  1. I might place an order from Jegs today, what do I need to be concerned about with bolt circle, rear spacing, and offset? http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/KeywordSearchCmd?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&Ntk=all&Jnar=0&Ne=1%2B2%2B3%2B13%2B1147708&searchTerm=Cragar+soft+8
  2. Aw ok, I just didn't see that size listed on the link above. These wheels look nice.. Although they are twice the cost of cragar's.. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/XD-Series-Enduro-Matte-Black.aspx?t_c=11&t_s=210&t_pt=100106&t_pl=10055
  3. In this case it looks like 245 75 16 is my best bet, at 30.5". Will a smaller width than stock seem goofy or would 255 to 245 seem negligible?
  4. Ya you guys have been more than helpful! I just want something black and simple, and normal sized (rims). Most likely I'll just go with the simple and cost effective route- cragar soft 8's.
  5. Sorry for the unrelated question, but what kind of tires are those?
  6. Sorry my stock tire size is 255 65 16 NOT 17. In that case what metric tire size would be optimal to fill up the wheel wells and possibly only cause rubbing at full lockout? I'm nearly 100 percent set on duratracs now. Getting something big enough for a future lift is not really a priority anymore, just something that will fit on stock ride height. In terms of rim sizing what do I need to be concerned with besides obviously matching rim diameter? Do the widths need to match up? Sorry for the borrage of uneducated questions
  7. Looking at the sizes the Duratecs come in.. If stock size is 255 65 17, will a 245 70 17 fit fine? An online metric calculator says that comes out to be 30.5" diameter.
  8. I might need to consider those, my buddy has 60k on his and they still look fine
  9. ^ Do you have any pics of those terra grapplers? I'm guessing 265 70 16's might be too big if the 255's just fit
  10. Scratch that trail grapplers don't appear to be made in smaller sizes. I was quoted 190 for 265 70 16 terra grapplers. ~30.6" I'll probably put on some creager soft 8's too
  11. I've seen Nitto terrra grapplers mentioned here, how about trail grapplers? Will they wear too quickly if I do a lot of paved driving (DD). I don't put on that many miles in a year, though. Mostly just driving back and forth between campus and work, both short distances.
  12. Tires are crappy street tires that were on it when I bought it with pretty good wear. I'll definitely be getting new tires first then, considering a lift with these would look really goofy too. I thought I read somewhere 31's could be fitted on to stock ride height with no problems? Let's say I have a shop do it, are they going to be hesitant putting on larger than stock tires considering they can't guarantee a fit?
  13. My question is, if I don't have the money for both, would it make more sense to get tires/wheels first and then the lift, or get lift first? I would probably just get 31's so fitting wouldn't be dependant upon the lift.
  14. Good looking rides posted so far. How would a pathfinder look with wheels like these? Otherwise I liked the black rims a RWD QX4 had on this site.. lifted and with a roofrack but other than that I can't remember whose it was. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h29/Racer001/New%20FJ/Mods/Exterior/2012-06-12_13-00-03_916.jpg
  15. I'll probably just get the wire harness, as long as the sound quality isn't god awful I'll be able to live with it. Thanks for the help guys, and I meant BOSE in the title, of course.
  16. My 6 disc died awhile ago and I've finally gotten fed up with the radio so I want to replace it. The thing is I thought I read somewhere there was more than just simply replacing the stereo, such as you had mess with the amps and replace the front speakers or something? I tried doing a quick search but didn't find much (on my phone right now)
  17. I'm thinking something black would look best with the dark maroon color. http://i.imgur.com/q55Wx.jpg suggestions?
  18. Then looks pretty impressive to me. Jumps from 60-80 in like 3-4 seconds.
  19. i'm guessing this is km/h right?
  20. There is probably a thread somewhere covering this but what are the auxiliary options? Is there a mod that can be done?
  21. After paying $40 for a stereo place to diagnose the problem they quoted $400 something for the repair.
  22. First, my belts upon start up are as noisy as can be for ~10-15 seconds. It used to only occur in the extreme cold, but recently it has been happening when we have been having warmer temps. While at the Nissan dealership for a different reason I had them check the belts and they said they appeared to be fine, free of noticeable wear. Within the recent weeks, the belts have started to whine even while I'm sitting at stop lights and other random times, really pretty frustrating. A few nights ago I stopped by advanced auto parts and bought a can of belt spray, it cured the problem upon the first start up but the squeak was back later that day. Is it most likely a tension problem? Second thing, this is a problem I managed to forget about until my CD player went out and found myself driving in silence a lot more when it is much more noticeable. When giving it gas, there is a buzzing sound that comes from either the engine area or under the middle of the car. The sound only lasts while the giving it gas and does not happen every time I'm accelerating. I know this is about as vague as can be but I thought I might ask in case this is a somewhat common thing. Anyways, thanks for your help guys.
  23. Either way I've always made sure I'm at a complete stand still when I engage it until tonight. I was in a parking lot going very slowly and my back wheels were spinning on ice, so I pulled the lever to engage the 4wd. The truck started to make quick successive clanking sounds (heaven forbid I don't want to label it "griding", so I quickly shifted back. I tried putting it into 4wd at a standstill right after and everything went smoothly. How worried should I be about what the truck did, could this be a sign of a coming problem?
  24. I was driving on a rural road going around 40 or so cautiously, since it had snowed the previous day and the roads were still iced over in places. I was cruising along when out of nowhere I began sliding towards the opposite lane. I tried to steer back but didn't want to over correct and before I knew it I was spinning 180 degrees down into the opposite ditch. In my mind I was mentally ready to roll when I went off the road because I was heading down the grade sideways. Somehow I didn't, and I came to a standstill with the help of a snow drift, facing the opposite way I had been going. I put her into 4wd and was able to drive away fine. Don't see damage of any sort and she drove fine today. Anyways, just thought I'd share. Was quite the scare and it seems I sure did get a little lucky! Drive safe out there..
  25. Is there an easy way to connect an aux cable to the stock system?
