so by looking at the specs my guess is ur looking for more torque across the rv range? will the valve springs be able to cope?

got a price on the driveshaft today for a s/h they want $165 and when i went to pick it up it had a gouge near thr g/box end looks like someone tried to open it with a grinder seriously guys thanks for the advice and support.

+1 a service manual would help me no end if i coulkd find one here. anyone can help would be grateful.

when i pulled the shaft out the seal wasn't leaking and no signs of oil around it so i may have been lucky on that, is it a major job replacing the seal?

i think the correct term is it humped me good........ and without lube.was a very slow trip home as anything over 40kph the vibes shook so violently i thought i was inside a blender.

lol yeah that crack happened when i was hit by a flying rock on the road bout 6 days ago. all good though as i needed to replace it anyways as a wiper scratched it. the car will be blue plated for everything that will be done to it. im currently designing a carrier for the roof that mounts off the side steps and connects with the bullbar.

yeah can do the work myself and i have a workshop in my shed with hoists, lathe, welders galore, presses so tools are all good. my engineer will sign off as long as i have done it properly. i get all parts,tools and material at trade prices (cheap as ) so yeah will be doing it over a few months.

ok as i have said i am new to this well my pathy anyway i only ever used it for a fishing trip/hunting and was really good, just need more power lol. i have even considered doing a performance build on the z24 just to keep it all together but yeah dunno how the engine would last. the stock one that was in it had 371k and never missed a beat just slow.

Damn, that's more motor than I expected!! Since you are going the other route, are you staying with the stock pusher?? B nah the z24 is gone. pulled out this morn. i will be trying ti find a conversion to allow me to keep 4x4 when it goes v8.

hey cyril yeah its still ulp. our mod laws must be diff from urs down there, he told me that i would need diff suspension rates and a major brake upgrade for a blue plate as well as a few other areas but legally i can do it. but i found this morn a supercharged six out of a calais so might look at that route.

well i have 2 motors sitting in my shed 1 is an injected 5lt v8 from our holden commodore and the other is an ls1. so i'm leaning towards the ls1 as i can do the comversion legally here.i know i'll lose 4wd but it's going to be turned into a low rider showcar. so when i start on that project i'll put pics up for all to see. i don't think there will be a single are of the car left untouched. anyway i do all the work on cars myself as i have a set up work shop. but as i said i have another project on the go 1st. ill upload a pic for u guys to see what it is. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2152/blackrims.jpg

hey guys cairns here with an 87 2 door z24

Hi guys i'm new as i have only found u guys in the last 24hrs. anyways i have a 87 2 door pathy that i love to death, she's a tough old girl asi have owned her for around 8 yrs. i'll upload a pic soon. so far i have done a 2 inch lift put aftermarket rims on her with a decent audio setup. currently a z24 5 speed but have an engine swap waiting for her.
