  1. Hi Josh, I want a Diamond Plate and a white reflective. Any idea when you'll have the white reflective? Also, how do i order one of each? Thanks
  2. Yep, Let me know when you get the Reflective white and i'll get one of that , and one of the diamond plate. Thanks!
  3. Gotcha. I lived in Winooski for a year or so. I've also lived near troy ny and bennington. There's a good welding school nearby. Keep practicing, stay safe.
  4. Hi Josh, For what your doing, flux core, if applied properly, should be fine. Unfortunately, I don't think i'm capable of teaching you how to weld on the Internet. Have you cleaned the pieces before welding? What kind of amperage were you using? Also, an argon or argon/co2 bottle (Dual Shield) will help improve your results considerably, increasing penetration and shielding the molten weld puddle better, reducing contaminates/porosity. What are the specs for you welding machine? Sorry i can't be more helpful. I'm not sure where to start. -Clean base metal -Proper machine setup -Correct Filler metal -Stickout distance -Travel Speed -Torch angle -Torch manipulation Generally, flux core is a great hobby weld wire. Good penetration with minimal user training required and rapid deposition rates. Although to be honest, i can't remember when i used it last without shielding gas... Keep practicing, and try Lincoln Electrics website for pics a suggestions, they have a very helpful online education area.
  5. Wow! That DP looks sweet. So I think my last question is, are these mounted inside the window or out? That looks so good, i'll have to put one on the car lol.
  6. If my Pathfinder and I are still alive, count us in! That would be cool, if it isn't too complicated. I like simple and clean.
  7. Why a Pathfinder? Originally i wanted a roomy and reliable 4x4. The Grand Cherokees have a long history of electrical issues, the Durango we test drove handled like crap, the 4runner just was spartan and the seats were practically on the floor (not comfy). The pathfinders had a GREAT customer satisfaction history, my SE has a bose 6 disk with with steering wheel controls and super comfy front and rear seats. It really had everything i was looking for. And the price i got it for, wow, we lucked out. But it was always intended to be a utilitarian vehicle for us. Anyway, i always hoped to mod it, but wanted to wait till it was paid off. Now, with the help of the great people of this board, I've made it into my "Man Mobile" and REALLY love it. I'm not super thrilled with the UNibody or McPherson struts, but it's never let me down. OH, and like Simon said, this thing is super unique where i live. I've never seen another modded pathy around here. Jeeps and pickups galore, but no pathfinders. I like that, even if it's a drag theres so little after market support. I'd also like to emphasize, this website and the great people on it have really been a huge part of my current truck, and the love i have for it. I don't think without them i would have been able to polish this gem.
  8. Wow, No joke. I've wondered about that. I wish i could turn that plug in till it's flush at least.
  9. SWEET Josh! I'd love to see the NPORA sticker in the diamond plate if you have the time. I wonder if it will have large enough surface area to be able to tell its even diamond plate. They look great. Another suggestion is some wanted a larger one for the front upper windshield. Thanks for the effort and deal, i'll order when i decide the colors i want.
  10. Well, i got to drive it around a bit today. I didn't notice any negative effects. I might be imagining it, but the ride seemed a little plusher? I may re-install it though, i'm not thrilled about having to trim those flares.
  11. Ok. I checked the sight and didn't see anything. How do i buy them? Maybe you should start your own thread on this for better visibility?
  12. That sucks so bad. I'm sorry for ya man. I hope you had back up transportation. Oh, and thanks for the heads up for others in the future.
  13. Well, looks like i have to trim the rear fender a little. I haven't road tested it yet, but i love the flex. A little bummed i've gotta trim the fender, but what can you do? I don't want to tear the thing off in a pinch.
  14. I love my Uniden PC68 elite with weather. It's small so it fits in the dash cubbie space under my radio with no problem, but it's internals are top notch. The radio tech that peaked and tuned mine for me says it's the only 40 channel he'll work on. He said the others are too cheap to be worth the hassle. He gave me specific component examples, but it was all greek to me lol. I also get great performance from my wilson 5000 antenna. i hardly listen to my radio anymore, the cb is much more entertaining. eh, here's a pic of my setup:
  15. I understand your point, but in my defense, I've started them all by hand and used a 100# torque stick with my impact previously. The problem seemed to occur only when removing them, only in the last 1/4 of the nut, and only on the front tires. Irregardless, since I've stopped using my impact, the problem has ceased. Needless to say, the thread restorer set has been handy for a temporary repair, until I take the whole assembly off again. Probably not till i replace the rotors with those high tech drilled and slotted lol. Sorry for the thread Jack, your welcome for the help pathrider, good luck. Oh, and if you haven't already, this might be a good time to install some warn manual hubs since your in there. Amazon has them cheapest i could find, and with free shipping.
