  1. Hey again, I want to get a hard wire cable to be able to play my ipod through the factory stereo. Searched around all i could find is info on the newer stuff and infinitis. I know when my dad's changer went the the g35 we used instructions on wiring an ipod to get it out. Its a single disc, tape bose systems with changer controls but no changer. Does that mean theres a cable in the back somewhere? Also i don't where you can buy the wire or cable or adapter. Thanks as always for your help.
  2. yes the tach takes the reading from the distributer so if they are both in tandem then they're might be water inside the cap or sumthin
  3. yes you need to remove the plates, when i installed my hitch i could only get 2 bolts on each side to fit the others were way off.
  4. ***UPDATE*** Ok so heres what i did i have disconnected my high note of my horn and its much better, i still have my regular horn and the chirp is only a low tone which i can live with. But the real answer still eludes me. In any case thanks for all your help and input!
  5. yup it's pretty brief about the system just the lock will lock the doors and set the alarm. I've also looking in the service manuals but all it says is just diagnostics if stuff isn't working and wiring diagrams.
  6. ok went under the hood and tried to disconnect what the repair manual calls the alarm horn, no luck so i assume its using the two main horns. I think i found the controller unit. I looks to be factory because it uses a factory harness connectors etc. so i dunno what to do i'd like to keep my regular horns.
  7. i'm pretty sure its a factory install and the fob i have is itendical to the others just with another button. I know i havn't heard of anyone else with a factory starter and can't find a replacement fob on the internet.
  8. I have a 1998 Pathfinder LE and i want to disable the chirp when you lock or unlock the doors. I have tried holding the lock and unlock buttons all it does is the lights go on the the horn is steady, then it still does it. I've researched on the internet there is no switches in the remote that i could flick i read somewhere about a #5 but no luck also tried key on, off, on,off, on to access a menu but no luck. I contemplating just disconnecting the horn but then if the alarm is activates it wouldn't be much good. Please help it is really embarrassing and the neighbors are getting irritated with me playing with the alarm in my driveway. It also had a factory installed remote start which means there are 4 buttons on my remote don't know if thats why I'm having trouble disabling it Many thanks,
  9. very nice workmanship! nice and clean

  12. ditto on my auto tranny with the 2 second engagement and mine only has 30,000 miles!! so it must just be the transmisson in this model

  14. guess its just a coloured paper filter thanks for the help everyone!
  15. feels dry and sort of papery
  16. do you think it is still alright to use wont cause engine damage or does it flow to same amount as a regular paper filter?
  17. dude that is a sweet custom bumper! like those on the dirt buggy's and pre runners
  18. got some pics: hope these help
  19. i'll post a pic tommorow it gets so dark early now
  20. it would probably benefit more with a power adder because you are still relying on the engine's vacuum to suck the air in and might have less velocity if it's vacuum is split between two inlets. A shaker or ram air setup might help get more cool dense air into the engine.
  21. Hey everybody, My Pathfinder came with a what i think is a performance filter. It is a stock replacement square filter that goes in the airbox. It has black rubber seals and is purple in colour. There is no lettering on it. Doesn't look to be oiled. Just wondering if it was a real K&N or a cheap knock off because i don't want one in there that had inadequate filtration. Wondering if there is a easy way to tell. Thanks again
  22. w00t happy and safe holiday everyone!
  23. mine sqeaked but then i got mine undercoated and they lubricated the hinges and the noise went away
  24. i had a exhaust rattle a little while back checked everything and it was ok. Mine would rattle when slowing down from 100km/h. I narrowed it down to something loose inside the muffler and replaced that. It's gone now but only really a temporary fix for me
  25. not sure what they used but there were nice and clean, it drives much better and nice and smooth on the highway. Still could use an alignment. About this Firestone lifetime alignment does anybody know if this is available in Canada. Theres a local Bridgestone dealer nearby i wonder if they would offer it.
