  1. I have a group of 1995 Brand New, Never Titled Nissan Pathfinders. These

vehicles have never been registered. I have an assortment of SEV6

    Pathfinder 4x4 models and a few XEV6 Pathfinder 4x4s.

maybe we should do a group buy

  2.

One more question -- this car has an auto tranny -- what is the correct method to shift in and out of 4WD with an automatic? I only have experience with manual trannies and 4WD.

that info should be on drivers visor, flip and read :contract:

    wellcome

  3. The first thing I did to my 94 was to check the whole front end out. That seems to problem area especially if the PO drove the heck out of it. Allthough if they did good maintenence then it should be kool. Definately put in grease fittings in all components that are designed to have them (about 10) and greas'em up.

It does make me wonder why the timing belt was done at 63k. in my owners manual they call for 110k. the pre 90s were at 60k though.

you didn't mention plugs/wires etc... but that's something i'd check for sure too. they probably were done at timing belt but who knows.

I have had no probs using after market parts/fluids on my 89 but not that familiar with the my 94 yet.

good luck, you bought your daughter one heck of a good vehicle.

  4. Oh, i appreciate your answer sw,

medium duty is? 75w90? should i go with higher numbers or lower. seems maybe i do have lsd since the wheels spin in the same dir. but there is no sticker of any kind. is there another way to find out?

no ideas on the possible grinding sounds? hopefully it is not going kaput.

    thanks

p.s. i don't think i could hide under that chair - 6-2; only if it was metric maybe then :)

  5. Seems I married into a Pathfinder. My wife had the '88 when we got married. We thought about trading it in, but it has been so dependable we decided it's a keeper. Now I've just gotta figure out where to start... :-)

    Hi there...

  6. I apologize for my ignorance, but I think its part of the lifters system, I just don't know the correct terminology.  Bottom line is, the MRs  (mystery rings) go exactly where I have marked in the photos accompanying my original post.  He said two of the bolts will go right through them.

Yes, I did see that but he also said the above. I don't think MRs go where he points to on his pics. They go on the underside and he seems to think they are part of the lifters which I do not thus my clarification.

    :)

  7. I am pretty sure those are allignement guides for your heads. They go into recesses of 2 of the head bolts in the heads and block; one in the front and one in the back, top and bottom (catty-corner from each other) They fit in the underside of your head (cardboard side in your pic) Look for two larger holes. Just one look and that was my feeling but it has been a while..Hope that helps.

  8. ... are TOUGH to press down since the MSD boots aren't as long as stock and not as stiff... took me about 20 minutes to get the first one pressed down. Grr...

...onto plugs? I use a dab of vaseline and the slide on and off pretty easy.

making your own wires... that's kool.

  9. I am upgrading my shocks and was about to install the driver side rear one but seeing that the exhaust pipe is so close it made me worried about the rubber boot. I don't want to melt it and it seems that it just may. Any ideas how to go about this problem?

  10. I hear a grinding noise (metallic humm) only in 4x4 and not really in 4lo-can't tell there. The noise still persist even if out of 4x4 but with front wheels still locked. It seems to originate in the front diff area. From the records I sure don't see the fluid ever being changed there. The tk is at 95k mi or so (94 xe). Any ideas on this?

since I'll have to do the oil change in it, for sure, what kind of oil do I use? weights?

rear diff: i don't have an orange sticker on it, the wheels spin in the same dir when in N, how can I be sure if it is or isn't LSD? does it take the same grease as the front one?

I also saw something about replacing oil in the manual tranny. What kind of oil should I use there? and since I haven't looked yet, sorry, but where are the drain and refill plugs located? is there a separate compartment for clutch oil? if any.

I can't find my book that i had for my previous baby (RIP) so I'd appreciate your imput. thanks

    :takebow:

  11. Hey everybody. Long time Pathfinder owner first time poster. :)

Anyway, I own a 94 5 sp pathy. Working on some minor stuff. getting ready to go muddin somewhere soon. I somewhat participate at MOR forums. Mostly heepers but friendly enough and accepting of my Pathy.

Nice to come across more pathy lovers with some in depth knowledge. Hope to meet some of you out there... :cool2:
