  1. Greeting and thanks for having me as a newbie...I own a 1991 wd 21 4dr XE...I purchased this fine pathy from the original owner when she had 102K on the clock, as of today she is 123K and still smells like brand new...All original, factory spare out back and not a scratch or dent anywhere on the body...Course the only thing I am searching for is a new replacement lense for the factory driving light on the pssgr side...This vehicle is used primarily when the weather is bad or icy and it does better than either of my H2 hummers or my trusty old 69 bronco 1/4 cab...

You're better off doing this though: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1680

  2. the VG30i should only run one O2 sensor, and as far as I know, is needed for the computer to properly administer the proper fuel mixture. if you're only getting 8mpg, you have other big issues that should be fixed and not covered with a band-aid.

  3. I plan on doing this in the near future.

Here is a comparison to a DOT sealed beam lamp. and an E-spec H4 housing made by "carello"

Clearly, the E spec one is on the left, and the USDM DOT one is on the right. You can see the beam is more spread, but also has that crisp cut-off line. If I can find the parts at pull-a-part I want to do the hardbody grill/headlamp swap so I can use my espec H4 housings that I kept from my old supra. If I had taken that pic when it was darker out you'd be able to see the light pollution above AND below the DOT light, but nothing above the e-spec one.

  4. Lately, I have been noticing a grinding noise coming from my front passenger hub. only after the truck is warmed up and only from a stop. It's almost like brakes are grinding but I know it isn't that, as i just replaced the pads and the rotors have no metal-on-metal wear. Basically the truck lurches forward with a nasty grinding noise and then rolls just fine. Is there any way to take the hub off to see what the deal is, and would it be safe to drive the truck without the hubs in? this is my first 4x4 so I'm a bit of a noob. I notice there are bolts holding the hub on, but I don't know what all is involved in one.

    Sorry for the thread jack!

  5. the 90-95 pathfinders is 15*. But I believe the 86.5-89 pathfinders is 10*. So, I would say anywhere between 10 and 15 would be golden. And I also don't think that these engines respond too well to increased timing. Just leave it at the factory setting and it'll be happy.

  6. I think with interference motors it is almost a guarantee that you bent valves. but who knows, maybe you got lucky.

pretty sure the only way to tell is to take the heads off, or to replace the belt and see if it fires.

  7. I went to a yard today with a 93 in it, pulled the module, and the connectors are different. the one on the 93 has something like you would see in a computer on an expansion card. the plug on my truck is an actual plug like you would see on an ECU. So, I also have a 93 alarm module. hah! take a pic of the connector end and i'll tell you if it'll work, and i may take it off your hands.

  8. The power steering tensioner bolt is best accessed thru the passenger wheel well

The A/C, loosen the one in the center on the idler, then the long bolt on top

The alt is done from the front

Thanks, my power steering belt squeals like mad when it's cold out and is obviously not tensioned very well.

  9. I noticed my rig has a factory alarm, horn under the hood, switch on the center console, but I got it without the keyfob that i read about in the owners manual, along with the factory alarm information booklet. truck came complete with the nissan folder with all the manuals in it.

are the keyfobs from ikeyless and ebay programmable to the stock alarm system? Also, is it a keyless entry system or just an alarm?

  10. I don't stall 20 times while trying to get over a single obsticle. :aok:

exactly why i wanted an auto for my 4x4. Even though I'm pretty skilled with a clutch, i'd rather not waste my time with it

oh, and another thing. as it's an automatic, if there isn't one already, be sure to purchase an external transmission cooler, and bypass the one that is in the radiator.
