  1. Hello I recently destroyed my 98 Nissan pathfinder in a mud puddle :( engine is shot. Instead of replacing or rebuilding the engine I decided to upgrade to an '01! Now here is my question I purchased bumpers from Tactical armor group (front and rear) and a lift from A/C and a few other things. My main concerns are the lift and bumpers will those fit from a 98 to an 01 or will they not?

  2. Hmmm well this has all been helpful I think the reason why he would have used late 90s parts is because they are everywhere in the junkyard around here where as the 2000s are harder to come by. My next question is when you all refer to the "clip" does that mean the fenders and such or would that also include the radiator core support and stuff. I might want to pick this vehicle up and reconvert it to an 01. Assuming he lets it go for cheaper.

  3. Water pump pulley failed this weekend. The belt flew off while I was driving down the free way. The pulley was insanely wobbly so I sucked up a towing bill and had it towed to a shop. I could do the water pump myself but my concern is that while this happened that something happened to my timing and if so what are the chances that I broke valves or pistons? I did smell smoke after the belt came off and the car won't turn over. Also the lights that came on when this happened were the brake battery and a/t light (maybe just letting me know the alternator wasn't going) any thoughts on if something happened to the engine?

  4. Hello,

I have a cracked exhaust manifold on the underside of my driver side exhaust manifold. I am trying to decide whether to take it to a shop to have it done, do it my self, or to just leave it be. I'm fairly handy with tools, but my concern is if i was to break the studs off the manifold due to rusting. Also I have no idea how time consuming this project is. How much would a shop reasonably charge to do this? How long would it take for me to do it myself?

  5. I changed the shifter of the pathy from one i found at the junk yard (this one looked a lot nicer). I believe it was 2 years newer so approx a 99....could this be an issue? I also notice that if i want to turn o/d off i have to hold the button instead of pressing it.

  6. I have like 6 damn clusters in my garage...let me tell you if you get one at the junk yard make sure it is the exact same. I pulled 3 off of 97 pathys and all of them were different and they all caused their separate issues. Also the gauges you get from the junk yard tend to have high mileage so make sure to get the odometer set to the right mileage

  7. I took my doors off once apon a time...there is actually wiring harnesses that make the process very simple. I also welded up some 3" steel tube doors that go on the front...have to mod them they rattled a lot. I will take pics when I find them (got buried in the shed for the winter) they didn't have speakers or any fancy stuff. Just there to keep me and the passengers safe while cruising

  8. So I went on an off road adventure last weekend and when I was done, I had the worst steering issues. Turns out the rack and pinion mount bushing isn't just bad but it isnt there. It's just completely gone. Ho this happens I don't know. So I ordered the bushing from nissan 14$ a piece i will replace both of them. My question is how hard is it? Do I just unmount those bolts and slip the bushings on or is it harder. I'm away from home at school so my time is minimal and my tools are not abundant. So if it is too hard or too time consuming ill let the dealers do it.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Yeah something definitely looks wrong but idk what it is mine was taken at full weight on suspension I have the a/c 2" lift and snake racing approximately 1" spacers and that's it I have taken this apart 3 times and it has gotten drivable but I can still feel the jumping around corners

I did however find a copper washer in between the cv axle and the inside of the hub where the dust cover and cv axle meet this might be causing some issues its about 1/4 of an inch thick I took it out but I have yet to put everything back together and take it out for a spin

  10. It's not new my other pathfinder was wrecked and I bought this one for 500 so it was merely a lift kit transfer and this shock is kyb gr-2 And I had zero issue when it was on my other vehicle and it was thi exact setup I just took it off and moved it to the other vehicle

  11. Upon further experimentation I lifted the back and I returned my cv half shaft and got a new one....lifting the back helped very slightly buy replacing the shaft helped tremendously...I'll snap a pic later this afternoon to show the new angle it feels solid but I notice when I crank the steering wheel to the right and really gas it I will get the same thing happening I'm hoping that once the coils settle in a little bit and I put some miles on it, it will be better.
