  1. Okay. Listening to suggestions above. Is this a bit better? Still just ideas. I like this pic cuz it's a bit twisty-looking, it'll transfer to T-shirt well and it's Mr Jim's truck, which seems appropriate. There's two banners in this pic cuz I can't decide which is the better one, so they're both here for you guys to see. I'm also really keen on having WWW.NISSANPATHFINDERS.COM and Find your own Path... in the final design Cheers,
  2. I think Madhatter's right. The WD-21, especially the 2-door, is the most distinctive Pathfinder. Nothing else looks anything like it. I'm personally an R50 guy, but it wouldn't be distictive enough. It needs to be recognizable at a glance. Also, DSM Guy's right about how it should be a stylised design, not a photo. A photo would look all wrong on a T shirt anyway. So, with some inspiration from everyone above, especially DSM Guy, and a $hit-hot slogan suggested by inqydesu above in this thread, here's some suggestions: Or shown on green (red, blue, white, yellow, grey etc. would also be possible.) My suggestion would be to offer a shirt with either: 1) Small logo on left breast. 2) Small logo on left breast and larger logo on center of back. I'd also suggest we use a plain, regular T shirt. A decent printer should offer us a variety of sizes from S to XXL and three or four color options. Now the printer shouldn't charge much, if any, extra for a couple of basic color options as they pay pretty much the same, wholesale, for the shirts regardless of color. Let's see more designs... Hope you all like 'em. Cheers,
  3. If you add the YJM bumper and a winch, it may be worth thinking about upgrading the front shocks/springs to cope with the extra weight and the fact that it's carried further forward. Or not. Up to you.
  4. Welcome Siggimagg. That's an awesome-looking rig. Good pic, too.
  5. A few years use, will do that, sometimes. The springs get more wear on that side. There's always someone in the driver's seat, yeah?
  6. Trailsin 26, Dude, your avatar is HUGE. You need to resize it below 10K. Reckon you'll enjoy the OMEs, though. They're a good bit o' gear.

    fuel filter?

Pump's in the tank. There's a filter in the tank. Another filter under the hood. NOBODY ever replaces the one in the tank. Pulling the tank is a PITA. The one under the hood's your main defense.
  8. Jim, I'd call myself a die-hard fan. Thanks for all you've done. Cheers,
  9. Yeah, they're different in Australia, too. There is no XE equivalent. The SE is called the 'ST' here. The LE is called the 'Ti' here. There is no Chilkoot equivalent. All the Aussie Pathys are (and always have been) 4x4 with LSD. ...and the Trooper is called the Jackaroo. Over here it's made by General Motors - Holden. They just discontinued them, in fact. They (Troopers/Jackaroos) are a good truck but not even close to the Pathy in terms of reliability or cost-effectiveness. I wouldn't trade my '96 Pathy for a new Jackaroo if it were free. Well, maybe if it were free I would. Maybe. Hmmmmm (No I wouldn't). BlueTribal , go the Pathy man. You'll be glad you did. And welcome aboard... :cool2: Faktor , take a look at your rear diff housing from behind. If you have an orange sticker that reads: "Use LSD oil only", then it's a slipper. There's a thread on here somewhere just on this topic. Do a search.
  10. I used to have 265/70/15 on my '96 Pathy and went even bigger to 31" x 10.5" R15 and still have no rubbing. Depends on your suspension and wheels, too.
  11. Bout 19 Kilometers per gallon. City driving. No reliability issues.
  12. Fefe, Did you get your system installed? Are you happy with it? BTW: Since you asked, my system's APA - An Australian company.
  13. I have Bilstiens on my '96. They're really awesome. Cheers,
  14. #1) Y'know, in the next 12 months, we're gonna start getting members on here with the new 05-06 Pathys...Will they be on the logo?... #2) Everyone has a different idea of what they like in a T-shirt. We're gonna need at least 4-5 different styles and 4-5 different colors. If that jacks up the price, somewhat, so be it. As long as it' not ridiculous. #3) You may or may not like Jeeps, but take a look at the merchandise page at Jeep.com. They have an awesome publicity machine and big money to spend (and we don't) but there are some good ideas there, anyway... Cheers, PS: "It's a Nissan thing, you Jeepers wouldn't understand..."
  15. I got a '96 Ti (Aussie name for LE) with 15x8 wheels (CSA Magnums) and 31"x10.5" BFG A/T KOs. Firstly, I get no rubbing at all (Although I have a slight suspension lift). Second, It all fits under my factory-original flares. And thirdly, I love my BFGs. I know that they're really common, but there's a reason for that. Just make sure to get a matching spare. Driving a few miles on a spare a couple inches smaller in diameter really will destroy the diff. I'm sure you knew this (judging by the pic of your XJ - Very nice by the way :secret: ) but some things are worth repeating. Anyway, hope this helps.
