  1. Don't think its bad gas as this has been going on for two months and I've been through at least 3 tanks now.. I had also put seafoam in the tank to correct the bad gas if it were..thanks though!

  2. The closest dyno is well over 100mi away so that's out of the question ..but I will say it drives the same with the air filter off..

I'm lost now.. ill have the shop replace my o2 sensor when I get paid next Friday..as they screwed up my bung and I can't remove it now..

I'm definitely up for any ideas though..

Still offering the 10$ reward to anyone who can figure this gremlin out..

  3. Ugh..not looking too good.. I finally got it swapped out and it just seems the same..only it actually stalled on me when I came to a stop.. ugh. This just isn't looking good..

  4. Tank was all siphoned out..filter was actually clean! Maybe just a tiny particlee, but only.noticeable if.you're looking that close to it. I have a clean tank now, and also swapped the other fuel pump in. Taking a break for now, but lets hope this works out!

  5. Found out I had a cracked lower intake! Wow! Problems are still strong..trying some injector cleaner while I run this gas out..so far..nothing..

I am.using Chevron Techron Injector cleaner..

  6. I think i'll do just that! I'll get one of the fuel siphon pumps and watch what goes through..Thanks!

Hopefully i can get back over there to it and fix that coolant line and run it out of gas.. or close enough.

I dont have any of those listed..thats why i hate having to do most of this by myself, but i know it has to be done regardless..

  7. I'm not questioning your advice at all, but I don't feel safe using a shop vac with gasoline.. only because I know that some electric motors create a small spark on torque.. but is there any other way of doing this? My guess if I could use something like that I could place a filter on the hose and that would give me an idea, and at the same time clean all the particles.. but. I just need another way of doing this.. ill wait until I'm nearly empty (right now its on a full tank) and try this. It does sound like what you're talking about with the straw and seed.. bit as far as that it was black..but it looked like old black dirt..?

  8. You know what. Ill do that. The fuel pump I have isn't new but the vehicle it was off ran fine. The black flakes might have..though I'm not sure. I can't really clean my gas tank as I don't have access to anything to drop the tank.

  9. Pathy blew a coolant line right behind the intake..looks like it'll have to be towed home and ill be removing the upper intake Plenum. Ugh. I can't win!!! It was driving so good too..

  10. I can't find anything to really clean them and I've read that most in tank fuel system cleaners are just alcohol.

Ill add that tonight after work I jumped in it and took off and it felt...normal? (The normal power feeling only lasted a few seconds, maybe 10-20s) Again until it got that bogging sound and then back to that less-than-powerful Pathy.. if something is clogging its like its taking a few seconds to get clogged again..?

I can say that while I had that lower intake off my intake valves were really clean!!!

  11. Ill try looking up on how to clean them and go from there.. thanks! I will say, that since I have owned this Pathfinder, I have always bought 0% ethanol gasoline. Sure I pay 20c more but I feel better knowing it isn't watered down

  12. Actually, my fuel pump pressures were good, and still are, its just it acted like it didn't pump out enough under a load. All I did was clean the filter in the tank and put it back in.. I didn't swap the fuel pumps out.. After doing that I noticed how it actually ran because that filter wasn't stopped up like it was.. fuel pressure did as it was supposed to, as vacuum decreased (revving it higher) fuel pressure increased. IIRC pressures were around 45psi.

  13. So lets say the injectors are clogged..what could I use to clean them without removing the fuel rail/upper intake Plenum? I really don't want to go that route again..

  14. I reset the ecu after I test drove it last night and wentbto bed, leaving it unplugged all night..

Knock sensor is mounted in and working..

(Note my exhaust now vibrates, which may or may not trigger the KS)

My fuel injectors are all clicking..which means they're working..right?

I could not find any vacuum leaks using Carb cleaner on every vacuum/intake joints.. so I guess no leaks? I will say thatit idles around 700..maybe just a hair lower.. and my brakes seem like I have to hold it to the floor some times..

I will check for codes tonight after work as my CEL did come back on..

  15. I got a little too excited..drove another Pathy that really needed a tune-up..and it had a lot more power than mine!

I found out today mine has more power to the point of it being drivable..but I still have no WOT. It just bogs.. I can't pass people up hills, still with the harder I push the pedal the less power I get.. BUT. It isn't as bad. But its still there.

Today, I thought I would put the timing back to where it was (right now it is FULLY) advanced..and..it just dies. It will NOT run anything under fully advanced.. any ideas?? Swapped their coil for mine and no difference..

I hate that I said it was fixed and it reared its ugly head on me today!

So what I'm asking now is: What would make it run on nothing BUT fully advanced base timing??

Thanks.. I appreciate you guys bearing with me.on this..and to whoever figures this one out (I know it isn't much) but I will GLADLY PayPal you 10$

  16. Woo!!!! GOOD NEWS!!!

    The Pathy is finally FIXED!!!

Ok. So I pull my tank cluster and notice the intank filter is clogged right at the in-line.. and I mean full of little black.particles.. so I clean it, really well and assemble it all, check for leaks with key on and start it and TADA! It idled with a miss that went away after driving it some. But. It actually accelerated again!!!! It finally coasts at 2k rpm and can accelerate at that range again!! Pathy is finally fixed and ready to go roughly 2 months and 200$ later. Thank you EVERYONE for your input! I really appreciate it all. I couldn't be more happy.

  17. Finally got a fuel pump. Guaranteed for a year or my.money back. I noticed the 89 I grabbed this from had two fuel gauges.. and this gas sender has two sending units on it.

Is this.compatible with the 95? Can I just swap that sending unit in for mine?

    Thanks!

  18. Finally..got it all assembled with tons of cuts and bruises..but eh. Hoping it would be all worth it..got everything hooked up and it wouldn't run! Kept turning it over and over..several times and advanced the timing all the way advanced and it finally ran good!

    The power up hills.

did not change. New knock sensor has made a little change (quieter..no more loud pinging sound)

But. It has absolutely no power at all! Sometimes it struggles to reach 20mph to accelerate.. the only thing it can be is fuel pump..right? It puts out enough pressure..but its still running extremely lean..I can't run a volume test as I have nothing to test that with.. Thanks everyone..its like the fuel pump just fails under load..

  19. No progress yet. Trying to scramble around and source parts for the bypass hose and injector seals isn't easy.. looks like ill be pulling the seals from the jy early in the morning and start finishing it up and hoping the new knock sensor helps it..

  20. The connector is fine..mynguess is they taped it.to prevent it from getting broken.. so now after work I'm going to rethread the hole (crammed with rust) and hope forvthe best. So now I'm at square one. I know a knock sensor wont cause it to run the bad..or the lack of one. I don't know why my CEL doesn't stay on all the time then..
