  1. Thanks Pezzy. I was hoping to hear back from you. I Have a 92 and I see yours is a 99. I'll see if I can figure something out this weekend.
  2. I'm unable to locate the post(s) about the project of adding that wire basket (running the width inside)to the side/ceiling furthest back by the back window? you could reach in easily w/ the bag window open. any help?
  3. Is it possible to swith my front seats? as in put the driver's seat in the passenger seat and the passenger seat as the driver seat? I have a 92 xe. Doesn't look possible to me because the track heights are different.
  4. Greetings. i had the same problem. i decided that removing the whole set up is a big project. Mr. Jim gave me a great tip that works wonders. i do it twice a year. First, spray some good penetrating oil in there and work it in by swinging that gate back and forth. do this 2 days in a row. the third day, hit it w/ penetrating oil and then follow it up w/ some light oil- like the all purpose metal oil. it will swing like new.

    fuel filter?

how do i change a fuel filter in a 92?
  6. can you post some photos of that? it sounds pretty cool. or 88?
  7. The walmart spillmaster worked for me after all- 92 xe manual. its great. i is a nice tight fit- no need to fasten it down.
  8. mine came w/ new ball joints as well. haven't had to do the read window yet though.
  9. i've never done wiring work other than my stereo. i looked in the chiltons haynes books. i removed the casing around the steering column last night- my contant wipers (stock, non intermittent) had 5 wires coming out of it. the new wiper control i have has about 8 or 9 w/ some different plugs. there is an "amplifier" box either in or connected to the wiper motor in the fire wall on the passenger side. i found the same 5 wires coming out of the motor and they are taped to the main wire group (wrapped in black tape) going into the pass compartment - this taped wire is at least an inch in diameter. i'd probably just route the new wires in individually. i'll have to check the junkyard to see if the motor is still there. or you could buy new parts. i wonder what they cost? great luxury.
  10. i checked the above cupholder at sprawlmart- (megalomart) and it doesn't fit my 92 manual. the dust bowl is about an inch closer to the shifter boot.
  11. i did mine on friday. tightened it w/ about 6 turns. dropped my clicks from 13 down to 7. now- for that cupholder....
  12. Went to the junkyard on saturday. The only had 1 pathy.- 2 door- maybe an 89? i couldn't locate a year stamp/sticker. it was stripped well- the only thing i could think of was the intermittent wiper switch as mine is constant. It was all exposed so i cut the wires after the connectors and pd $4.00 for it. can i install it in my 92 without changing my motor? I'm thinking that i can't, but it was worth the $4.00 gamble. i didn't even check/compare the motors.
  13. I plan on doing this tomorrow. My e-brake clicks about 14 times before it engages.
  14. yeah- break it down. can you show photos of how close they are to the oil filter? i can't imagine not being able to change the oil filter. how much was the labor to install them? or did you do it yourself.

  16. amazing response to that question. i almost wish i had to replace mine so i could put those great directions to use. i'm still waiting on denis to find a regulatar fix to my gas guage problem for the 92 xe.
  17. great job on the documentation, jim. i'll be doing the same thing eventually. might try it myself. I gotta decide on pacesetter or doug thorleys. i noticed that you had them coated in ceramic. did you have the option to buy them precoated?
  18. i replaced the rear lift gate supports and the supports for the window about 2 years ago- very easy. 1 wrench. cost was 1/3 Nissan's price at napa auto parts. When it gets cold, they don't stay up as easy.
  19. a huge sofa- stuck 4 feet out of the back- i tied down the rear and spare rack. also fit a nordic track treadmill from sears- huge- also left the rear open for that.
  20. I cut out the bolts on the rear seat hinges of my 95. Used a dremel and went thru about 4 discs. I'm 6'7" and needed the space bad. i replaced it with bolts and wingnuts as per the above. i put the front seats in the most forward positions. Now i can sleep in there when i'm in the doghouse. Great tip. i wonder if they make small inflatable matresses that might fit back there. i doubt it. Can't wait to finally camp in it. Thanks.
