Let me know if you go!!
-
Well you defiantly could do a SAS but it would be expensive and a lot of custom fab work. I found an older post from pirate 4x4 with a pretty good write up on it. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/nissan/1116165-1998-nissan-pathfinder-r50-sas.html I considered doing this myself but you could honestly buy an 80 series Land Cruiser for less and they come with electric lockers stock . You could do a sub frame drop for a lot less and install one of the Lokka lockers and have a pretty mean rig (thats what I think I will end up doing). There is a few people on these forums that would build you a sfd kit for around $400.

Ok well I guess one of these days I will do a dana 44 rear swap because I am defiantly not spending 1000 plus dollars on an air locker. For now the LSD will have to do.
-
Has anyone installed this locker in their rig? I have a 97 with LSD but i know of where an open differential is to swap.
-
If you want to fit 33's without a lot of trimming your best bet is a sub frame drop. I have the 2" ac lift with 31's now and thats about all it will fit without excessive trimming not to mention the lift coils make the truck ride pretty rough.
-
I never thought of that. I'll start looking!
-
What would you want for the front ARB and what is the E-Locker? The air setup seems pretty legit but also real complicated but that might just be me .
-
Mines got 170k with a rear main leak now plus its got about 500 dollars worth of sensors that need to be replaced causing me to get 12 mpg!
-
I will be contacting you in the future then.
-
Shoot my 3.3 is a turd . What would be sweet is if you could swap the 5.6 out of a Titan into an R50 . I guess i'll just stick with 3.3 for now.
-
Do you know if the 5 speed from a 97 r50 would mount up to a 3.5?
-
Is that for a 4"?
-
I have an LSD in mine. Did you repack the discs so it wouldn't slip as easy? I had heard of people doing this but i don't know how well it works. I really just don't want to fork over $1000 plus for the air locker. If I did both the front and rear ARB locker like XPLORx4I would have over two grand in the diffs alone . I will probably just end up getting the lokka and seeing how it does then go from there. Thanks for the input .

Can you build a sfd??
-
So probably my best bet would be to wait and get the ARB rear first then get the lokka. I use my rig for pretty rough trail riding and with open diffs I can't really keep up with the locked guys . I will eventually build a sfd and move to 33's . I think having locks differentials helps more than having more lift. ARB is high as a tree though. Did you put yours in yourself or did you have to take it somewhere?

Would you use the ARB over the lokka in the front? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How do you like the ARB? Will it work with an LSD diff? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey everybody i'm thinking about swapping my rear end to something that has an available locker. I was thinking about using a dana 44 or a ford 9". Has anyone done this before?
-
Ive been doing some research on lockers for my 97 Pathfinder and all i've found that is reasonable is the Lokka. Has anyone used these before and does anyone know if the NIS-FO-182 is the right one for my rig?

My rig did decent at uwarrie. I have a 2" ac lift and 31's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift Springs and Strut Spacers
97Pathfinderman replied to 97Pathfinderman's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Ok thank you so much for your help. I think what I will do is take the spacers off and put the springs on and make sure that the perch is aligned the right way. hopefully this will give me the right amount of lift. -

I will definitely look at the upper perches and see if I have them turned wrong. Everything in the rear is good because the lift has been on about 6 months and they have been fine. About the coils, would it be safe if I milled down my existing strut spacers from 1.5 inches to 1 inch then put the 2 inch coils on? I already have the coils and I cannot send them back so it would be a huge waste of money if I cannot use them. -

The front is definitely more than one inch lower than this back and it is noticeably different. I may have the spring perch rotated the wrong way I am not sure because we rotated it to get the longer bolts in for the spacer and I don't know if we put in the right position when we reinstalled it. Would this really cause that much of a difference? I will try to get some pictures uploaded as soon as i can. My truck is parked a couple of miles from my dorm so I can't get to in now. -

It may be about normal but the spacer kit I purchased said that it would lift my truck two inches front and back and it lifted the front way less than it lifted the back. I am measuring from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender flair. There was not a noticeable rake on it when it was stock and this really blows my mind. I honestly want to rip the damn IFS out and sas it but if I can just get it to sit level without a lot of trouble then I will be happy. The reason why I am making a big deal about this is because it looks like crap with the rake. -

I'll count the coils when I get a chance and get back with that. The two inch coils I have now are a lot thinker and I think have coils. I actually remeasured the difference in hight today and the back is between an inch and a half and two inches taller than the front. It is not 3 inches different, I must have measured it wrong but I think if I mill down the front spacers that I have now and add the 2 inch coils then it will sit better. Even if it is a little taller in the front than the back I won't mind it. I would rather have it a little taller in the from than back anyways.
