  1. yeah i usually do everything myself except i don't have a balancing machine or a tire seater. Apparently there was salt corrosion and buildup on the aluminum rims so they had to clean them to get the tire to reseal properly this apparently took an extra 1/2 hour so theres where the extra came from.
  2. wow sorry i didn't look here looks like i got screwed over as usual! they quoted me 87 and then hand me a bill for 120!!! i was pissed but it did fix the problem
  3. Hey again, Just installed my new trailer hitch and i was wondering what it the most popular type of wiring. I've heard of flat 3 and 5 and then theres a round one? Which are easier to install and should i go with one that plugs into the existing harness, and particular brands? thanks for your input
  4. ya just went to the dealership and booked a rotation, balancing for all tires and a reseal for the flat one, around 80 bucks so i thought that was reasonable
  5. went to the dealership and asked, they had no idea either, wasn't coming up on the computer. The guy said the dealerships are the last ones to know when a recall has been issued
  6. Heres the transport Canada recall link: http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recalls/rec...ecno=16508&
  7. yes it does thank you! The slow leak it on the front passenger side so i guess it wouldn't help the drifting. I could just get a balance and rotation and see if that fixes the problem.
  8. Hey guys, On my 1998 Pathfinder at highway speeds 100km and up there is a shake in my steering wheel and the car wants to wonder to the right. Could this be fixed by doing an alignment or does it have to do with the half shafts? Also a tire wont hold pressure for more than a week, i think it's leaking around the rim, just re-seating it would fix it? What are your opinions on filling tires with nitrogen. What approximately would all this cost with rotation. Thanks i just don't want to look like an idiot if i go to the shop and they tell me some prices that i can't afford, save me the embarrassment also so they don't try and inflate the price. The pathfinder had 50,000 km on it so i don't think is would be the shocks. Thanks again
  9. ok so when should we all head over to our nearest nissan dealer to get this fixed. and it should be done at no cost right?
  10. guess i just put this here on my 98 i think the blub is burned out in the stereo unit when you turn on the nighttime lights. Its above the volume control on the left side. Is it easy to replace or do you have to rip into the player, its the bose system thanks
  11. nice now i can do this when my tranny goes thanks!
  12. i too was looking at a new exhaust. here its around 250ish for just the muffler part. I diagnosed my and found it to be a faulty muffler rattling so i just cut out the old one and found one at a surplus store and bolted it on. There are a couple on ebay i have emailed them before and none ship to canada. I dont know how much a muffler shop would charge to make one but i presume it would be close enough to consider. or you could cross the border buy it at one of the local auto parts stores for less than here and take it back being that the dollar is even it might prove to be a deal.
  13. nice job you could get into the biz
  14. wow its actually there! sweet too bad i know this now after but good to know for next time. should be a sticky thanks!
  15. *everybody rushes out to check under their seat*
  16. just replaced with ngk no complains. ngk was in there before and it still runs great. just watch out for that bastard number 6 plug on r50
  17. looks good i have the same interior wondering how you replaced it without taking off the airbag. nice clean job!
  18. in any case it doesn't sound like something is wrong just worried about the exhaust it drives me crazy! is $280 seem high to you for the muffler?
  19. yeah actually that sounds like it but its always off, maybe it's just cycling?
  20. Hey I have a 98 pathfinder and when i start up put it in D and drive forward after about 5 to 10 secs while moving forward there is like a sound of something engaging. almost like the hubs locking but it is in 2wd. its not a clunk but a smooth almost air or fluid sound. just wondering if this was normal. My other question is i suspect my muffler is rusted out but just want to make sure. On heavy acceleration it makes like a ricer muffler sound and when you let off the gas at speeds above 80km/h there is a very loud grinding/rubbing sound. I've tried to reproduce the sound in the driveway but it only does it under those circumstances, also if you decelerate with a little bit of gas it wont make the sound. Hitting the muffler with a rubber hammer doesn't do it either. Just want to make sure because the exhaust piece with the muffler is like 280 here and the junkyards don't have any. Thanks again for your help.
  21. would a electronic device like this one: http://scanguage.com/products/ give you mileage? I guess it would still be off if you have bigger tires
