So which shifter is in the stock location? Left or right?
-
Are the 95 pathfinders a chipped key? If so can you get aftermarket or a dealer item only?
Don't think so, my 92's were just plain metal keys.
-
I was thinking 4.9 for 33's.
Sounds about right for 33s.

Without tearing the entire front of the motor down, dropping the front diff, and removing the oil pan there is no way to manually prime the pump.
What a terrible design.
-
You will only need bead locks if you find yourself running at less than 10ish PSI.
I'd say you'll need to regear for the bigger tires too.

Maybe roll it over a few times with the fuel pump fuse out to circulate the oil a little? I see people bringing out classic cars out doing that around here. No idea if it does anything though.
A better choice would be to manually prime the oil pump IMO. That way you're not cranking with no oil.

WD21 LSD is incredibly capable, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's all about tire placement and knowing your rig.
Make sure it's for the correct gear ratio and you'll be good.

 Still need to take those!
Good idea. I tried a $30 mount-to-the-fairlead from ORW but it wasn't deep enough for the Hazard Fraught (Harbor Freight) winch fairlead as it mounted between the 2 horizontal ones but maybe the Maglight clips will go over the 2 vertical ones.
I think that's why people build the Maglight mounts.

You could also do the Maglight clamps and mount the license plate to your winch fairlead.

True. Read about it somewhere on this forum at some point, maybe they had the lunch box lockers or limited slips up front.
Just a thought. Florida guy here, no snow; just hurricanes.
If you ran an LSD it would work. I can't say how well, or if there would be binding, no way to try it.
-
Isnt the trick for snow/ice to run manual hubs. Keep one locked, one unlocked and then can run 4hi while its snowing and icing with fewer issues? Essentially putting yourself into 3wd mode.
And now all the power runs to the unlocked hub.
-
4WD on pavement will cause binding, and with enough stress, will break components.
That's the first issue.
Whatever is the weak link will eventually fail.
I had transfer case gears shear teeth in a Jeep transfercase known to take the torque of most V8s.
Just my .02.

Tossed the stock cross bars for the roof rack and replaced them with Thule bars.
That were rusted out.
Then threw the keys away.

It could be the most advanced 4x4 in the world.
It means nothing if you don't know your rig, or have half a brain.

My rear defroster worked flawlessly, like it was brand new.
Used it all the time, always kept the rear window frost free.

Can't wait to see what it looks like installed.
I could go for this.- 1

I like greasable. Not too hard to frequently check it.
Can't comment on manufacturers though, the last set of new ball joints for my old pathy are still on my shelf. No one would buy them.

And I thought I looked at some garbage Hondas.

I also hear a lot abouth 4:10 gears. Been told I would be able to go about 70mph hwy but still do ok out on the trails.
I just need to be able to drive the truck to the trails and not have it gears so low that I have to trailer it. I don't think im going to try vertical waterfall rock crawling just yet , just need be able to crawl over medium terrain not hardcore stuff yet. Someone else told me I would be ok with the 3:55 ratio for a while ,, I mean hell the wagoneer they came off of was running them and I think they come on 31 inch tires don't they?
What you need to understand is that the Grand Wagooners always ran tall gears with big engines.
Pathfinders have decent or ok power, no big engine to keep it moving.
410s might work if you had a Jeep, but Pathfinders run deeper gears from the factory.
3.55 gears are not a crawl ratio, that is the axle ratio..
-
They're tall.
Deeper gears are better for off roading generally.
I have 4.88s in my Jeep for that reason.
With the 3.55s, you may find it moves too quickly off road.
Lots of factors here, there's nothing that says you don't want them.
Depending on the kind of wheeling you want to do,and your driveline set up, they may not match what you have in mind.

Good idea imo.
Execution...now that's something else.

We had on Wednesday a lady with a 350z. the tech brought the air filter out of the vehicle to the back counter to get a new one a handed to me. There was all this very very fine gritty sand coming out of the filter like playground sand. It was coming out of both sides of the filter. I showed it to the customer and suggested to the customer they change their oil as the fine particles are probably in the engine and oil, and she was uninterested in doing so. what can yuo do?
Quote them a new engine?

That add was enough to convince me they're not worth talking to.
Who is ready?
