  1. Update: I couldn't get that 8" sub to sound right, probably due to a combination of a 10+ year old amp plus too much open air for the sub by removing the tray/pocket inside that compartment. I could have tried a new amp plus sealing up that compartment plus add polyfill, but I chose to use another sub & amp I had. Sorry for the cross-post but here's my post from the "What did you do to your PFinder today...":
  2. Well, I didn't like the way the 8" RF Punch sounded so I pulled one of the 12" Kenwoods I had from another sub box and built a new box for it that goes up over the wheel well. Then carpeted it with tan carpet (actually the back side of some Mossy Oak camo carpet found at Wal-Mart) to match the cargo area. Then wired up another, more powerful amp in the same spot as the old one. Still have to modidy my center caps after the Warn hub install...
  3. A] Back in the day, my buddy had a 4Runner with 3 12's and a 1001D Xtant amp. Long story short, a false floor was made to house the amp and subs so there was still cargo space the length of the rear area but reduced ~10" vertically. You could try something like that. B] I just made this "enclosure" for a spare 8" sub I had lying around. You could try something like this in your rear panels, if they'll hold.
  4. Installed Warn hubs. Now to modify the center caps...
  5. www.radiatorbarn.com I've replaced a Jeep radiator and a Maxima radiator & condensor from these guys and have nothing but positive things to say: fast shipping, direct replacements, all metal, no problems.
  6. Installed my old Pioneer AVIC D3. I had it in my Maxima a couple cars ago and it's been collecting dust ever since. The old Maxima wire harness plugged right in too. I routed the GPS antenna and tapped into pin #26 of the ECM harness above the gas pedal for the VSS wire and everything is working great! It's nice having 90% of my iTunes library again instead of only a couple of burned CDs for my 45 minute rush hour commute. (took this picture before the wires under the console were routed out of view) Also grabbed the 8" sub from my Jeep project and made a 1/4" acrylic mount in rear storage area. Routed the speaker wire to the floor compartment under the cargo mat where the 14 year old Alpine amp (that was also pulled from the corner of a closet) now lives. The mount started out clear. I added some foam tape as a buffer and then pre-drilled the holes before screwing everything together. (the black container with flip lid was removed so more air can move) I thought I had all the power/ground wires and fuses in my old electronics box but I've misplaced them as they weren't with my spare RCA cables. So I had to buy a $28 amp kit from the store I hate the most...Wal-Mart...as Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc. had nothing. Bummer, I thought this system was going to be "free."
  7. New member here and I just wanted to say a quick hello. I’m getting my first Pathfinder next month (a 1999 LE, black exterior & tan interior) and I’m pretty excited about it as my new daily driver. It will be replacing my 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan and will handle camping and getting a little dirty much better than the G35. I’ve been reading this forum for about a month before joining/posting and from the info I’ve gathered, I’ll keep the PFinder lift conservative and only go with the 2” AC coils when I need new tires, which will be a set of 33x10,5 BFG ATs on the stock 15” wheels, though I’ll push them out a little with a set of spacers. I plan on replacing the struts/shocks/hubs/etc. at the same time from one of the vendors I’ve used over the years. Again, the PFinder will be my daily driver with occasional light trial/camping duties so I want to keep it relatively stock, other than upgrading the head unit to a double-din GPS/DVD, so no SAS for me. This is the look I’m going for: (01silverpathy’s pic - hope okay to reference) http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr355/01Silvapathy/pathy2inlift33spainted.jpg For serious wheeling, I’ll be turning to my Jeep. It’s a 1997 TJ that I stretched to LJ body specs. It has 1-ton axles (D60 front & 14B rear, both Detroit locked), 42” Pit-Bull Rockers, double triangulated 4-link rear, 3-link front, 700R4 Monster trans and an Atlas 3.8. I’m almost finished with that build and I’ve done all the work/fab myself except for a few pre-made axle/frame brackets. I really hope it hits the trails soon! The last time it saw dirt it was on 35” BGF MTs with a D44 rear & HPD30 front. Here’s a picture from when it first rolled out of the garage under its own weight earlier this year: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5293/5544187217_f004321326_z.jpg Aside from the Jeep, I’ve really be a Nissan guy my whole life. I’ve had 1997 & 2001 Maximas and the Infiniti mentioned earlier, which I all loved. My brother has a 2003 Maxima and his wife has a 2009 or 2010 Xterra. Anyway, I hope you guys let me hang out here from time to time. I’m no stranger to fab work and trying to make things fit/work “just because” but still learning all the PFinder specs. One of the topics I’ve been researching is a rear disc conversion as I hate drum brakes. I think nobody is making a kit or has done this successfully correct? I might look into fabbing something up once I can tear that axle apart. I also want to look into replacing the 1999 tail lights with 2002 tail lights. Cheers,
