  1. The "SE" one I am talking about is the little ones (like 2inches tall) that go on the doors and the tailgate. They sell them individually I believe (seems they can still be bought online through a few places). Sadly the big ones like in my pics aren't available (is why I took a pic of them before I ripped off the decals).

Yup I remember you saying that you had a decal. Though I would still rather have that sweet front grill you have to put on my Hardbody instead

  2. You can get still get the general "SE", "LE", "XE", "V6" and "NISSAN" decals, but like everyone else stated, nothing else.

I wanted to replace the decal package on the side of my Hardbody, but I knew they didn't make them anymore so I took pictures with a tape measure before I ripped them off.

I hope to get the local decal/sign shop place to reproduce them.

  3. Two on each side if you have a suspension lift is what I have read. I got mine aligned right after the lift and they never said anything about that even though I clearly told the mechanic and manager that I had installed two new camber bolts on each side after he told me there would be an extra charge if they were rusted and they had to heat them with torches.

I brought the truck for another alignment after I removed one strut a few months later (as I had to fix something behind it) and while they said that everything was good and it only needed a very slight adjustment, they never said anything to the fact that I should only have one.

I put in two and haven't had any problems.

  4. I wouldn't want one of those. Is just a winch sitting on a brush guard. A brush guard that is not load bearing. Even the OEM brush guard had thicker main supports. Those are paper thin. That thing will get ripped off or very badly bent the first time it is used. If you can't find it anywhere, that is probably because it was a prototype or something. I can't see how those two tiny supports could take over 4000lbs of weight from the truck.

  5. I replaced mine. Bought it through NAPA which was a easy bolt on with no welding needed. Was pretty easy and straight forward: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=25920&view=findpost&p=528542

Go under there with a reciprocating saw and cut it apart to make things easier to remove.

Worst part is removing the studs from the cat's. Mine were rusted solid and I needed to heat them up until they melted off. Looks like you will have to do the same. I didn't replace the cat's as mine were in good shape.

  6. Ebay is your friend. Bought a new set of door locks for my Hardbody with 2 keys for $25. The little yellow clip things can be ordered at Nissan for like $1.50 each.

Though if you are looking for a complete set of locks (including the ignition) so that you have only one key, it will cost you some good money as you will likely not be able to find a used set in good shape. A new complete set is $200 or so.

I don't have a problem with two different keys. Though I would have bought a complete set from the start to have just one key if I would have known my ignition lock would seize up a month after I changed the door locks (requiring that I buy a new ignition lock assembly).

  7. I am not a small guy either (6'1"). I removed the seat bottoms in the back, put down the back seats, advanced the front seats as far as I could, took out ALL the gear in the back and there was not much room in the back. I had to sleep in an angle to fit and it was pretty uncomfortable. Luckily it was just one night. Now with all the gear I have in the back that is impossible.

It is doable, but I would recommend against it unless you really need to sleep in the truck for some reason.

  8. Im slightly annoyed with my girlfriend pointing out that my gauge is spiking everytime she gets in the car

Get a new girlfriend. Problem solved ;)

Sorry, never had the problem. If all else fails, call the local Nissan service place and ask. When I ask they usually have no problem recommending what to do. Though the first recommendation is always to bring it to them to look, but I just make up an excuse like it is my only vehicle and can't bring it in for a while for them to look at it.

  9. Wire them to the original fog light wiring. Like the others have stated, there are relays built into the truck for them. That way you can use the original switch. Why add extra wiring, relays and switches when you can use the original ones? Well unless you plan on doing something fancy with them.

  10. Cost me $80+tax. $20 for 6ft of straight pipe, and $60 for the three elbows ($20 each). So pretty much $100.

Not all of us have the fab skills though bud.

Put a few pieces of pipe together and weld the connections. If I can do it, I am sure most people here could as well. Even if you have a cheap basic welder, you can do it no problem.

If not, you could always use ABS plastic pipe. Still does the same job in the end.

I'd go with the D22 Safari snorkel, primarily because it's so versatile. Second, I've seen it on Dan's (vengeful) R50 and it looked downright awesome. :aok:

Yeah it is the most versatile and looks the best. Problem is the $450US+shipping price tag. I figured that by the time it got here it would have cost nearly $600. I was quoted $80 and $115 shipping by two places. Then add the customs/duties, etc.

  11. Yeah I have seen those cheaper ones on ebay from a company in Malaysia (I believe). They will probably fit, but I wouldn't put too much confidence in them (you get what you pay for). Only problem with fiberglass is that if you hit it hard enough with a branch on a trail or something, it will shatter to pieces. The more expensive plastic ones are made from a high-impact "super" plastic that will flex/bend when hit.

This is the "offical" one made for the first/second gen R50's. It is nick-named "the leech" for a reason. Costs around $350+shipping. 4x4parts.com stocks them:

Then there is the Safari snorkel. The one made for the Navara will fit on our trucks. Actually it will fit on a lot of vehicles. I have seen people put them on WD21's, D21's, R50's, Toyota's, Jeep Cherokee's, etc. It is not a perfect fit, but it seems to work very well. You can order it from most anywhere that sells snorkels. Problem is that it costs $450+shipping:

After that there is custom made.

  12. Yeah the heater in my Hardbody is really, really damn hot. You are sweating bullets after 15-20 minutes of it running. Even on the lowest setting I have to crack the window open to keep things comfortable ;)

  13. Happens sometimes on my truck, usually after a lot of wheeling. I turn the dial, but the lighted diagram in the dash indicating the status just blinks. Once it took 2-3 minutes before it finally went back into 2x4 (but that only happened once). Last wheeling trip in December it only took moving forward 10 feet or so for it to go back into 2x4.

I just do like everyone else and just move forward and reverse 10-15 feet and it usually clicks back in. Might have something to do with the gears getting stuck and not wanting to fully disengage. Don't forget that it is a 10+ year old truck, so it will have its issues.

Only other thing I could suggest is to do a transmission servicing (if you haven't already done it). Dump out all the fluid and change the transmission filter. Might be a tranny issue.

After that the only thing you can do is to bring it to Nissan so that they can plug their fancy computer into it to see if something comes up.

  14. Quite frankly, this is a great item to use to mount skid plates to!! Calling all custom fabbers!! Calling Jackson Autosports!!! Make some skid plates where this bar holds the back of the front plate and the front of the mid plate...

Very true. I had a piece of steel and went under the truck on the weekend to see if I could make my own link and thought to myself "wow, that would be a great place to mount a skid plate to protect the oil pan with". At the very least, it could be used as a brace under a skid plate to make things even stronger.

  15. Hey thanks for the offer, I just picked one up today at Advance Auto for $20. Oh well, strangely my original had two lines attached to it and the new one only had one for the fluid. I just attached the clear on that I had seen at the back and plugged up the other. It seems to work just fine.

The original pumps have two connections. One is for the fluid, and the second is to pull air back into the pump when not in use.
