  1. Mine never comes on when you turn the ignition on either. I just verified the bulb worked by swapping it with something else that does come on with the ignition key on. I've had horrible luck with low fuel lights on every Nissan I have owned but my 94 2WD Hardbody. Thats the only one that worked on a consistent basis. Like Tungsten said though, its better to fill up before you see it.

That is correct there is no bulb check for the low fuel light. However, when you turn the ignition on there is a weak voltage across those contacts, which is not enough to turn on the bulb and probably has to do something with the little cylinder mechanism on the sender. When that little thingy on the sender trips from a low fuel level, the light should go on.

    And since your in NY

"NEW YORK NEW JERSEY NORTHEASTERN US MEET NORTHEASTERN MEET!! COME ONE, COME ALL :)"

  4. So me and Tungsten were thinking (mainly me, I'm just going to rope his name in because..its a long story) of having a North Eastern Pathfinder meet. Seeing as since the time I've been here I haven't heard of any NE meets I figured what the hell, lets organize one.

Enough of my sicko babble bullsh*t, WHO's IN? (bad question without the proper info, I know)

Here is the plan, I'm thinking earliest for this meet would be late January. It would probably be hosted somewhere in Jersey or Deeper into LI. If I get enough people to agree on a date and time etc. I can start organizing. Depending on who is going and how many people our location can change. For example if there are going to be 5 people going and 4 are from NY the meet could be held on LI. I don't think anyone would mind shelling out a dollar or two to make up for the toll for that one Jersey guy. IDK we could figure that out later.

BASICALLY what I want to know is who is interested in this meet and when do you think you will be free. Also if you have any idea's for the meet, or you would like to help organize, or I left something that everyone needs to know about, etc. post it. This is something that I really would like to do.

    Since I don't trails in the NY-Jersey border-ish area I'm thinking its just a lunch/dinner meet.

We meet at location 1 - sit around and BS till everyone gets there yada yada yada.

Drive as a nice pathfinder convo to location 2 - Lunch/dinner etc.

Anything after that is up to you guys. Have an idea of something we should do? Tell us.

    I don't think I forgot anything...

SO WHO IS UP FOR A NORTH EASTERN MEET!! :]

  5. I live in Nor cal but :yeahthat:

    I live in NY but...wait...damn.. :[

Sad news guys, she has just been diagnosed with a rare form of rear frame rust cancer that only seems to affect trucks in the salt belt states. I wonder why... :chairfall:

Oh well, in other news, the frame is solid and she runs like a champ

  6. There is a whole thread about this. You are "supposed" to be able to do it, but I would just recommend against it. I can't seem to figure it out. In your situation, what Adamzan said was right. Your front and rear wheels were spinning at different speeds so some components were not properly in tune. If you were going 25mph down the road, then I guess it would work, but I'm not sure why you would want to. My visor card says that I shouldn't shift into 4hi at a speed higher than (I think it says 45mph)? I have no idea why I would be going 45mph and want to slam it into 4hi. If you have auto hubs, then on the fly might work, but it's just silly with manual locking hubs. You would have to stop the truck and get out to put the hubs in 4wd. Some people say that you should put the hubs in 4wd prior to putting the t-case in 4wd, but isn't that useless?

Whenever I put my stuff into 4wd, there would always be grinding or clanking noises. Except if I was completely stopped for more than a second then slowly did it. Even if I was going like 2mph, there would be god-awful sounds from the transfer case. With awful sounds like that, you know somethin' good ain't happenin'. I would just take the extra 5 seconds and do it at a standstill.

Agree. The way I understood it for our wd21's we can shift on the fly only after shifting into 4wd while stopped. then from there we can shift into 2 and back to 4 with no problems. just have to make sure we dont go into reverse and disengage the 4wd while in 2wd. but i prefer to stop and change from 2 to 4 or vice versa.
