  1. replaced all 4 ball joints, both tie rods (full rods were cheaper than just getting all 4 ends, go figure ) and centerlink. Visual alignment done till I can get it to the shop in the morning, steering wheel is a bit off center right now (about 45 degrees but the wheels are straight enough to get me to the shop tomorrow so all good
  2. mounted 1 on the center console lid, screwed it onto a small piece of sheet meat (cut to fit from an old computer case) then epoxied that to the top of the console lid. took a bit of getting use to as it sits a bit further back than is natural but is fine now i'm use to it
  3. Ripped the rear weather shields off and sanded the (surface) rust off, hit it with wax and grease remover and will undercoat it later today when its cooler
  4. Plastidipped wing mirrors and trim on rear hatch, will be doing wipers (front and rear) tomorrow if wind stays away
  5. UHF and antenna installed, found my high pressure hose for power steering is split so time to get a new one as soon as the shop opens
  6. There's a few of you perth guys on here, bit far for me to go for a weekend BBQ though
  7. 32s are the magic number in Queensland (can only add 5cm to original VIN plate size) so now just need to find some 15x8 patrol rims on gumtree for the right price
  8. TY, small lift is all thats legal here (2+2) and have a set of 15x7s so ight go 33x10.5 till I can afford to lift it (damn disability pension doesnt pay enough lol) Not use to a stock height truck or being limited to 4" lift either, last truck (hilux) had a 3+3 and patrol before that had 4+3 so still learning the pathy and Queensland laws
  9. Anyone know what max size tyres will fit under a wd21 with no lift and what backspacing they'll need to fit on (preferably) 15 x 7s
  10. Nothing to her but rang around trying to chase up a new pitman arm, idler arm and tie rod ends
  11. Especially as most people think they have to floor it when snatching you out
  12. 1st off Never loop snatch straps through themselves if you can help it, just like tying knots it creates a weak point, potentially halving (or worse) the strength of the strap. Get rated shackles and the best way to use them with the hard mounted D rings and a strap is ring to ring with the strap on the pin, this spreads the load across the length of the pin, this prevents the shackle twisting and putting all the load on 1 corner of the pin (same as snatching at high offset angles) causing catastrophic failure (yes I've seen it happen) Another option (best n my opinion) would be to use shackles on both D rings to connect an equalizer strap between them then a snatch strap through the equalizer strap, this spreads the load out even more and causes less stress to the bar/D rings/shackles etc.
  13. You dont remember where from do you? I need vents myself lol

  17. Not here you cant, fab is a damn ripoff in Australia, just going to have to get my ass into gear, design one myself then head down to the workshop and push the team mechanics (we have 4 drag cars) out of the way while I build it
  18. HRT (Holden) 427 monaro will be there, of course it's an extremely limited edition (only 2 on road cars made) but even the lower spec'd HSV GTS monaro should be there as well. Also the Maloo R8
