  1. I would like to hear about the wet rug solution.....I don't have it yet....but you never know.....these vehicles ain't gettin any younger.
  2. Wow, that is a PITA! But thank you so much unccpathfinder for the step by step. I have downloaded and added something to the FSM section Precise1. Thank you for that as well. I also have the Chilton for reference as well. I imagine both manuals cover this too, but I much rather have unccpathfinders real world experience to guide me. Looks like I better get to work soon.....the leak ain't gettin any better.....Thanks again guys for the time......what a great community you guys have on here....
  3. Anyone done this yet on a WD21? What's involved? I think that's where my oil leak is coming from. I've got a 170K and it's leaking good between the tranny and engine sandwich...and no it's not tranny fluid, I'm sure of that. I've washed and degreased everything and let it all come back just to be sure. My auto tranny gasket does have some seepage as well after, and my oil pan gasket is still dry all around. I know there's a separate gasket sometimes on the u-shape part of oil pans near the back, could that be it or is it a one piece gasket all around? I've seen or have had this type of leak before on other vehicles, but never fixed them or attempted it myself, just kept the level up between changes before. I'm pretty mechanically inclined with bolt on stuff, but that's about all I've ever done before. What kind of tools would I need outside the normal stuff I assume most of us have. I do have air tools too.
  4. I'm glad I saw this thread......my hose was split and fell off my pressure regulator too.....everyone should be checking this dumb little hose......my vacuum hose diagram is on the hood still....so it was easy to just check the rest of them......and the third to overdrive shift was taking forever before.....now it's not anymore. I didn't have any gas fumes or drive ability problems though like this guy did. Weird......I also found the thread on the MAF cleaning procedure and went ahead and did that too just for the heck of it........the only thing I picked up so far is quicker shifting in Auto mode. (I don't use the Power mode unless I tow, which does make for longer shifts as it's supposed to.)
  5. The "rar" file extractor link is no longer working. I found a similar program for free that works as well. Pretty simple extractor as well. Only 3 steps, although you do have to put the password you provided in twice for some reason and it will extract then. I also renamed each file as well afterwards to make finding the section I need quicker (just a tip). Or just use the index or directory I guess if you want. http://download.cnet.com/Free-RAR-Extract-Frog/3000-2250_4-10804840.html
  6. Profile done! Thank you precise1! I will have to wait till I get home tonight to download the manual to my own computer (on the company one right now...ssshhhhh), but I'm excited!
  7. Pretending to work today..........

  8. Just saying greetings and hello! Pop'd my cherry and made my first post already....don't know if that was good or bad.....but I'm sure I'll find out. What a wonderful site! So fresh and so clean and nicely maintained! Ahhhh......and pathy owners too.....my mechanic will not be happy, but he'll be ok, plenty of other suckers out there who are too lazy and what have you. Thank you ahead of time for the help I will recieve in the future from such a wise and friendly group of pathy owners and such....I'm gonna relax and stay here awhile I think. Ahhhh........
  9. Diconnect it and find out....while everthing is on including the engine. Just what I would do......I'm not a profeesional mechanic though and I take no responsibilty for what might happen....LOL......but nothing bad ever happened to me yet on my pathy, and I've diconnected just about every electrical connector I can get my hands on to check them and also see what they do sometimes. Just a thought......someone else may disagree I'm sure.
