  2. Timing belt: check

    Water pump:check

A million vacuum, water, and fuel hoses check...

My wonderful pathy is back in the game hell yeah!!thanks to all the people who have contributed on this forum that has spread their knowledge

  3. Ok so I am content with my little 3.0, but if it ever goes out I want to install a chevy 6 cyl. I know people have done it but I am looking for some in depth knowledge. I have a 94 5 speed manual 4x4...

  4. Yeah I changed it all ( bypass hose was a pita)... Everything I've put into that beast and it is still only retail about $800; but heck it's brand new practically and I can kick just about any jeeps behind that doesn't have thousands dumped into it

  5. So I am halfway with my little " tune up" and after last weeks little Incedent I decided to be proactive... Change the timing belt. To my surprise it had been changed at least once in 200k miles but the tensioner was original... It was about to crater by the sound of the bearing. Anyways now to replace the 400 vacuum lines under the intake and also the valve cover gaskets... Yay me

  6. Hey guys the manual says to loosen the rocker arms when changing timing belt, is this necessary ? Also anyone know the thread pitch and size for the timing cover ? I had the typical bottom one missing... Also who ever did the belt before didn't align it properly... The line that had FR was lined on the driver side, which I guess is the right when looking at motor. Also I cannot find my crank alignment spot on the block... Any ideas

  7. Thanks guys, and checking my earlier post, I was a little vague. It straight up died on the road and when I turned it over after coasting to a safer location, (hoping it was a freak incident that magically went away) it sounds like my v8 when the timing is 180 degrees out.., in other words you can here the spark plug firing through the exhaust... But after checking the many helpful forums here I will check my dist. Rotor for movement when cranking. If it moves then I will move on to other stuff thank y'all very much

  8. it worked, but i went from the original 235 tires to 31's, and wanted a true speedometer reading. when i put the new one in it wouldn't work. i have pulled it out and hand spun it. it registered on the dial..been working a lot so i haven't been able to pull it again to check dimensions

  9. has anyone done a non nissan engine swap?

    like a 4.3 chevy, ford 4.0

or even attempted a V8? just curious cause 3.0 are hard to find, mine is pushing 200k (i know from a 1995 quest minivan the 3.3 lasted well up to 350k and was still going before it was traded in)

but i am a gear head, and always thinking outside the box

putting in a timing kit in the next 2 weeks so i was just thinking...what if ?

  10. First off thank you npora brethren, for with out y'all all would be lost in this bias aftermarket world . Because of y'all I was able to re index my t bars with ease and do a few other things. Now here are my questions

    1) I saw the forum on how to use jeep coil springs for the rear axle, but as far as pictures to show what To do they have been deleted.. If some one could explain in depth how to cut as measure I would be grateful

    2) I have a 94 xe so I had the smaller tires, I put 31s on it and I read on a thread how you can change the vss pinion gear a part number or reference would be greatly appreciated, luckily here a my local Nissan dealership I grew up with the parts manager( my mom was employed there in the 90s ,ironically I played I the same model pathfinder that was a show room piece as mine is lol) but I could easily get the part, just need a little direction

    Thank you,

    Jason-- Santa Fe, TX
