  1. I agree. It almost seems like you get all giddy when you see a gun crime happen here in the States. Your opinion is perfectly clear. I agree that there should be more control on guns. I'm a gun advocate, but I think there should be licensing for rifles as well as handguns. Rifles and shotguns are WAY too easy to get. Legally. If I were to go on a shooting spree (not that I would), a shotgun would be my weapon of choice. And you can go to WalMart and buy one. They just won't sell you the shells at the same time.
  2. Don't even get me started. I'm so friggin sick of this overly sensitive, hyper-P.C. society that we live in here in the States that I want to puke!!! Getting arrested for throwing a snow ball? I remember when you wouldn't get arrested for throwing a left hook! What is it with these people. And no HO, HO, HO? Where else can we come up with some twisted interpretation? Yeah, Santa is calling women whores. Maybe the ones who brought that one up are whores and are a little too sensitive about it. These people need to grow thicker skin. The world is a tough place, and if Santa hurts your feelings, then that's too friggin' bad! Sorry for the rant...

Sweet. Are there any oil pan clearance issues? I have a line on an entire Q45 for close to free. I've always loved the VH45 and I know they are under rated from the factory. They usually dyno between 305-310hp. The only research I've done on them is to stuff one in my 240Z. The intake is too tall and the oil pan interferes with the front crossmember. I haven't looked into it for my pathy. How well did it fit in yours?
  4. I know this probably doesn't belong here, but there is a brand new set of NISMO 16x7 Bronze wheels for sale for $650. Made by RAYS eng. "Buy it now" auction. I have no connection to the guy, I just stumbled across what looks like a smokin' deal.

Not only width issues, but a very tall motor. I've been looking into one for my 240Z. Also oil pan to crossmember issues. Really nice motor that makes good power, but it's a big bugger.

Where the hell did you get those dyno numbers. There was NEVER a factory GM 4.3L that made 300hp. The most powerful 4.3L was the X code motors that came in the Syclone and Typhoon. They were both turbocharged and intercooled and they were rated at 280hp. I think your university's dyno was a little off. The new 6.0L V8 makes just a little north of 300hp.
  7. My Pathy's black, hence Dark. It's also a '94XE. Not too much thought put into it.
  8. Nope. The 6x5 is the bolt pattern. 6 lugs 5" lug spacing. The pathy is a 6x5.5" pattern, so the 6x5 wont work. Early Toyota wheels will also work if you didn't already know. My wheels are actually Chevy Suburban wheels that I had the centers machined to fit. Hope that helps.
  9. I've had mine on my '94 (I know, different animal) and I love it. Not much lift, but it flexes nicely and rides great. Smooth on the highway and very contolled on the back roads. They seem to have the damping rates on the shock spot-on. I learned not to cheap out on suspension parts on my cars. Every time I did, I hated it. Spend the money, it's worth it.
  10. I'm sorry, but I believe that the parents should be criminally charged for the violent actions of their children. These people act as if it's someone else's responsibility to raise their kids. They dump them off at school and that's it. Maybe if the penalties are a little steeper, the parents might "parent" their children. It's a problem with society in general. Not enough people are held accountable for their actions. It's so easy to say "he has had a history of mental issues", the kid has a violent history. WTF!!! why is he in a school with other kids when he had threatened to stab other kids in the past and blow up the school in the past. He's 14 years old and was arrested for beating up his mother??? Why wasn't he in jail or at least juvenile custody to begin with? Where's his father? Children need fathers!!! Our society these days really sucks, but I don't think guns are to blame. I grew up around unlocked guns, but never once thought of touching them. Why? BECAUSE I HAD A FATHER!!! If I touched them, I would get my ass kicked, and that's what these friggin kids need, a good ass kicking from their parents. They have no respect for anybody and that needs to end. Okay...I feel better now...I'll get off my soapbox
  11. Lookin good I can't wait to hear what kind of power increase you realize. I have a spare motor and tranny crying for a rebuild, but I'm a sucker for the small block chevy...
  12. I love my Old Man Emu shocks, but they were a little pricey.
  13. Yeah, I had the pleasure to drill and helicoil three of mine on the driver's side this Monday. What a PITA!! The stinkin broken studs just refused to come out! Oh well, a few hours and a LOT of swearing and it's all done. SOOO nice not to have that ticking noise. Get in there and do it yourself. You'll feel better after your done... a real sense of acomplishment. Good luck and have fun. Oh yeah, beer helps
  14. I agree with Redpath, I live in CT and my frame was toast. Nothing a bunch of 1/8" plate, plasma cutter and a Millermatic 250 couldn't fix. Remember to check the floor under the rear seats. Pay special attention to the rear suspension pickup points. Good luck and great find for $400. Oh yeah... I bought mine for $300...
  15. That's all I was trying to get across. Knock down the high spots and you should be good. Great work. You should get at least a little increase in power from a mild port job. Most of my experience is with Datsun L series sixes, and you can see a noticable difference with a mild port job. Hopefully the increase will be substantial with the aftermarket cams. What are the cam specs?
  16. I welded some 1/4" thick tabs to the floor bars and bolted it to the factory roof rack. There are some little adjustable doodads in the cross bars on the factory rack, they look like nut-serts, I just bolted into them. I made sure to use lock washers and loctite. I'll get some pics posted when I get my camera back from the little lady.
  17. Sorry, not selling them. If you saw my welds, you wouldn't want one. I'm still getting the hang of it. Thin wall tubing is a PITA to weld. I'm welding everything in site, trying to get some practice before I build my bull bar.
  18. The wheels are factory Chevy Suburban alloys. They came off an '88- 1/2 ton Suburban. I had the centers machined out to 100mm and painted them bronze.
  19. That's a good idea. Maybe I'll taper the next one. It's a little taller than 6". The verticals are 6" and the main tubes are 3/4", so overall height is 7-1/2". It'll look a lot better when I get some lights and a high lift jack on it.
  20. Thanks, I need to get a better handle on my welding skills though
  21. Here's a couple of pics of my new rack
  22. Looks great. I'd pay attention to those casting marks in the combustion chambers though. The little high spots could cause hot spots and thus detonation. I'd just smooth them out. Just my 2 cents. Great work.
  23. Just a teaser... I'm in the process of building a Safari Rack tonight. I've actually been working on it for a couple of nights now. It's dimensions are 44x60x6" deep. I'll get some pictures up as soon as it's done. Wish me luck
  24. Mine was bogging pretty badly... I replaced the fuel filter and it went away. Hope that helps.
