  1. I have the OMEs and it rides like a Cadillac. Very happy with them. I might part the truck out. Care to make me an offer?
  2. The bodies are almost identical from 1970 to 1978. Little things changed like turn signals and bumpers. They got heavier as they got newer. There is nothing wrong with the 260Z...except the carbs. They sucked. You could get a 260 and bolt early 240 carbs on to solve the problems they have. The early 260z had the nice small chrome bumpers, like the 240s. Half way through 74 (260Z) they changed to the 5mph bumpers which were big, ugly, and heavy. Luckily, you can put the early bumpers on the later cars (74-78).
  3. Just try not to draw attention to yourself. The TI's or Drill Instructors will make your life a living hell. Don't fall for the old "who's a good bowler?" trick. They'll make you "latrine queen" (toilet washer). Good luck. Keep you head down and watch your back.
  4. I'm rockin' a Yamaha Razz 50cc scooter AKA "the Yamahammer". Luckily I live only about a mile away from work. It only goes 27mph.
  5. Oh my God, Kitta. I know this is an old thread, but how's your Dad? My father committed suicide back in '89. It changed my life forever. Kinda struck a chord when I read that. I hope everything is OK.
  6. PLEASE don't take this the wrong way... Are your tires properly inflated? I alway look at the most simple retarded thing first. Then I'd check you panhard bar.
  7. Welcome! Take a good look at your frame. Don't be scared, they usually look really bad, but with a welder and some 1/8" plate steel, they're pretty easy to fix! Have fun with it.
  8. I'd like to take the time to wish everyone a happy and safe new year!
  9. HAs anyone here used a regular boat anchor for that?
  10. See, you did not mention any other mods when you started this thread. Camshafts will absolutely change your dynamic compression ratio, although they will not change you static compression ratio. And you didn't say that you fiddled with your ECU. One of the most common things to do when tuning your ECU is to play with the knock sensor threshhold. When you do this (I don't know if you did) you ABSOLUTELY need to run higher octane fuel. Higher than 87 that is. Not know what you had done to you truck, I had assumed that you were talking about a stock motor. You need to clarify before saying that home made 94 octane will outperform 93 octane pump gas. I personally don't think you're on the ragged edge and 1 octane point would make any difference at all, but what do I know, I've only been building and working on high performance cars for 15 years. But yes I would say that you should run high octane in a motor with aftermarket cams and a tuned ECU. And you should lay off the caffine :coffee!:
  11. I have noticed no difference in performance in my 94XE. As for the fuel prices, look at the bright side, we still have some of the cheapest gas in the world.
  12. Thank you for the compliment on my rims. The fuel requirement for a 98 Pathy in 87 octane. I don't think you would notice any improvment in performance with using higher octane. You should use a stopwatch and check to see the difference, if any. I would be surprised, but I've been wrong before. For what it's worth, I used 93 octane in my Suby 2.5RS when it said it only required 87. I didn't see any difference in performance, but I did see a slight improvment in fuel mileage.
  13. The the American people will swallow anything put in front of them, you know what... I'm out. I'm not going to indulge you in another pissing contest. Maybe you should come live over here for a while before you make judgements.
  14. The American people will swallow anything put before them. Iraq is a blaring example as to how facts didn't get in the way of a 'good ol' payback patriotic war'. Nope, unfortunately the good people of the USA are too uninformed to form an opinion either way, let alone stopping another illegal war. I think this is making an unfair generalization, don't you? Aparently not, seeing that you wrote it.
  15. Vsicks, I understand that the US and Australia a similar in land mass, and that you have the most deadly critters, but wouldn't you want to be prepared if you came across something nasty if you were walking through the bush? But hey, I get where you're coming from. But I think there should be more people control. I think we outnumber you guys by a fair bit, thus there being a larger number of morons per capita. It's these people that ruin it for everybody. And our media is a little out of control. Sensationalism is there game and everybody buys into it. And sorry if I respond badly sometimes, you DO make unfair generalizations about Americans and portray us all as moronic gun toting criminals. There are a large number of us that are law abiding, good people that also own firearms.
  16. Where are you? I have a spare set of leggo wheels painted bronze and a spare set of chrome steelies
  17. I live in america too. Anyway, I think your ideas of octane and detonation resistance are a little confused. And what do your coil packs have to do with caring about detonation? Your engine doesn't "see" octane. It "hears" detonation and advances or retards your timing accordingly. If you're getting any detonation at all you have problems. And you ECU can only advance the timing to a certain degree, so I your fuel (lets say 93 octane) is stable up to the temperature and cylinder pressure that your motor can generate at that maximum timing, anything over that 93 octane is a waste. I can't imagine on a VG33 in a pathy, the timing curve is very agressive. Sorry for the novel and I hope I didn't confuse you.

    CUP HOLDER!

Get an automatic and hold drink with you right hand. Then you won't spill anything
  19. Agreed. Vsix, how much of the US do you think is suburbia? Not to sound like a jerk, but do have any idea how big the US is? There is a LOT of undeveloped land, and you DO sometimes stumble across animals that can do you harm if you don't do them harm first. It's a real pain to haul around a long rifle. That would be the only reason I would carry a sidearm. Any other time, they're more hassle than they're worth. Anyway, I understand your point. There are already a lot of regulations in place for the LEGAL purchase of handguns. It's long rifles that should be controlled a little more tightly in my opinion. Vsix, I must appologize in advance to you, because I too can come across as a little abrassive, and mostly I do not intend too. And I think we need a little more people control to go with our gun control and start holding people (parents) accountable, and stop letting the lawers get people off. (that sounded dirty) Oh, and we have quite a few Coyote here in suburbia

Cool. Keep us posted. I'm keeping my eye out for an affordable GM 6.0L
  21. Careful, that stuff will give you cancer
  22. Yeah, I think the definition of " semi-auto" needs to be clarified. Any weapon that does not need to be cocked between rounds is semi-auto. That also includes revolvers. Many people carry sidearms for self defense against animals. Stumble upon a rattlesnake of wild boar and you'd wish you had a .45 on you.
