Paint was wet lol. He had just washed it. Hood is a little faded. It has high miles (200,xxx) and I think it burns oil a little (I think), could be from leaky manifold maybe? It's a lot of little stuff I've gotta do, but I have no idea how to do most of it. The dogs are my riding buddies. P.s. Grille guard is my fave <3 mom has on on her 4 runner, hit a deer, only busted headlight lens. It's a must have

I'm in the Valley, and mileage is double cruddy right now. I had to replace the coolant temp sensor, and need to replace the thermostat tomorrow. I don't mind the gas guzzle. It's better than my mom's V8 4-Runner that we drove back and forth between Montana and Seattle. I'm not sure on exact mileage because I haven't got to drive her much yet. Need to replace exhaust manifold, and the therm before I waste anymore gas lol.

It was the one in the front, right on top. Had a yellow connector. I'm going to try to replace the therm tomorrow. How hard can it be? O.o This is what the coolant sensor looked like that I replaced, but it's grey. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MPI0/29305/01392.oap?year=1995&make=Nissan&model=Pathfinder&vi=1212006&ck=Search_coolant+temperature+sensor%21s%21sender_1212006_-1&keyword=coolant+temperature+sensor%21s%21sender

Ok I'll try it. Is there a relay for the dash? -
So I just replaced the coolant sensor in my 1995 SE-V6 Pathfinder in hopes it would fix my temp gauge. My RPM gauge also sticks at around 3000 as soon as the vehicle is on. The new sensor is in, and it seems like it registers it being as when I disconnect it it says check engine. I am not sure if I have to clear codes or disconnect the battery before I install it, but any ideas would be helpful. I'm also replacing the thermostat. Could it be I need a new cluster? All my little fuses are good.

RPM Gauge is stuck at 3000 RPMS

And now it stopped again. Doesn't seem really like it's not working now, just that it gets stuck. I replaced my coolant sensor to see if that fixed the temp gauge (didn't -.-) and it only goes up to 2500 now, but when i give it gas it goes up, and then stays at 3000. -

Awesome! I'll try the screw thing tomorrow. Hopefully that works. I can't afford to have to take it to a shop. -
I just traded my Subaru for a Pathfinder, and for some reason when you start it up, the RPS go straight to 3. Now, I have listened to the engine, and it sounds fine (aside from the ticking manifold I need to replace), and it doesn't sound like it's revving as high as that (no where near). When you shut it off, it goes back down to zero, but also doesn't seem to change while driving. What are some thoughts on what I might need to replace to fix that? I'm also replacing the thermostat, coolant temp sensor, and exhaust manifold.

This thread is going to help me a lot tomorrow! I have a similar issue, and am changing out the coolant sensor and thermostat tomorrow. I'll let you know how that works, and if that helps.

Just traded my Subaru Legacy L for a Pathfinder SE. I love it! So do my Am Staffs! Just love all the info I get off of this site to work on her. She is s great car, I just wish I could get parts faster to make her run more gas efficiently! I love working on my own car, and feels great to actually know how! Thanks for having me!
