  1. What’s the difference between these 2? Do I need both or one or the other?
  2. I’m looking at this setup. OME HD front with KYB Struts. And MD LR (9447) or HD (9449) rear with Bilstein 2” shocks. what is your experience with your setup? How has the rake been, what would you do different?
  3. I have a 01 4x4 manual transmission with the VQ35 and FS5R30A transmission. Does anybody have experience with rebuilding these? I found a kit on rock auto with part ZMBK240DWS from USA Standard Gear. Everything says it is for the 01, but does anybody know for sure or have other options? I know I could 50/50 gamble and buy a used transmission and hope it works as well.
  4. Ah unfortunate! I dropped it off at a second place for a resurface so let’s hope it goes well! There are a few engines out there and I have numbers that I’d need to go call around for to see if they’ll split it from the engine.
  5. Hi Lock, are you looking to sell your flywheel? I’m in the market for it as I found out mine is done for
  6. The clutch hydraulic hose and slave cylinder have seen better days. The master wasn’t too expensive, so I put it on the list, but most likely will take it back off. As for the flywheel, I don’t know what the previous owner did with it once the clutch started to give, so might play it safe and get a replacement. I know it’s expensive, but then I know it’ll be good for a long while since you can’t really resurface it.
  7. I have been looking through the forums the past few weeks, and am putting a plan together for the work needed on my 2001 4X4 Manual. I recently bought the pathy for a great deal, but that also means it comes with its issues. The clutch is done for, as it won't engage until I have released about 90% of the pedal. When it does engage, it still does not make enough contact to move forward. I have also found that there is an oil leak coming from the back of the engine (RMS/gasket). My main target initially is to get the car moving again. The engine sounds strong, and there is practically no rust (AZ car). I do plan on outsourcing the RMS/clutch work. The RMS I think is currently outside of my skill level and don't have the tools to prop up the engine etc. Here are the parts I plan to replace while the transmission is out: 1. RMS/Oil pan gaskets front and back/Oil pump gasket (2x) 2. Flywheel/clutch/clutch hose/pilot bearing/slave and master cylinder/pilot bushing Anything I am missing while the transmission is out? I am on the fence if I should also go for transmission rebuild. I would like to attempt this by myself in the future. Once the car is moving again, I plan to drive it around and fix it as I go, as the other issues I have identified seem minor (as long as I keep on top of the fluids)
  8. When I look up my OEM part number for the flywheel it comes up as 12310-4W000. The one you pointed out was -4W001. The manuf stamp on my drivers door is 6/00, and even the link you sent states it should be the 4W000 when I put in my VIN. So I assume it’s different than yours due to my manuf date. As for clutch I think it’s PN KNS07-EXEDY I know my RMS is leaking, so I am thinking of going all out while it’s already pulled apart. Anything else you would recommend replacing?
  9. I just got a 2001 myself and looks like the clutch is gone. All I get is vibration when foot is pretty much off the pedal. What else is that if I take my foot off in gear it won’t even stall. What flywheel did you find since there really seem to be little to no options? I’ve found that rock auto has the replacement for what I believe is OEM (exedy). Any info would be appreciated!
