  1. I've got a 2000 Pathfinder that pulls to the left when I'm driving alone. But when I have my family in the vehicle (wife 125 lbs and 2 small children) it drives straight or even slight pull to the right some times. I can't for the life of me figure out what the issue is. It has been doing it for quite awhile. does this sound like a wheel alignment issue or is there another problem. struts, ball joints and bushings seem good to me . anyone else had any similar issues? I was thinking about having a wheel alignment done while I was sitting in the drivers seat. could that help? Thanks for any advice.
  2. LOL! Thanks, no need for the picture!! hah I'm going to send that info to mile marker. (and tell them to shutup) Thanks for the help!
  3. Anyone know what the bolt circle and axle OD is on my path? Got an email from mile marker asking this to confirm fitment for my path. I take your guys' word for it that they fit, but don't understand why the manufacturer is so clueless. Is the bolt circle and axle OD on my 2000 the same as 90-96 Paths? Thanks for the help.
  4. Weird. I got an email from Mile Marker saying they don't make a hub for my Pathfinder. Are they mistaken? Anyone else use Mile Markers, Part #
  5. I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but I was wondering if you can use the original flange bolts already there to install the manual hub. If so, it seems like it would be a pretty quick job. thanks for all the help.
  6. I found mile markers part #435 on their website I can get shipped for 160$. That's the best deal I've found. Mind me asking where you found yours? Thanks
  7. Thanks alot. Definetly going to look into some manual hubs. Sent from my BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps using Tapatalk 2
  8. Are the oem hubs just locked in all the time then? I assumed they were automatic...trying to understand exactly how they work. I checked out mile markers website but didn't see them for r50. Any other decent ones I should look at too?
  9. I've done the maf, fuel filter, throttle body lately. I might consider the manual hubs, but I sure like the on the fly option even if I only use it in the winter. I really surprised the mileage shouldn't be better on a good conditon truck. My friend has a dakota 4x4 V8 and gets better mileage.
  10. I get 16 mpg in my 2000 Pathfinder 4wd whether I'm on the highway or city or combined. Whether the a/c is on or off or the windows are rolled down. What kind of mileage are you guys getting on on your VG33 engines?
  11. Anyone know a good place they can recommend for a wheel alignment in the Ottawa area? Thanks.
  12. Maybe this one is for the northern states guys and Canadians. What do you guys do in the winter to prevent road salt from eating your Paths?
  13. Thanks for the info. The slide pins seemed smooth. Got it all back together and braking is good. It does just touch the rotors though when I spin by hand. I guess that's how it's supposed to be. Pads and rotors will have to wait till next summer. Has anyone ever repacked the rear bearings? Are they supposed to be done as well?
  14. Thanks good idea. Is there a clip or something that keeps the pads from touching the rotor when your foots not on the brake. Trying to understand how it works so they're not rubbing.
  15. Thanks, just needed a little more persuasion. I finally got the passenger side all back together. But when I went to to put the brake mount back on a brake pad fell out. I put it back in with the metal clips the way I thought they were supposed to go but now the brake sounds like it's rubbing on the disc. I've never worked on the brakes can someone confirm the way they're supposed to be?
  16. Hey I'm trying to replace my wheel bearings for the first time and I've hit a snag. In the picture should I be trying to remove the small dust cap or the metal cover that the dust cover sits on with the smaller bolts sticking out? I took the nuts off the bolts and I can't for the life of me get that cover off. Am I doing something wrong? thanks for your help.
  17. Installed KYB front mounts, bearings, and struts today. Also replaced the end links with Beck/Arnley. I said I would post my results so here it is. The bearings looked and felt identical to the Nissan OEM bearings I replaced other than the color of the plastic which was black on the KYBs. The mounts themselves were also identical to the OEMs in feel and design except for one feature. The Nissans had a little extra metal on the bottom of the mount where the strut shaft went through the mount. The KYBs came with a metal spacer to slip on the shaft to accomplish the same thing (all the after market mounts I looked at had the same design). I didn't notice the difference right away, would be bad to forget the spacer. The rubber looked good and seemed stiffer than the old ones which made sense. Everything went together really easy. The worst part was getting the old end links off that I had to cut. All in all really happy with the mounts and struts as of day one. Feels like a solid truck again, and no clunking!
  18. Borrowed a spring compressor. Got the passenger side done today. Spent a lot of time trying to get an end link off and eventually cut it off. Hopefully driver side will go faster tomorrow. Fun stuff!
  19. yea I'm panning on doing the front struts later this month, can't say I'm looking forward to it. Isn't there some compressors that have locking clips on them to keep them from slipping off?
  20. Thanks got it done using the jack method, axle came down smoothly without bending anything. Thanks for the help!
  21. can anyone give me a step by step for replacing the rear springs. Planning on lowering the rear axle with a jack and wondered what else needs to be disconnected other than the shocks before doing this. much appreciated.
  22. No, it's never been in an accident. It's not a real hard pull, it's more noticeable at highway speeds. More of an annoyance. I've checked the bushings out and they all look really good. Everything seems really solid, save for the stab link that I will be replacing soon, along with the struts. So i 'll be due for another wheel alignement too.
  23. Anyone ever done this before? My Pathfinder pulls slightly left while driving straight. It has been doing this for as long as I remember. Last time the wheels were aligned the guy at the shop was stumped why he couldn't correct it. The FSM states to fix this problem by "resetting the adjusting screw" but doesn't go into any detail. Thanks.
