  1. The slave cylinder was just recently replaced when my clutch pedal dropped to the floor, aparently it blew or something and i lost all of the fluid. The mechanic said everything else looked good so im not worried about it. And the clutch comes with an alignment tool.
  2. Alright, yesterday i drove my pathy home and ran great, this morning started it up and drove out of my driveway onto the road and could immediatly feel the clutch starting to slip. I have known the clutch has been ****** for awile, and have been takin it pretty easy. Well now its at the point where i accelerate and i can feel it slipping. So now i need to order a clutch soon. Where can i order a clutch online? And also i have been thinking of doing the project myself and am asking anyone who has done it or has helped do it how hard is it? Would i be better off pulling the tranny or the engine. How many friends should i have to help out? What do i need to complete the installation, and how long should it take if everything goes smoothly? Also, about how long do i have before the clutch completely @!*%s the bed?
  3. Well what exactly does the trailmaster lift do to lift up the front. I know it drops the torsion bars but how does that lift the front end up without cranking the t bars? In the picture they have on the website the lower a arms are horizontal just like stock, not angled downward like after cranking the the torsion bars.
  4. Alright, well now that its almost time to lift my pathfinder, i have contemplating a few different ideas. I was originally going to go with a 3 inch body lift and 3 inch suspension. So heres my first question, to those who have installed or helped install a body lift how hard was it to do? What problems could i run into? Now for my next question, was is the maximum possible lift that i can get out of the front independant suspesion?
  5. Yes, less rotating mass will give you better gas milage. I dont think it would help a ton but deffinatly better gass milage.
  6. Has anybody here tried using Engine Restore when they are changing their oil? What it does is fill in microsopic leaks in your cylider walls. Ive only changed my oil once since i have gotten it and put restore in once. I didnt really notice a difference but supposibly its supposed to be like an overhaul in a can. http://www.restoreusa.com/
  7. probably had it tacked out with the radio cranked all the way to cali
  8. My alarm never worked and the switch didnt either, so i cut the switch out because it ws just dangling out of the dash. So what i did was follow the wire, if you take out your driver seat the alarm computer should be right there. You can just unplug it or take the plastic off your steering column and cut the wires.
  9. Ive had the same clunking problem during the winter. Has stopped now but i dont know. It was kinda like a lound humming noise, sounded like something wasnt engaged or disengaged all the way in the left front hub. And some other times when i would put it into four wheel drive i would drive forward alittle and then clunk. Like something didnt engage when i put it in 4 wheel drive.
  10. Would it be possible to use a 4" Trailmaster lift, combined with new upper control arms, and JGC springs. To achieve a 6 inch suspention lift. Or will the lower control arms not swingdown that far?
  11. http://performance.thepartsbin.com/basket....mp;brandid=3827 4th one down or the last ones will work.
  12. If im cranking up my torsion bars sould i lift the front of the truck off the ground or just let it sit on level ground?
  13. Have you checked your oil recently? I had a friends engine start ticking and we checked the oil and it was extremely low. Put as much oil in as we could afford which was only like 2 quarts. Soon after on the 30 min drive home the engine just seized up. If the oil is the case stop driving immediatly and put oil in.
  14. I really dont trust puttin a 45 pound bike on those racks. I think im gonna get a hitch, and a hitch mount rack.
  15. Actually im the bike rider, i put those on.
  16. Try starting the car, and press a bar of soap up against the underside of the belt. Watch out for the fan though.
  17. Got some pictures of my rig, puttin on some superlift ucas pretty soon with some jgc springs and some sway away torsion bars. Still lookin around for tires.
  18. Lookin around for a budget locking diff for an 89 pathfinder. I know 88pathoffroad has one in his rig. Anyone have any suggestions or tips on what to look for? Thanks
  19. Thanks man, naw didnt get the manual with the truck.
  20. I like the blue. It looks good, also what kind of fender flares are those ive been lookin around for some.
  21. Hey guys, i just bought a 1989 Pathfinder SE-V6 off my moms friend for 850 bucks. They were the original owners, the lived out in san fran but had a summer house here in sunapee nh. The only drove the truck in the summer here and had it out in cali for awile. Truck has seen zero road salt so the body is in pretty much mint condition. No rust on the body. Not bad for an 89. Only thing wrong with it is the odometer. 233000 Miles :o Engine is still running pretty good, but i have a feeling that after that many miles its going to go soon. Im thinkin about droppin in a used motor if i can find one at a junkyard this summer. Other plans is a trailmaster 4 inch lift and a 1 inch body lift. Prob get some 34s and fit some aftermarket jeep cherokee bumpers. Ill post some pics soon. Great forum you guys got here, i like it alot. PEace
  22. On my transfercase shifter, it says 2h, 4l, n, 4h But there is only two positions that it can go into. 2 wheel drive and either 4h or 4L i cant tell. Any idea what is wrong here?
