  1. I am fairly certain, before the swap I drove it the 20 miles to the shop and it was happening then. I guess i'll try again tomorrow after my work commute and see if it's locking up. I don't have an infrared or anything to try and measure temps, just the temp gauge on my dash.
  2. So I replaced the fan clutch when I did the T-belt job because I was told that you shouldn't be able to stop the fan while the motor was running and it was up to temperature. Basically if it is supposed to be spinning it shouldn't stop spinning. I made a video to show what's happening even after the new fan clutch. I knew I should have just gone E-fan.
  3. this is an idea i've been dabbling with as well, there are plenty of thread on the forum already if you search for them. GL
  4. if you are strapped for cash and don't want to wait I would just go with the chinese rubber bushings. They are probably some form of comparable to OEM and at a minimum you will probably get what you paid for out of them. that's my 2 cents
  5. that guy did fall through, but I found a mechanic to fix my speedometer that is a welder as well. He's going to do it for around 130
  6. took it to a mechanic today, he was able to determine that it's an internal problem by hand spinning the speed sensor while another guy was in the cab watching the speedo with the ignition on. Luckily this mechanic is also willing to do the fab work for my front bumper
  7. well I ordered the red one direct from nissan based off my vin so at this point I have to assume it's correct. I figure the blue one must have been beaten up because it's the wrong diameter so only parts of the gears were catching? I'm just going to have to take it in to the shop at this point I believe.
  8. drove around for a few miles and the CEL popped up. but disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU didn't accomplish anything
  9. I have been having a problem with my speedometer not getting an accurate read. I already tried replacing the gauge cluster and I get the same problem. The speed bounces from 10-30mph regardless of how fast i'm going and occasionally the speed drops to 0mph and the CEL comes on making me believe that the supposedly new speed sensor is failing. About a month ago or more I pulled out my speed sensor to check the condition and see if it had any visible concerns before I wanted to bother installing a new speed sensor. Upon pulling it out I noticed that the pinion gear on the end was warped on the inside of the fitting allowing for a lot of play/slack/not a tight fit on the speed sensor as well as looking banged up on the ends of the pinion like it was catching on something. It is also blue (may be important?). There was also no c-clip holding it on. So I call up courtesyparts and have them send me a new gear based off my VIN #. Part shows up and it is Red, bigger diameter, and shorter in length. So I took off the old, put on the new and it is a really really tight fit but eventually I get it to go in, put the bolt back in, double check the pigtail connection, and fire up the truck. Now I get no speed whatsoever it just sits at 0mph with no CEL. So I pull out the speed sensor completely and try the extra new speed sensor (Beck/Arnley Part#0905002 for extended cab 4wd auto trans 95 hardbody pickup) that I had just in case and try to install that one with the new pinion. Still sits at 0mph with no CEL. I also tried to fit the old pinion on the new speed sensor and it won't fit because apparently the new speed sensor I bought has a shorter stem than the old one. So right now i'm just letting the new speed sensor sit in there with the new pinion wondering if resetting the ECU is required? maybe something else is wrong? maybe i'll have to concede and take it to a dealer? I can't think of any other details to include but if there is any other detail that might help troubleshoot feel free to throw it out there. Thanks again for all the help in the past/present/future that I get on these forums.
  10. went and swapped em out and everything is good
  11. i've only driven about 5-10 miles with them in. I'm sure they are still fine, I plan on driving it to the shop on base to use the press and get the races out and do it right.
  12. found a friend of a friend of a guy that works at a Nissan dealership that owns a hardbody. Hopefully we'll be getting it done this saturday. Thanks everyone
  13. Just trashed the old bearings and put in some new, the old ones literally had mud in them. Didn't think that it would be a problem to re use the old races instead of trying to get them pressed out so I just greased em up and slapped em in there. There were no gouges or signs of wear on the races from what I could see. Now at ~20mph i'm getting a metal-ish sounding squeak. Am I an idiot for not replacing the races? Or did i possibly do something else wrong?
  14. I know there are a few places that do metal fabrication in the area so I could probably see if they have some sources. Or maybe if they have some extra stock I could buy. It wouldn't even take that much steel
  15. I'm in Enterprise just outside of Ft. Rucker. It's an ARB plate bumper and I have a warn 8000 winch on it. I don't have a welder or welding skills so I pretty much just need it done for me. I'm in the middle of flight school too so I don't get many days to devote to fabbing anything.
  16. I'm going to try under cover fabworks in Dothan, AL and see what they can do for me. I still haven't been able to find someone to raise my bumper back up for me. But if anyone here on the boards is local and can do the job for me i'm willing to shell out money for someone else to do hard labor.
  17. i'm surprised you didn't use a drill to snug em up first
  18. I finally got around to putting in the radiator drop down bracket. While the mechanic had my radiator tore out for the t-belt job I told him to take a brake and went to work with the grinder. Sits much happier now =)
  19. Yeah I thought I was going to get more opportunities to get out and wheel. But some day I'll get more time. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  20. my HB needs your sas kit steeevo, but I guess if you take your time then I have a reason to save money for it =)
