  1. Hey guys. Quick question. I recently broke a compression rod * for whatever reason I dont know*. Well i'm not sure what to do with the peice on the frame that the compression rod attatches to. It seems i ok condition. A little worn out obviously. Should I try to replace that on the frame? How do I go about doing this? I'm not sure how you would cut it out and replace a new one. Maybe the bushings on the rod will just hold it in there? I can show you guys some pics or video tommorow if your intersted.
  2. Heh I don't let shop guys touch my stuff. I hate the morons around here they classify as "mechanics". But I can ride my scooter and motorcycle. so only thing stopping me is rain and cold weather haha. My situation is if I'm gonna spend the money I want to give it a lift. Hate to see my pathy go once I do the suspension literally almost everything has been replaced except body parts
  3. How can I tell if I need new torsion bars? Obviously I need a new compression rod, make that two. new shocks all around. Possibly new control arms based on damage done. Maybe torsion bars. Do you guys think its worth moving forward and fixing? I'm estimating a 600 -1000 dollar fix.
  4. Yeah I think you're right. It is sagging a bit too.
  5. Oh nevermind duh haha I misread what you said ok Hmm I'm debating if I want to put anymore money into my truck. It's rusting out pretty bad and the starter is going now this.. Only good thing on it is the engine that I had rebuilt
  6. Is the compression rod what I thought was the sway bar?
  7. Whooo jeez ok guys. Looks like Ive had total failure of my front suspension. My torsion bar ilsn't set right. ( The bolt that adjust it can be moved around by hand* The shock has had total failure it's literally bent in half. and my lower control arm is snapped at the mount. WTF. Any ideas as to what caused it all?
  8. Oh correction when I was talking about the "front torsion bar". *I meant the sway bar* .. Sorry bout that
  9. Well the shock definatly is toast. I think i might need a new torsion bar. I dont really understand how it works that well the front one ( if there is two) Doesn't really line up. Its coming out of the bushing it seems like I can twist the rubber seal above it ( near the tire) Its not seated in it. Now as for checking the rear I haven't done yet. Something snapped today and its really sagging now. I'm not driving it anymore.
  10. Idk its sagging and the shock isn't extended. All the other parts look fine. Nefarious I want to do your setup. Did you have to get that peice that sits in the rear I think its called a tension rod or something? Also were the bushings rubber on the shocks? And your shocks and bump stops were ordered online.. Grand charokee from junkyard right?
  11. Hmm sounds like something I could do. All junkyard parts? Or ordered new?
  12. Man you guys are lucky Also I live in lower Pa.
  13. Herd a big smack with a death wobble to follow today scared the @!*% out of me. Long story short I need a new shock, I'm thinking about adding a 3'' lift maybe? Is there any cheap ones you guys know of? I know you can do springs, shocks in back and uca, shocks in front. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
  14. Just out of curiosity ... How is all you 90-95'ers frames doing? 1 being completely rusted out beyond repair.... 10 being rust free. I'd give mine about a 4 or 5 rear end has some holes in it and has been patched before. Mechanic where I live doesn't seem to care
  15. Not sure if i'm too late to help but take off your rubber "boot" from the air filter to the intake. Bend it and check for cracks tears ect. Mine had that exact problem and replacing that fixed it. I had two huge tears at both ends and tons of cracks in the middle.
  16. Its fixed I blame the mexicans I bought it from for the ****** aftermarket alarm system..... I rewired too much to have such a simple fix ...
  17. O you mean the actual bulb for the turn signal... weird part is that it was doing this before but when I rewired that fuseible link to the battery it fixed it with one of the wires... but now idk whats going on. I thought you meant the checkbulb relay http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/1994_Pathfinder/el.pdf
  18. Whats that? And where is it located? I was looking at the wiring diagram earlier and saw that but I wasn't too sure what it was.
  19. Oh my god. If this truck has feelings it &^%*ing hates me. I'm having the same problem again! It was completely fixed and working fine! I went through every connection coming off the battery terminal and it's all getting power! I went through every possible scenario with mixing at matching up wires to see if I had some kind of fluke going on where I thought i fixed it by accident but nope no matter what I do I cant get my car to start again if it sits for more than 5 minutes. I cant be coming of the terminals there is no friggin way I have to have a short circuit somewhere. I'm thinking this because when I put my right turn signal on it flicks insanely fast. Also on a side note I fried a wire earlier out of frustration and i'm pretty sure I only did damage to the smaller wire coming off the terminal I dont freaking know anymore I give up.
  20. Yep! I'll give ya a pic in a little bit when I get the chance here. I used the adapter thingy ..lol... that simon suggested, cut out the links and wired it straight to the battery terminal. Had to do some serious redneck fabrication skills to keep the wire for the starter in place. I'll show you. . Thank you so much for being so patient, helpfull, and friendly with me I appreciate it alot!
  21. Taking those stupid plugs out and rewiring it directly to the battery... LOL I got a bit frustrated and said fskc it. Surprised those little wires control so much.
  22. I figured it out ... found exactly what I needed at walmart.. go figure hehe And good news is it fixed my problem! She starts right up now Thanks for the help guys!! I cant tell you how happy I am haha
