Ok so i was looking around on here and found an old old post from 06 of a guy having the same problems as i am and did everything i have, he spent a few months working on the problem and finaly found the problem, it was the timeing/ distributor so im going to run the timeing light and see if my timeing is off then if it is replace the distributor and go from there.

  5. Thanks ill chec that tomorrow and let you know what i see. and i think it was the pass side i was looking at when i saw how much gas was being spraid into the intake. it sounds like its drowning when its running and you can smell its rich

Yeah i thought i had it running good last night so today i get in to go test it out on the trails and FAIL! running like crap AGAIN! changed the spark plugs, maf, tps, and cap and rotor all just in the last month. so i was messing with it most of the day and i think it is getting way to much gas, when i ran it it was ruff so i pulled the air filter and box and then looked at the intake while it was running crappy and gas was poring into the intake. think i need to analyze my fuel system. no codes on the cpu.

  10. I do not know, but today i found an entirely new problem. havnt found out what it is but it making me mad. So today i start my truck and this time its running ruff. it started fine and idled a bit high then it was just ruff running so i drove it to the shoppett like 1/4 of a mile and it was sluggish and still ruff. So in the parking lot i opened the hood and pulled te air filter off and it ran a bit better, got me 3 miles to work and back. now it seams to be a spark, fuel or dirty top end. if i leave it idle when its cool it will almost die out so i have to goose the gas a bit. all this time there is hardly any power in the motor when up shifting it sputters and seams like its either out of gas or not enuph air to fuil mix. wish i knew a good mechanic as a friend that could come over and trouble shoot with me.

  13. So i dropped my trans and replaced the rear main crank seal on my motor, had to replace the oil pan gasket to do so. When i got it all back together it ran like crap! so i started looking around and had to replace the Mass Airflow Sensor, ran i little better but not great. So i replaced the throttle positioning sensor and it ran a lot better so i removed the throttle body and cleaned to crap out of it. replaced all the vaccum lines and now she runs like a champ! i still need to adjust the clutch its all at the bottem now and im not sure what i need to do with it but it drives and a lot better than before. still have some tweeking to do with it but over all its good to go. need to redo my oil pressure swich the wires broke off and i need to replace the swich. also need to find some power in there somewhere. There is some power just not a lot.

  15. how did you mount that front bumper? i had a winch set up on my but it used the top bumber brakets and in a mudding incedent a few weeks ago i broke i off, right now the bumber is on wih only the bottom bolts and a smal small tack weld at the top. looking to re design my winch braket and plate so it is stronger.

Thanks for the starting thoughts. i did introduce myself in the new member area but if you look at my profile it tells just about all lol. i know i need to look at the full picture before startingget everything i could posibly think about before starting but i was looking for some jobs that had been done befor so i could see what i may need. i will look around the site as much as i can so i can see what all have been done. thanks everyone
  18. i have a 1987 xe 4x4 i was looking for some ideas on solid front axle convertions. what axles should i look for and what to avoid. Also i was hoping to find some info in exhost turbos and horse power upgrades. any ideas on disc break convertions for the rear end? just looking for some ideas to upgrade my truck. love my pathy and want to enjoy the next 190,000 miles im gonna put on her before she gets put down lol she has 310,000 right now.
  19. nunya, the maf has a missing wire like thing between the 2 posts. and i will bleed the clutch through a few more times i did miss the dampener bleed. Ill try that in the morning its cold and windy out. thank you for the info! hope to be driving her soon
  20. Ok, so my rear main seal went bad on my motor so a friend and i dropped the tranny and oil pan on the motor to replace it. Before doing any work the truck ran great no problmes at all, after the tranny and everything was back together there have been nothing BUT problems. First i started it up and ran like crap so i looked into it and the mass airflow sensor is compleatly messed up. found a new one online for $80 waiting for it to come in. now im haveing clutch problems. the clutch petal felt strange when i put the tranny back in so today i bled the lines and topped off the fluid now the pettle goes all the way to the floor and sticks there. nothing i can do fixes the isue. any ideas on what the problem is? i looked under the dash and everyting looks fine then i looked at the slave cylinder and it seams fine. no leaks anywhere not loosing fluid just will not stiffen up. cant even tell if it is working, idk please help

New guy from new mexico, got an 87 pathfinder from a friend before he moved away. im haveing a few issues with my clutch and my mass airflow sensor went out. the clutch i cant figure it out it was really sft so i bled it and now it gose all the way to the floor and stays there. there are no leaks fluid is maxed nothing looks out off place but the clutch is messed up. gonna look around for info on here and hope some of the other members have some good news lol
