tire deflate until the desired pressure checking the monitor. Same thing to inflate.

  9. That's what I think I'll do. It would be nice to install everything at once, while I have the help rounded up and beer-cooler packed.

Couple of pics for reference. This thread might turn into my build thread. :)

Nice setup!! You can check this link with my install for reference if you will. I second the comment related to weld the kit... I am developing a nasty "click" sound that I need to check.

    Good luck and post pics!

  10. Hey guys,

I had been planning for some time to go with the AC lift kit on my 2001 Pathy. Lately I have been reading and looking at pictures on here and I think I have decided to do the Krypton Fabs SFD.

My plan is to source the AC front springs from 4x4parts and then do the SFD using the recommended Jeep WJ rear coils. I haven't decided on which to use, the 3" or 4" lift version yet.

My question is, a lot of the SFD threads I have seen on here show a major alignment issue when this is first completed. How do you fix this??? I'm also concerned about the vibration issues I have read about.

Can anyone help to answer these questions? I have done lots of reading but haven't come across any good hard answers. Thanks!

    Hi,

4" SFD kit by krfabs implies no problem with alignment..It maintain the geometry of the suspension. 4" sfd + 2"springs put your whells like that \ / (front view)and you should correct it, for example, usign camber bolts. I would use the longer wj coil... I think that is best to have more to cut than to find that the coil is short...

  11. I had the same question. I did a quick google search and a youtube video explained it pretty well.

Apparently, you want to eliminate your slip yoke when you lift your vehicle. The slip yoke is like a little bit if extra length that your driveshaft can extend. For bumps and stuff I guess. When you lift your vehicle, your driveshaft is now at an angle. The transmission is higher than the differential so it has to bend differently AND stretch. 1 or 2 inches of lift is no big deal, but if you do like 4 inches, then you start having problems. The angel would become so severe, that the u-joints would become weak. Also, in this video (referring to older Jeeps YJs I think he said), the driveshafts would extend so much that they would actually slip out of the transmission a tiny bit and in certain gears, it wouldn't go into gear and it would damage the trans.

Take a look, it seems to make sense, but they are very expensive.

  12. Yes, I've been there. You should try snowboarding, it's not as hard on the knees as skiing. At least after you learn to stay up. Are there heavy restrictions on land use in Chile? I live in Georgia (South east U.S.), and I have to drive 3 hours and pay mucho $ to go wheeling anywhere here. From what I saw in your pictures, Chile has awsome places to ride. How far south were you?

Regarding to snow I prefer to live from previous glories than present failures... I am pretty much in the center of the country, in Santiago. There are not much restrictions but places are closing because of real state developements. You have 1 hour to the east a ski center 1,5 hours to west beaches and dunes. Some Dakar stages will be run on the north of the country... 800 - 2.000KM from Santiago.
