Does anyone have a part number or pics of these clips that I'm expected to break?
-
I looked under and in the wheel wells for rust and there isn't any.
-
The rest of the vehicle is rust free
-
I knock on it with my knuckle and it's strong, I'd probably have to hammer it to break it.

Biggest tire for bone stock 04 SE?
PrecisionX replied to PrecisionX's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I have stock 04 SE wheels. http://www.finishlinewheels.com/prodimg/ALY62408U.jpg -

It literally looks like a swollen laceration that could be stitched.

My photobucket is messed up

I have a 2004 SE and I found a rust crack on the hatch pillar, near the hydraulic on the hatch. It is about a 2 inch crack, it's not soft but what the hell do I do about that and how did I get it there?!

Anyone running Pennzoil 10w30 High Mileage?
PrecisionX replied to PrecisionX's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Ok well I haven't had time to change my oil yet considering my schedule, I am a couple hundred miles over but still have the Pennzoil and filter in my truck and plan on taking it back. What would be recommended for a 5w30? What for a semi-synthetic? How about castrol? I'm going to be changing it next week when I am off from work. -
Ugh! DuraTracs are so damn expensive! What is the tread life on them anyway?

I should just swap out the 10w30, it's what the dinks at autozone said was required according to their computers which I should have known better. I'm going to take the stuff back as well as the filter and just go to NAPA like I usually do -
I read all the reviews on discount tire and there were quite a few people that had issues with them, especially in snow/ice.

I have an 04 SE with 124,xxx on it and am about to do my first oil change so I picked up some Pennzoil 10w30 High Mileage. Has anyone else here used it? Any recommendations for a filter?
-
I think I'm going to pass on the retreads
-
Are these re-treads?
-
I don't like BFG All-Terrains, they get too mucked up in anything wet and muddy, same with snow and I don't want a MT tire.
-
I don't think an MT is a good idea considering how much rain we get, even though rain creates mud I might not be able to run that size due to the aggressive tread.
-
Why and are they worth the extra money over the rest?
-
Alright well I've decided to go with 245/75/16s on stock ride height, mud-flap delete and a little scissor work makes them work fine apparently BUT! Now we're on to which one is the best for the money? The terrain: New England, mud, rocks, trails, grass, snow... everything? It's NOT a dry place, very hummid up here and sometimes we wonder where the sun is because it rains quite a bit, unpredictably. Hankook Dyna Pro ATM $130 (this can't be right) Toyo Open Country AT2 $168 General Grabber AT2 $158 Goodyear DuraTrac $179 (but I've seen some in the same size that are $200 each?) Cooper Discovery ST-Maxx $192 I obviously want the best bang for buck... I also forgot the Nitto Terra Grappler AT I think... I want the most versitile, best bang for buck, good looks obviously and that is about it.

Mine is a daily too and we do get a lot of rain. I also considered Open Country AT2s -
I searched for a DIY on how to remove fender flares from my 2004 SE to clean it up and make sure there's no rust. Is it highly likely or unlikely that ill find anything? There's no rust anywhere else on the vehicle, never even in the strut towers.

What advantages and drawbacks are there for an MT over an AT? -
I have a bone stock 2004 Pathfinder SE with 124,000 miles on it. It's a one owner, dealer serviced and maintained truck with all records and no rust. I plan on going off trail with it and getting my outdoors on. I live in a 4 season state that throws anything from snow and rocks to rain and mud. I am curious as to how capable my Pathfinder is? It currently has Yokohama Geolander H/T 255/65/16's on it now with worn tread and they are obviously not my choice, they came with it. Most people talk smack about Pathfinders because they are UNI-Body and IFS, not a 4runner or an XJ/TJ Jeep and has an open diff but maybe these aren't as bad as people make them out to be. I am not in a financial position for a lift right now, but I may need tires sooner than later and am looking for the biggest that won't cause me troubles in rubbing etc. How capable is my Pathy without a lift? Should I even worry about it? I will be doing on road/off road/off trail stuff and want something good for what might get thrown at me unexpectedly just the same as if I went out asking for it. I've considered tires such as the following but don't even really know what size would work... or if I even need a lift to hold my own? Cooper STT look great, I wanted to stay away from BFG A/T because they get too gummed up too easily and then there are the Grabber AT2's, Good Year DURA-TRAC (not even sure they have the size I'd need), I had Toyo Open Country A/T on my lifted XJ but they didn't seem to grab well. Any help, advice would be great.
