  1. yea 300 days is GAY dank:why you mugging me for 300 bucks?
  2. alright can a moderator move this to the R50 forum? those darn WD's are pickin on us again
  3. Im right behind ya navy...a good project to do while taking a break from replacing bushings...kinda funny i work at a hardware store as well, i work at Home Depot, in the paint department
  4. My only problem is how well does the stuff stay secured up there? I would put a little shield in the front or something cuz if your in an accident almost anything can do some damage, and any passengers would be the first to feel that...I love the idea though and might start looking into something like that...love it Pezzy!!
  5. Wow pezzy, thats pretty ingenious. wish i had that kind of ingenuity.
  6. welcome to the forum, your in the right place. Some members have fit 31x10.50's with some trimming, though i think only stock SE wheels can fit them. You can do grill guards, tail light guards, roof racks, skid plates, lockers, up to a 2 inch suspension lift, rock sliders...the problem is most of these you can only get from one or two manufacturers, so they can be pricey. Check out the R50 forum for more details. :worthless:
  7. You know we could always buy a set of reflector lenses and when you go for a test drive the projectors magically disappear and the reflectors are there...tell the dealer they are the premium headlights. Na im just playin man, but thanks for the info, i really appreciate that youll keep an eye out.
  8. like bosch needs any help with bad rep...im never touching a bosch product again
  9. I bought the new ones from 4x4parts.com, i think they are about 100 a piece. Ive had lots of fun in the snow with them and my sister (retard) left it in 4wd on dry pavement for an hour or so (30 miles) and they arent giving me any problems. With the lift, get manual locking hubs so you dont put stress on the CV axles until you need 4wd.
  10. ok well the local harbor freight has the 12 ton press so im getting that...does anybody have any advice on a spray to use to hopefully make the nuts and bolts a little more manageable? Im going to start spraying them today and soak them 2 or 3 times a day until saturday when i start replaceing. I may still get new ones but i dont have a blow torch and dont really want to get into grinding.
  11. Dean, are yours longer struts? If so what kind are they? Im looking into the AC lift and would like to have longer struts if possible without a lot of custom work.
  12. Well how many miles do you have on the current plugs/wires? It could be whats causing the problem
  13. thats not necessary...nothing wrong with having a little fun online...ive said my share of retarded things, but if you did that it would make me look really stoooopid
  14. And your our trusted moderator? jk, i kinda wish mine had disks too
  15. Good point. Ive been considering some steelies but i think 31x10.50 will fit on the SE rims after i lift it 2 inches and with a little heat gun work
  16. kind of related...50 mph gusts in maryland going down I95 at 60-70 with the death wobble...one of the most terrifying experiences of my life... My dad was by that huge 68 car pileup in PA, he has an Excursion with the V10, he tanked right through all that snow with no problem with BFG rugged trails
  17. right now all i have is jumper cables and gloves, but i will have a tow strap in there soon with some other random things. Just a side note, what do some of you have 4-ways in there for? Theres a perfectly good lug wrench under the rear seat.
  18. Ok, thats good to hear. I was still planning on only doing one side at a time, but i think i will put the rear wheels on blocks or ramps, just so its easier to get too. All i need to do is get a couple new nuts and bolts for the mounting points. Thanks guys
  19. Well i got the poly bushings from 4x4parts.com. Im going to tackle at least the lowers next weekend, but i was wondering about one thing. I know someone had said they bought the hydraulic press from harbor freight, and we were considering doing the same. Do you all think a 12 ton press will be enough? And would i need an adapter in order to press the bushings out and in or will the press itself be wide enough? And also, Im really wondering if I could do this with the rear wheels on blocks? Has anyone done this or know if that will be better. I mean when I think about it the control arms dont support any weight or really stabilize while the truck is immobile right? Thanks, Mike
  20. When taking the control arms off, did u jack up the rear and take the wheels off? I thought i read somewhere that if you put the rear wheels on blocks so you can get under there it wont be hard to line up the control arm with the axle?
  21. For the chrome you would have to etch it and prime it, or strip it down to the plastic underneath, if its plastic. There are special primers for plastic that you can use.
  22. did they just say the V6 in that truck was a DOHC? Its cool that they are rebuilding it...but i think it would be cooler to see a crate motor dropped in edit: nvm looks like they are putting in a new engine...oh well
  23. I wouldn't do it, the problem is your going to have to spend more money and time on the process then it is worth when you can simply buy the black caps for almost nothing if you do enough searching. And even if you did paint it, I wouldn't leave the bumper on the car, or the caps on the bumper honestly. If you do decide to paint it, JJ had it covered, clean, etch, prime, paint, and seal are the steps you need to follow...Im not sure about the s/g though, our bumpers are flat and im not sure the s/g would look right, but thats up to you.
  24. Um...Dr. Pepper...and for those college nights out, if I have money Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Passion Fruit (long name i know), or if not the cheapest drink I can find... Beer wise, I like Natty Boh, Baltimore icon...
  25. Honestly what Ive read says maybe 1 inch out of an ironman lift, so i dont think it will look much different like that. The camber bolts are only for a true 2 inch lift, but some people didnt even need them. Even with the 2 inch springs and 1 inch spacers, the only part you need to worry about for strain is the cv axles. Manual hubs will take care of that if you leave them unlocked unless you need 4wd. I should mention that the struts may top out over speed bumps and such before they settle, but its not harmful. Just make sure u get an alignment after a couple of weeks.
