  1. Well, I took the plunge. 31x12.5 ProComp Mud Terrains

They rub pretty bad at as little as half-turn, but I had no love for my front fenders anyway. The guys at the tireshop laughed when I said that's what a saw's-all is for....

They don't know me very well. :crossedwires:

Personally, I like the MadMax look. I'll get the fenders done as soon as I have time. For now, just being able to get into the parking lot at work is good enough.

I'm thinking a body lift is in order, but I don't really want to very high. Maybe 1".

Only time will tell whether the suspension holds up to the 10" wheels. I am due for new bushings, but other than that, I don't foresee any major changes.

I drove about 50 miles on the highway tonight with no real complaints, other then the noise, which will take some getting used to.

  2. thanks

Did we help you at all?

One of mine was built before I was in high school, the other was built after I graduated high school.

Glad to know I'm not alone on my trip to the retirement home. Smiley_wheelchair.gif

  3. I just got a set of Milemarker hubs from O'Reillys for $84.99 with free shipping about a month ago. Install was simple, it took about an hour total ( had one stubborn allen bolt ). I used an allen wrench with a box wrench slid onto it for extra leverage to remove the old bolts + lots of aerokroil spray. The Milemarker's seem solid to me, but I haven't been on the trails yet.

Item No. is 435 if any one is interested. I don't see them getting any cheaper than that.

  4. This topic may be dead, but I ran into something that I figured I'd share and save for later...

This is a stainless, square tube grill for the 09-94 HB (w/ composite lights) made by Stull

It lists on their site for $125

It ought to fit the path w/o any kind of conversion.

  5. SE and LE I think with the sport power or convenience package, don't remember exactly, I didn't buy mine new

These things came new!! I wish I'd known, I'd've bought one of those.

That's like trying to picture your mother as a little girl. Try as you might, she's always... "preowned".

  6. Depends on whether he has rear disc or drum. The drums are manually engaged by the cable, but if he has discs, then the rotor has a smaller drum inside it that is used for the parking brake....

OIC. I was wondering why the manual covered the drums twice. :togo:

    <thread jack>

Well that's just silly. So much easier to have the cable lock the caliper. Maybe a swap is in order.

Such as it is, I haven't seen any need for disks on this truck. It really shouldn't go fast enough to warrant the upgrade from drums.

Which models came w/ disks anyhow?

    </tread jack>

  7. hi all

have a 90 pathy and today i went to adjust my e- brake and there is no more adjustment to be have.the handel inside pulls all the way up and they don't hold at all.do i need new cables or is there some kind of a brake pad for the e- brake?

The parking break manually engages the rear break drum . When was the last time you changed your drum shoes?

You should probably look into a break job before replacing cables.

Check the FSM (BR 18-27) for more detailed instructions.

  8. I dunno. Are you telling me no one here ever did something questionable to an animal when they were young?

No one here has a random firecracker story? Nothing involving hair trimmers?

The fact that a 7 year old was able to break into a zoo makes me question the whole article. Was he put up to it?

How was he not missed? How far did he have to go to get there? Shouldn’t he have been in bed?

My original point is this: There is a fundamental lack of limits and consequences these days... Obviously not only here in the US.

This is the reason that a boy would think it's OK to go into a zoo and feed the crock or why a couple kids in Colorado would think they could get back at the mean kids by taking guns to school.

You're a liar if you claim to never having considered either option at least once in your life, but you weighed your actions against the repercussions and decided on your limits… You knew better.

Our society that has been on a downward slide for 40 years. I blame Freud and his associated clones. We’re too quick to analyze the underlying problems when the situation is often much more basic.

Personally, I’d have put a shoe in my 7 year old’s ass for trying to leave the house alone. He’d have never made it to the zoo. Simple as that.

  9. AA is bull@!*%. Had to go to some meetings when I got into a little scuffle in the Navy... Go figure.

Is the family a bunch of T-total’ers or what?

I agree w/ the perspective comment. If I drank around my father's family like I do w/ my mother's, they would surely think I'm sick (Portuguese Catholics, able to make the Irish blush).

Then again, my mom's family thinks my dad's clan is a bunch of pot-smoking hippies... Not that they're wrong.

If you can stretch a 12 pack over a week-end, it's a pretty safe bet that you're fine.

Don't let them mess w/ your head.

  10. First, I'd like to point out that this forum is infested w/ Canadians.

Second, the skid plates tend to get misplaced after 15 years.

Mine didn't have one when I bought it.

My first WD21 had one for a week, then I snapped off all the fasteners and decided it was easier to run w/o then to drill them out.

I think a homebrew plate w/ heavy duty bolts is a better option anyhow.

  11. Trucks shouldn't have carpets anyway. Rubber mats maybe, but not carpet.

Sounds like your rust issue isn't too bad either. I'm sorry that you're disappointed. I was too when I found the flaking on my frame.

But, there are guys here making the best of a lot worse.

I consider myself lucky at this point.

I'll keep trying to control what I can and, when it finally gets so bad that I can't enjoy my truck, I'll either buy new one (Xtrera probably) or put a new frame under it...

$2700 isn't too much to ask for another 20 years of service, I think.

  12. Well if you put it like that then, I'll drink, but no more than I would if I was going to drive on the road. If I've had less than 2 in the last hour I'd drive. (I'm taking beers too, anything hard and I ain't driving.) I've been on club runs where I had too much and then everyone decided to go back out, I just took a passenger seat.

    X2

I'll drink a couple at a restaurant, then drive home. What's the difference on the trail?

The key word is Responsibility. If you've got a buzz, you shouldn't be behind the wheel.

If you're too immature to know (or admit) that you're fukt up, then you shouldn't be drinking in the first place.

Now, we are talking about drinking before driving right? Drinking while driving is just plain dumb, no matter the circumstance.

No hard stuff for me either. I gave that up when I realised what a silly drunk I am.