  16. Hello, I had to do this also. I've stripped a total of 5 at different times so far. I can't figure what i'm doing wrong, so i've stopped using my impact and do them all by hand now. I've also been able to save some with this set: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?...L&ihtoken=1 It's allot easier than taking it all apart. Use this thread to get the rotor off, and then tap out the studs from the front. Then re-install and draw the stud in with some cut washers and a lug nut. Here's the thread: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11266 And yep, should get a new bearing gasket and re-pak. Have fun.
  17. Apparently not just recent, maybe just most recent. See here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread....ight=rocky+road Info i wish i had before. I like to know as much as i can before i send my money, but i missed this. Hope it helps others out.
  18. Do a quick search for black panther armor here. Pm runnerman (Marcel). Great stuff! good luck.
  19. For your own sake, read the links pezzy posted. Everythings in there. Good luck, let us know what you decide...
  20. I believe your referring to Dan (Vengeful). He bought 4crawler sliders off someone with an older R50. Difference is, 4crawler uses the factory step mounting bolts. Those appear to be alike. RRO uses holes drilled through the pinch seem and then more holes drilled through the frame. Next, refer to my other two threads from there... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...mp;#entry251681 http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...mp;#entry248104
  21. If there is any difference, this might be it. But i'm basing that thought on a general rule of thumb that a 1/4" fastener should have a 1/4" of base material all around to provide proper anchorage. They did not in this case. I emailed the "head engineer" and owner (glen) inquiring about this, but received no direct answer. I also tried to use pics from here of others who had installed successfully, but it wasn't clear from them. So this is only an observation at this point, since i have nothing else to go off.
  22. Oh, i totally get your point. I am more than willing to take responsibility for deciding to purchase them on advice i gleamed on the net. Not my point at all. To try to simplify, i ordered sliders for a 99. No argument there. Issue is, i believe the sliders i received wouldn't have fit a 99 either, due to the pinch seem bar being welded on slightly crooked. That bar, as i explained in the other thread was off just slightly. Maybe 1/4", but over the course of the entire run, ended up being off too much to mount. Every thing else was perfect. All Glen needed to do, was email me (since he refused to answer the phone or call me) the dimensions the bars would need to be at. Then, there would be nothing for me to say if the dimensions were indeed right. I would have chalked it up to bad advice, cut the pinch seem bar off and put it on right, issue resolved. Instead, he was more than evasive about the issue. I could highlight the whole 3 week ordeal, but i've wasted enough of my life on it. I believe they would have worked if they were assembled correctly (for a 99), and went out of my way to try to explain this to help him out, think of the extra sales, but he was impossible to communicate with. Hope this makes sense, i tend to run on, and i suck at writing. I'm sharing my interpretation of the experience only to assist others in making the decision. I found his sales guy Charlie and office manager Carol very helpful, but everything they tried to make right, he undermined over and over. I'm waiting on 4crawler sliders now, as i should have done in the first place. Try to save a few bucks, and it will cost you more in the end it seems. Best of luck.
  23. Yep, learn from my mistake. It cost me about $150 in shipping. RR is a pain in the A$$ to deal with if you have any problems. I spent two weeks trying to clarify the issue with the owner via email. He wouldn't answer the phone or even call me to resolve what i believe was a fabrication error. He refused to provide me with the dimensions the sliders were supposed to be at so i could check my pair to verify proper assembly. No instructions or hardware were included with my kit, and they claimed they were going to send them, but they never arrived. So, although i would have liked to say they work, they do not. Proceed at your own risk.
  24. Wow, thanks for the heads up. I did as you suggested and went with 15" over 16" also, and my next project is a similar conversion to better rotors. I'm curious what backspacing you had, and if you had any pics of your grind job? thanks again. Great warning to have. I would have shat myself lol.
