  1. I had a gnarly squeak from my belts. Sometimes it would go away for a bit depending upon the temperature or humidity. Turned out to be coming from the idler pulley.
  2. Might just be a change in the frequency from the new bushings causing a severe/louder resonance. Also givin that it's a new/louder noise you may be focusing on it whereas you automatically ignored it before. (not sure if i explained it correctly) I'd say have have the shop take another look it as others have suggested.
  3. Studded snows are great! I have studded snows on my Pathfinder again. Bridgestone Blizzaks (I think), mounted on some nice 3 spokes. The primary reason I run studded tires is because I work nightshift. Black ice is the primary concern for me. But the studs are helpfull untill the plows clear everything. When the roads are slippery, I make an extra effort to remember that folks behind may not be running traction tires. Eg-I keep extra space in front of me at stops, giving me some place to go when the person behind starts sliding. I also ease into stops as if I didn't have traction tires. I carry chains in the back all winter as well. Nice ones I picked up out in Oregon-Les Schawlbe quick connects. Easy to get on/off. I carry the chains because calling out because of weather is not an option & also make it easier should I need to pull someone else out if they're really stuck. I've been pulled out before, so figure on paying forward whenever I can.
  4. Thanks for the welcomes, I don't know that the tire carrier was a Nissan option. Maybe just a dealer option? The dealer put on the bullbar & tire carrier, both grey & match my Pathy's color. I've been noticing other Pathy's on the road lately. I've yet to see another with the tire carrier. It's pretty rare that anyone tailgates me.
  5. Howdy, New to the forum. I'm the original owner of a 99.5 SE. My Pathfinder has been pretty good to me, doesn't owe me anything. I've taken it crossed country loaded up twice now (MA-OR, OR-MA). The first move in '07 I took my time, including camping in Yellowstone for a month and then visiting Glacier and Banff. It's pretty stock, but has the dealer add-ons of a bullbar & rear tire carrier. I have Airlift 1000 air helpers in the rear. (I just replaced the Drivers side one-and the passenger side now needs replace...) I've recently added a cabin air filter, swapped the dome lights for LED lights and put HID lights in the fog lamps. I've also recently done the modification to run the fogs independent of headlights. I hope to get some Rock Sliders soon. I'm thinking the "Supersliders" would be great. - I had removed the stock running board/tubes about 4 years ago due to rot/rust. The sliders would make a nice addition.
