  1. I found my Warranty info.... Clearly written in the book in the glovebox. So I called Nissan today and after giving them my VIN they are telling me that it is not covered. WTF? So a Warranty Specialist is suppose to call me.
  2. Most belts have marks on them... Use these marks. When I replaced mine I thought the belt had jumped and as I turned it over a few times the marks were further and further off. As I found out this is by design. The marks on the belt don't hit the same spot with each rotation of the motor. I had to loosen the idler pulley to reinstall my belt.
  3. I'd go for the swap. If you have a good runner and are handy you could swap parts from a bad tranny $600 craigslist special.
  4. I resoldered everything and that's how I got my locks to work (They didn't work at all when I first got it). When I first start the Pathfinder the doors will lock. When I turn the key off they unlock.
  5. I know the locks are connected to the timer in the rear of the pathfinder... but what exactly is the purpose of the auto locking doors. And it is easy to disable? I knew it would happen... and today I locked my keys in the ignition while I was working on it. Luckily I was home and grabbed the spare. But I've decided I don't care for my locks to have a mind of their own. I am capable of locking my doors when I need to.
  6. Got my Warn hubs today... Easy enough to install. Instructions were crap. Only thing I was surprised with was that the stock Lego wheels hole needed to be made slightly larger.
  7. Good to know. I will check that tag. I wanted something that would go in the snow we get once in a while here in Oregon. And I didn't care for the look of street tires on the pathfinder. I know I will lose some mileage, but it's not my everyday driver. I have a Prius for that. Got my hubs today and I'm close to done. My $700 pathfinder cost me a bit to complete, but hopefully will be a solid rig. Rear has ZJ springs cut down to bring in line with the front. I think I need to lose the chrome mirrors and chrome rear bumper.
  8. I haven't driven it much... My goal is 20 MPG. It's my quad hauler. With a Vg33 and electric fan, no AC I'm hoping to get 20 MPG. I needed the 4WD for some occasional sand/dirt/mud that's typically packed on the road. I'm going to change the rear dif oil in hopes to bring the LSD back to life, if not I will probably rebuild that as well. As for rubbing, no the tires are way inside the wheel wells. I thought about replacing the rims, but for now will run with the LEGO's. Tires have a little howl but not horrible. You can have a conversation inside.

  10. Any idea what they weigh? I lowered it back down to stock height today and it looks much better. My Warn hubs should arrive tomorrow and then it's off for an alignment.
  11. Guy at the auto parts told me that 100k is good for these. Not sure the truth to that but I'm @ 285k and doubt they have ever been done.
  12. So tackling my next item... My Seat Belts don't wind back up like they used to when it was new. What can be done to fix that? I just throw them into the seat, but the wife had issues with this. I just want to do the front 2.

  16. Okay put some smaller 235/75-15's on today. Nice aggressive tread, not too loud inside. I'm quite pleased. These are Kenda Kelvers KR29 I'm going to tweek the torsion bars down about an inch or so. Looks silly all jacked up with little wheels on it. But in the process they told me they couldn't align it because there was play in the wheel. So today I put new bearings, ball joints and tie rod ends on it. So to the alignment shop this weekend it goes.
  17. What are you thinking for "Rear Traction Device"? Mine's got the factory LSD but doesn't seem to be working. I priced new clutches and while they are reasonable, it looks like a huge job.
  18. So like most of you your little bulbs running various items have long since stopped working. I decided to tackle my HVAC lights today. Takes less than 30 minutes and cost under $10. Sorry I didn't do a very good step by step, but you will get the idea and see the results. I disassembled the HVAC unit. Removed the 2 bad bulbs and using some White LED's on a cut by the inch roll I cut off the amount needed. The Leds are installed where the clear and white plastic meet. They are easily separated with a pair of needle nose pliers. The LEDS just sit behind the clear plastic and are easily held into place with some black electric tape. The tape also keeps any light from bleeding behind your unit. You also solder 2 wires to the strip. +12v and ground. It then lights up something like this. The lighting is smooth and perfectly balanced. Once assembled your LEDS get wired back to the factory bulbs. You dimmer function will still work. Note: The LEDS must be wired correctly. Positive is the side of the bulbs towards the centers (either front or back) and the Negative leads go to either outside. The circuit board is easily soldered to directly. And these LEDS should outlast your pathfinder. When you are done.. it will looks better than factory. (Still have the cig lighter to do, and the foot wells). I will do it the same way.
  19. Update: I took both sides apart yesterday and couldn't really see any signs of wear. I cleaned everything, reinstalled and still no go, 4WD just isn't working. So I just bought a set of Warn manual hubs. I wanted to go with the cheaper set, but didn't like the feedback of folks breaking them because of the plastic parts. So I paid a bit more for the Warn units. Just a new set of rubber on this thing and I think I will be done... Or am I never done?
  20. Anyone rebuild their autohubs? I know there is a thread here, but I wanted to check with someone that has done it. Looks like it's about $70 + $26 shipping for new clutches, thrust washers and spring. I took mine apart and it was a mess of grease, With 285k on my Pathfinder I'm sure things are worn out. I'd prefer to have autohubs over manual locking.
  21. I ordered a keyless system (push button start). I haven't gotten it yet, but will let you know how it goes. It's RFID so I can leave my keys in my pocket.
  22. I've heard the mechanical fan robs 8-16hp from the motor. I haven't broke in my motor yet and this is a new rig for me so I couldn't tell you if it's better. It pulls about 10 amps of power and I bought the biggest one I could. 16" 2500 CFM and bought a thermostat for it as well. I like how quiet the motor is without it and that the fan can run wide open at low rpm's including at stop lights. I don't think cooling is going to be an issue. It's also a manual so I don't have the trans cooler.
  23. I just did a Vg33 swap... got rid of the mechanical engine fan and it's a 5 speed so it has that going for it. I ditched the rear tire mounted on the back, that had to weight close to 100 lbs. I know it's hard to have your cake and eat it too.
  24. Good point, Yeah... I just read that, the guy that put these on his jeep lost 3 MPG. Argh They do offer these in 32" but think I would need a LIFT to make it look good. I'm not opposed to lifting it but didn't want a 15 MPG rig to haul my toys.
