  1. I'd say get the $69 alignment, seeing how you'll be adding more lift anyway. You're getting the SFD, right? Only going with 32's?
  2. OME doesn't offer a 2" lift coil. As far as I know, AC provides the only option for 2" lift coils for the R50. As far as I know, the springs are designed and produced to the same standards and specifications as those of OME. And last I checked, OME products are far more expensive than the R50 lift kits available through AC.
  3. I'm not sure of the quality of the KMA bumpers; they look pretty tough and I'd assume could take a good beating. Also, the numerous customization options are great. For me, the only downside is being all the way up in Canada... Exchange rate + customs/duty + shipping = No go for me unless I had money coming out my butt... And besides, if you can find someone to custom fab something for you, it's a good opportunity to design something unique to your rig and yours alone!
  4. Pssst, just so you know, XS Engineering is a US company.
  5. How do your sway bar links/bushings look? Always good to get new bushings BTW, those CV axles are great. The centre shaft has a thicker diameter so they're a bit beefier than the OEM CV's!
  6. Way to go, Pezzy! Your gold star is in the mail!
  7. This isn't a Honda forum guys... Post some more R50 pics on this thread!
  8. Do the service work, and she'll be just like new. Never underestimate the R50! But yes, get the 2" lift and some tires and you'll be happy you did!
  9. Bah... Close enough dood! But I DO stand corrected!
  10. Agreed, go KYB for struts. They are hands down the best option for front suspension. As for bumpers, TJM if you're lucky enough to find one... Otherwise it'd have to be a custom job.
  11. That's true. ARB only makes a bumper for the 2000+ R50.
  12. I don't doubt, as I have driven both. I love the VQ35, don't me wrong. But I fail to see how the VG33 is an 'epic fail'. The VG33 is a capable engine and more than gets the job done. The VQ just has a considerably better output capacity. Furthermore, if the VG is an 'epic fail', why did the R50 in Japan, Oceania and everywhere else but North America keep the VG until 2004? The VQ was only put the in '01-'04 Pathfiner in Canada and the US. I think that says something about the VG... At least that's what my research has concluded so far...
  13. Well that would be downright super of you Alex. But get better first eh! Thanks for the continued help with my newbness.
  14. So in other words, don't buy Xterra mods for the R50... Blast!
  15. Good to hear things went well for you bud. Rest up and get better! And remember, chicks dig scars!
  16. I had a feeling you might, Pezzy! I thank you
  17. Really? When I got quotes for my AR 767's, the difference was only about $20 a wheel...
  18. In the hopes to add some ease to doing oil changes, I had the thought of installing a filter relocation kit. With the skid plates installed it makes getting to the filter even more tedious. Has anyone attempted such a modification? I've seen many universal kits out there but I'm a little weary when it comes to actually buying and installing one.
  19. I couldn't agree more. I'm running exactly that on my '98 with 16x8 wheels, 5" backspacing BUT with a lift. There is a bit of rubbing at full lock while turning but otherwise it's a great setup. Without the 2" lift my rig wouldn't move; 31's are the maximum you can upsize on stock suspension. Just curious, but why not just stick with 16" wheels...?
  20. That's what I had feared... Thanks Alex! Here's the JDM blueprint, in case anyone is interested. Maybe it's all the same except for the control unit...?
  21. Oh the tentative plan is to get one installed but only if I can do it for a good price. There's no need in spending an obscene amount of money on improving my rig's creature comforts when what's already there is totally sufficient. My biggest issue with this swap is the external hardware. Aside from the control unit itself, I'm totally in the dark in regards to wiring and other necessary parts. I've got a blueprint for the JDM digital model but it's hard to say if the hardware's similar as the JDM control unit differs significantly from the unit here.
  22. LOL, this could be misinterpreted if read by the wrong person! Anyhoo, sorry to hear things didn't work out so smoothly. I asked the seller of the leather Nismo knob if it has the right threads; I was told it would work without an issue so I'm hoping that's the case. The only solution I can recommend would be to fab something so make the fitting smaller so that it would fit snug on the t-case shaft.
  23. The dials in my '98 are seriously just a pissoff. The QX4 came with a digital unit as standard equipment and that's understandable; some '99 R50 LE models came with it too. As such, I've been researching this and have come to the conclusion that it is possible, given that all the parts are OEM. Here's what the digital unit looks like: I see these for sale all the time on eBay for really cheap but I'm pretty sure it's just the unit, without the wiring harness, auto thermometer unit and whatever other hardware is needed. I was wondering if anyone has the digital unit and if any helpful advice could be offered. It's not exactly a case where I need to do this; moreso just me wanting to get rid of primitive dials for better digital technology.
