  1. If you take your time, you will be able to determine if your intake valve timing selenoid is bad (with the ohm resistance test) or if you have an electric short (with the voltage test)... have a look here with a the pages I took from the FSM :

Once you determine what is wrong, you will know what the next step is...Changing parts until the problem goes away is never a good solution...find the problem first..

    Good luck.

  2. I was rather dissapointed after your many helpful posts to not be able to purchase your products. Your advice and knowledge of the R50 platform and it's limits essentially built my truck as it sits. Hopefully when things return to normal and your website is up again I can purchase a product or two from you. In the mean time I look forward to gleaning more information.

I will get back.. I really just need the time to refocus and actually finish some of the projects that have been taking way too long.. (like my new garage with a lift that will enable me to finally finish the full skidplates) even in winter time..

  3. Haha ya I noticed it posted multiple times! Oops! I've been looking around my pathy is a 5 speed manual with the Tx10 TC, I guess the auto TCs have some serious issues with manual hubs but it looks like I'm good to go!

Also unrelated I recently lifted my pathy about 2 inches and ever since have experienced increased vibrations in 4wd, anyone have any thoughts on the matter? The angle on the CVs is not excessive and with the stock fixed hub any vibration from the axles would be present in 2wd too, right? Maybe T case front output shaft bearing?

The auto TC issue is a misinformation. It has been debunked long time ago. the atx14a TC can play nice with manual hubs as long as you do not use the auto setting..

as for the vibration, you could rule out (or confirm) that it is not your universal joints on your fron driveshaft... Simply remove it and have a road test... you will know rapidly if it is your half shafts or not.

    Cheers.

  4. The issue comes from the auto mode. When your hubs are unlocked, you cannot leave it on auto because of the way the transfer case works. Since it is a shift on the fly type, you can imagine what kind of carnage it would do if the transfer case was to engage the front while nothing is turning in front and that the rear is rolling at 50mph...

    That's it really...

The hype came from the fact that at one point I assumed the mechanical oil pump for the transfer case was being activated by the rotation of the front driveshaft... It was finally proven that it is from the rotation of the rear (main) driveshaft..So there is no problem between the transfer case and manual hubs... simply have to use it with either 2wd unlocked and 4wd when locked....no more auto...

  5. Can't wait to see what you come up with for version two! Are you going to be expanding your line of R50 products?

Yes. But first i need to finalize my garage in order to bring those.

Bullet proof trailing arms, full skids and tougher half shafts are some of my immediate ideas i will be working on...

    Cheers

  6. Hi Everyone.

Unfortunately, 4 x 4 d e s i g n is stopping its operations. I am taking a few months off in order to prepare for a bigger and better Version 2... I will not sell any inventory left so please do not write me about this.

I would like to thank everyone for the great adventure that it was.

    Stay tuned for chapter 2

    S.

ps. I will stay around to help like I always did.

  7. Leviwinterton, sorry for hijacking your topic.. 👍

Fleurys, I am buying a set of front and rear spacers from a NPORA member who bought the from you... The lift would be 1.5" on the rear and 1" or 1.5" on the front... My question is... Do I have to crank the torsion bars to.?

There is no torsion bars on the r50 (1996-2004)
