why do i smell burnt (i think oil) and yet my oil level never changes... and hasnt over the past 2 months...

Valve cover gasket or in my case bad pressure sensor (leaking). Somewhere you have an small oil leak and it is hitting your exhaust, in most cases it is a valve cover gasket but it could be elsewhere. Take a look under the hood and underneath for leaking oil. If you don't see anything try a piece of clean cardboard under the engine, it should be long enough to reach the the transmission housing, next time you park at home.
You just want to make sure nothing critical is leak...
