  1. I don't know what the back spacing and all that may be, but I have 17" rims on my '02... I suspect that there is enough difference between the 89 pathy and 04 Titan that there would be some issues... that being said, if the bolt pattern is EXACTLY the same and the backspacing is roughly the same, I'd say the only limiting factor is the tire size that you intend to use. And let me tell you, if I may, that there aren't a helluva lot of 17" tires worth their salt out there. Biggest issue is the availability of sizes!!!! I've debated the idea over and over about using 16" stock Nissan wheels for my mud tires when I go to get them, but I just can't justify the overall cost when you can get such cool aftermarket wheels cheaper and with greater availability... 16" wheels would be your best bet in my opinion. Unless you are getting the wheels for free or like rediculously cheap, I'd say skip it and get some cool steel wheels real cheap...
  2. don't forget the beer!!! sheesh!
  3. 88 - this is the first line of your major contribution to the post: "Googled for "Exhaust back pressure explained" and found this. Took about ten seconds." GOOGLE is your friend...
  4. try this string of posts: http://npora.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtop...st=0entry5758
  5. As a dog owner myself - I couldn't agree more!!! I was out walking my dog about 3 weeks ago (8 or 9pm - dark out) and someone was putting their trash out. Their dog got out of the house, or was loose already, and came after me and my dog... Now, my dog is an 85 lb lab, but this other guys dog made Colby look like a teeny terrier or something! Anyway, the guy wasn't able to control his dog particularly well and suggested I get out of the area as quickly as possible... and this is a dog in a neighborhood with little kids everywhere. That was the first of 3 dogs on that walk that came after us - needless to say, I don't go in that neighborhood anymore! I am a dog owner and I am responsible with my dog and concious of others' safety. I expect nothing less from other dog owners, but sadly am often disappointed...
  6. I have no complaints with my 240HP... but my stock rotors HAVE TO GO!! **p.o.s.**
  7. manual hubs may or may not be an issue... the other question is do the wheels have the 33" tires from the factory, in which case, that may prove to be an issue as well...
  8. I believe Grumpy is speaking of exhaust scavenging... the escaping exhaust creates a bit of a vacuum effect - exhaust pulses from the cylinders sucking the exhaust from other cylinders... this effect also helps to bring the intake charge into the cylinder faster... kinda like a poor man's forced induction
  9. 88 - the rotors were $104 each - and they are side specific naturally, cause the drill pattern is directional. Didn't shop around a whole lot, but the Hawks pads were comparable price-wise to tirerack and other online vendors...
  10. Just ordered some cross drilled rotors and Hawk pads last night and hopefully will be getting them sometime soon... anyone have any experience with the TRW Powerstop cross drilled rotors? Or any others that are either drilled or slotted? I'd be curious to hear your experiences with these. Think I'm gonna order the 2" lift in the next couple of weeks too... father's day/b-day gift... I know, I know, I keep saying I'm gonna do it, just need to get off my butt and order it I spose...
  11. 3 times without a fix sounds like a lemon law issue to me... check your pathy/Nissan owner's manuals - there should be one that has your state's particular consumer law pertaining to lemons - basically any vehicle that has a recurring problem fixed under warranty that doesn't get resolved. If you don't have that particular book - let me know I'll dig mine out from my 02 and get you a copy or pic or whatever.
  12. and these are tubular hedders from hedman: http://www.hedman.com/pages/hedmanmain.html the tubular design increases exhaust flow, reduces overall exhaust temp and under hood temps, all helping to increase HP and Torque.
  13. this is an exhaust manifold for a ford I believe...
  14. looks as though the ARB sahara bumper is my only option at this point... guess I need to make up my mind as to whether I'm gonna go for a lift kit or bumper at this point. I'm thinking lift kit...
  15. thre recommended factory tire inflation psi should be listed on the door jam sticker from the factory... should be listed as a max psi for tires when cold...
  16. give it a real good whack!! You may think you're gonna break it, but it will pop up... the other choice would be to break out the owners manual if you have one with the truck...
  17. up until recently, rear sway bars on any type of vehicle were somewhat of a luxury item. There are still plenty of "economy" cars out there with just the front sway bar. The one in the front does more work to control a vehicle thru the curve anyway... so if you don't care about the rear end flapping around a teeny bit, why bother with the rear bar?? just my .02 worth
  18. I sent an email to him this afternoon with no response thus far... I'd pay cash for one if it were indeed a true story... but c'mon - where did they come from? a dealer doesn't just "forget" about a bunch of brand new vehicles... perhaps these were "lost" and the dealer was reimbursed with insurance $$ and now that the statute of limitations has run out... the trucks are for sale again... :contract:
  19. after I get my lift, I will be getting a set of rims and tires - but for the tires, I'm gonna go with 235/85/16's - that will give me 32" height with about 9 to 9.5" width... shouldn't have any issues with rubbing on the strut towers I would guess.
  20. I agree, it looks good. But on the other hand, if I could get the tjm t17 bumper for 400 bucks - I could get the lift kit with shocks/struts/etc for the remaing 600 bones! If nothing is available, I'll go with the ARB sahara and save up for the lift.
  21. THANKS sw!! - just fired off an email to Jeff to see what advice he may have... thanks for the contact! -chris
  22. I am tyring to make up my mind what is going on the truck next - I'm about 80% done with wiring up the lights on my safari rack ( 3 Hella 500's and 2 Hella FF50s)... I may be getting the green light from the Mrs. for a bull bar bumper! (b-day and father's day gift perhaps). Question is this: will the tjm bumpers that fit 96-99 pathys fit my 02 or not? I haven't placed a call to TJM as yet, but I've sent emails to a number of TJM retailers, such as AC, without any response. I wouldn't buy from AC, but I figured they might answer the email... perhaps I should post something on their board to get a response... Folks - any thoughts on fitment? I don't want to shell out $1000+ for the arb sahara bumper - the extra cash could be spent on other things, like lift and/or wheels and tires!
  23. as far as I know, and I've checked the warn site - you can install premium manual hubs on all new pathfinders (the redesigned 05 may be an exception) - warn has a part number for up to 01's and they haven't changed between 01 and 04... see link: http://www.warn.com/truck/hubs/prem_hub_nissan_app.shtml
  24. Zactly! 88 - right on about the Flanges... dunno why I keep saying "hubs" - force of habit I guess... flanges flanges flanges -thnkboutit-
