wow, that is such a good and obvious idea! i feel a little ashamed that i didnt think of it.
thanks! hopefully someone who is tearing apart thier rig is selling one. lol
-
has anyone relocated thier rear box speakers to the ceiling or rear doors?
been thinking about it for a while, maybe get a little extra space out of the back when the seats are up if the speakers are somewhere else.
-
if your torsion bars have sagged you may also have to reindex them before you can get the full height from the front. there is great how to on that by 88.
it is what I will be doing friday.

Anyone have a garvin wilderness safari rack on their rig like the one found at rocky-road?
If so does it mount to the existing factory luggage rack?
I've read that the existing rack can only handle up to 80lbs. is this true?

is there a post about how you modded that for your truck red?

i have a 91 auto with thorleys on. didnt weld anything, although it might be advisable to put a clamp over the crossover. did have to bend the egr pipe slightly to make it fit.

ah! thanks guys!
just have to find the hole now. my FSM doesn't point it out at all.

I ended up getting raybestos, not cheap ones but somewhere in the middle.
Only problem is the pads are so thick after I clip them into the caliper, the swinging section wont close over them!?!
What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like time for a tap and die set and a new bolt
urgh that was what I was afraid of.

was putting my AC UCA on the passenger side of my truck today. started bolting them in, and the right hand side bolt got really hard to wrench down. backed it off a bit and noticed it was at a slight angle. Took it completely out and the first few threads have been stripped, and some of the threads in the bolt hole on the frame are damaged.
suggestions please
-
are you talking about the 4 bolts on top? hand tight, basically.
no the spindle bolt
This is a trick I have used is similar situations. Find another (non critical) bolt, loosen it, torque it to the low end of the spec, put a wrench on it and tighten it just a fraction more. You now know how hard you have to push/pull with the wrench to be in the torque range...B
ok, so guesstimate, lol
-
got it off with a wrench. thanks everyone.
creekkid, how did you get the right torque spec when you put it back on?

sigh. i really didnt want to have to remove the cv. but oh well.
yeah, the nut is in standard too rather than metric.
-
yeah, that didnt work. only have about an inch between the cv boot and the ball joint knuckle bolt
-
k ill try turning my wheels.
-
Ok, I am replacing my UCA's, and upper and lower ball joints today.
UCAs went fine, but when I looked at unbolting the upper ball joint from the Knuckle found out there isnt enough room to get a socket in there.
How do I unscrew this nut?
Thx

ah ha, neat. Ok, guess Ill have to fab something up

Just bought a 72 inch Hi Lift Jack.
Where has everyone mounted thiers? Id like to mount it on swing out tire arm if thats possible.
-
I have an AC brace on both of my trucks, both fit just fine.
yeah the guy at AC seemed confused too, asked if I had a moog arm(which i dont). They said they will take it back and mail me one that fits though to make sure I'm completely satisfied etc etc.
Regarding the Calmini brace; which one is the correct part #? NP12490 or NP12490RHD. Or does RHD just stand for Right Hand Drive?

Does anyone know where to find the OE (or aftermarket) pin bracket that bolts to the frame other than the dealer? Is there a place online that sells it?
IIRC Rockauto has the pin and the monroe OE shock

Well she's not my puppy anymore now that me and the ex split up since she got her B4 I got here to CA but you can see who she wanted to be with and still to this day if she sees me she says FU to the ex and comes to me and won't go to her...I hope to have a new one here in the coming months. I haven't decided if I want to go with a Border Collie or maybe get me a lab or German Shepard
My exes dog does the same thing.... guess its a good thing for us they are exes if their dogs don't even like them.

you must have cut into the material to do this correct? cant remember, is it plastic? cos most of the plastic in mine is pretty brittle.