  16. Jeez, I thought this would be a really hot topic. Don't more people want a snorkel for their Pathy?
  17. Yeah, not on a 4x4, though. Happened to an old Toyota Celica I once owned. Sounded like a Massey Fergusson.
  18. Myself and a few people I know have been banging our heads against a brick wall for awhile, hoping for a snorkel to become available for the R50. Someone I know recently contacted Safari Snorkels and asked them why they don't do one for the R50 when there are so many offroading around the world. This is a quote from an email he just received from Safari: Quote: Yes, there is a possibility Safari will produce a snorkel for the R50, however, for the moment, there is insufficient demand. Generally speaking, we need to be confident of moving some 200 units in the short term to warrant manufacturing costs. Regards, (Name deleted to protect the innocent) Safari We have the possibility of getting this made if there is sufficient demand. Could I get an indication of demand from you guys. If we can get a few hundred 'yes' answers, they might make one. If we can get a few thousand , they will . Please vote. Assume the price would be similar to other snorkels available. (eg X-Terra).
  19. A little strip of 'smoked-look' contact paper ought to do the trick. Or nail-polish. (Don't ask me how I know this).
  20. Fernando, Dude, the LPG tank's outside the vehicle, directly unfer the trunk, where the spare wheel used to live. This is why I carry my spare on my roof. The law here won't let you put the tank inside the trunk of a station wagon-type vehicle, because it's essentially in the cabin. As a result, my tank occasionally gets knocked when I'm offroad but it came with it's own armor-plate and it's doing well. Like you, I'm on the lookout for a swingaway carrier (my truck's a '96, too), but Nissan never offered them on R50s in Australia. There are other mods on the list first, though... sly I don't know what brand off of the top of my head. I'll take a look and get back to you later. Airrun, Where do ya habitate? Just curious.
  21. Let us know how this turns out?
  22. Nice-looking truck. I reckon you'll find white sheetmetal a lot lower maintenance then black. darn, I wish we got the 3.5 engine here in Oz. pssd :sniff:
  23. Fernando, and others, I have dual-fuel installed on my truck. This means I still have the ability to run on conventional unleaded (or premium). But I also can run on LPG. LPG is short for Liquified Petroleum Gas. It is made from a 50/50 mix of Propane and Butane. Propane and Butane ar both by-products of gasoline and oil exploration and extraction. Whilst they are used in industry (and in cigarette lighters) they would otherwise be wasted. It's been around for a couple of decades in Europe and Australia / Zew Zealand. Here in Australia I'm currently paying about $1.16 (AUD) per liter for Premium unleaded. (That's about $3.20 (USD) per gallon. LPG is costing me about 40c per liter (AUD). That's about $1.05 (USD) per gallon. These calculations are a bit rough but you see the savings. The reason it's so cheap is a combination of oil-company policy (they don't sell enough LPG world-wide to dictate prices) and government policy (in Australia the government don't tax us on LPG as high). There is a trade-off, though. It costs to install. (About 2 grand in Aussie Dollars). It terms of performance, your engine runs in a somewhat different manner on LPG than it does on regular petrol (or gasoline, if you prefer). It runs much cleaner but a bit hotter. Do some serious research before spending on the conversion. Expect a performance drop. You will lose some engine power. This can be avoided if you are running on LPG all the time and you tune the car appropriately. It takes a bit of patience. If you run dual-fuel like I do, you must make a compromise in your tuning in order to run well on both types of fuel. I have done pretty well but I lose about 5 HP when I'm running on LPG. I have my original 79-liter petrol (gasoline) tank and also a 65-liter LPG tank. I have a switch on the dash to change from one to the other. That simple. When I fill both, I can drive about 900-1000 miles between refuelling. (This is a handy ability in Australia). Your engine will chew through, say, f'rinstance, 10 gallons of LPG quicker than 10 gallons of regular petrol (gasoline). The same amount will only take you about 80% as far in distance, but the dollar saving outweighs this. I love mine and my fuel bill has dropped about $50 a week with all of the city commuting I do, here in Sydney. I use LPG for all my city running and premium unleaded offroading, for the extra 5 HP. Extra servicing costs are negligible once the system is installed. Once installed, it's not tempramental. It's rugged enough for anything you wanna do. The only trade-off, offroad is that you may lose about half-a-degree of departure angle, due to the tank. Before you go to LPG, consider these points: 1. How available is LPG around where you live? How many gas stations sell it? 2. Would it be better for you to replace the fuel system with LPG? Or keep the fuel system and add LPG? (I recommend the latter). 3. Can you live with a 5 HP (ish) drop in power? 4. What's the price difference between LPG and regular where you live? 5. What's the installation cost? 6. What are the local DMV laws? (ie: Is an engineer certificate required for registration?) 7. Where are you going to relocate the spare wheel. The LPG tank goes exactly where the spare wheel is located beneath your truck. (It looks like you're thinking ahead, here. I carry my spare on the roof). Do some searches on the web. There are some very informative sites out there, I'm sure. :gossip: LPG can be very worthwhile, depending on how you use your truck and where you live. PS: And the answer is "No", these tanks don't explode in a crash. (Trust me, someone always asks this question). :secret: I hope that this rather long-winded post is helpful/informative/entertaining to someone, somewhere. Happy Trails,
  24. Worn out ignition switch? Open circuit between ignition switch and starter motor? My money's on one of these. I've had the same thing, myself (not in Pathy, though).
