  1. Thanks alot, saved me from a hit or miss install...I was leanin' on a bigger single, but thought the dual would look trick. Thorely's it is...cheers, lads!
  2. One more for the Eh Team! I'm in Revelstoke, we gotta get wheelin'!
  3. so...are shorty headers available, just lookin' for more flow in the exhaust and thought dual would be the way to go. Any suggestions?
  4. Hey would that Titan V8 shoe-horn its way into a pathy? That would be too kewl if it would werk!
  5. Big sloppy job,eh? Thank God I moved the H-E-double hockey sticks outta that town! Salt on the roads in the quantity they use is murderous to anything on wheels. GO SENS GO!!! What part of O-town are u in,FMI? My buddy's shop is on Montreal Rd.
  6. Anyone got a source for aftermarket tube headers for the 3L V6? Does a X pipe give better flow as compared to an H pipe? Are dual exhausts a waste?
  7. I don't know about the '03s, but I had to disassemble one of mine because the stupid thing would only lock and not unlock. Turned out to be a pin inside slipped and prevented it from functioning properly, that pin was the culprit the first time, a smidgen of silicone to keep the retainer in place has seemed to solve the problem. I said SMIDGEN not GOBS. Lil' dab'l do ya!
  8. Are they electrically controlled like the factory ones or is that function not applicable once you swap em out. I rather like switching from soft to firm at a moments notice
  9. ya, just downloaded it from this forum too. In pinned topics there is a link for a factory service manual.
  10. The other night I went to shift from D to P after a COMPLETE stop, when I hit N and P there was this horrible grinding noise. By standers thought it sounded like my starter, the truck was running so that was negated right away. I had to shut the truck off and then shift to P. When I started it back up it went away and hasn't returned...yet. Was that the shift lock pin not disengaging or something more ominous, the tranny was just rebuilt by a qualified shop. I'd go to them but he is in the hospital undergoin' a triple bypass, so I won't bug him any time soon. Any thoughts as to what to do to fix? Thanks.
  11. If you bash it daily, your Pathy is rebeling! I had a buddy who was hard on everything except for a moped, it wouldn't werk when he got on it! We could drive it all day long, then he'd get on it and it would not co-operate, we'd get back on a go for the rest of the night. Machinery does have a soul...maybe your Pathy's tellin' ya something. LOL sly
  12. Here ya go...this is the functional prototype version 1. Got another way more complicated box in the plans. This one I fab'ed on the week-end, talkin 'bout it got me motivated to try somethin with them, which brings me to my point... be creative in your application, be carefull, and have fun. Sure 4x6 or 5x7 will provide just enough presence, but if you are goin to the trouble of takin' those panels off to change stock speakers, do your self a favor and up grade t the biggest thing you feel compfortable doin, the headroom is well worth it. My 6.5's are good but these 8's are kickin their ass! Next is to put them on a pure 50 watt RMS amp. But that is me, my advice is go bigger than stock, hope I gave you a couple of ideas is all, before someone goes jumpin all over me.
  13. Any week-end, man! Keep your eyes peeled for any full suspension sled, you can get wicked deals, just missed out on a 700 all dun up fer $2500. They are out there. Anywho, keep an eye on your fluid level, I had the idiot lights glarin' at me, and I had just had the rears serviced prior to purchace. I filled the resevoir and solved it. They were completely bled after that thinkin' there might be moisture that frooze durin our cold snap. ABS systems don't like water, lol!
  14. Hey Patty, ya need a lil help with yer basic stuff mechanically, give me a pm and we'll hook up and fix what needs fixin'. Gotta come to Revy though, bring your sled if ya got one...the powder up here is awesome!
  15. I'd have to agree with the above compadre. I have 6.5 Lanzars in the doors now, a spacer (made out of 3/4" ply cut to the shape of the factory one to accomidate the driver) and popping out the grill in my 91 with a little trimming to the panel looks awesome when the grill matches up exactly with the factory trim. However, I am in the process of shoehorning an 8" in an enclosure measuring about 1.3 cu ft. It will run the entire lenght of the door andgo right up to the armrest/handle/window-lock assy. There are a whole bunch of complicated angles and clearance issues to sort out, but I'll keep ya posted if thats ok, cuz those 5x7s of yours will disappoint ya. Oh btw, I'm running a cliff design 12" in a 2.5 cu ft vented box with 200w rms with tweets on the dash and folks around here love how it sounds. One across the street neighbour gave his upstairs tennant crap for have his stereo on so loud. It wuz me testing my system, lol. Hope this'll give you some ideas.
  16. Quite the hack job by the sounds of it, betchya he used duct tape fer somethin' under the dash too. I totally agree with what people have suggested previously when it comes to rewire it. Do it. Do it right, proper connectors etc. Forget about the factory stuff, as the PO has caused some sort of fire danger under there. I've been in a car when the lighter socket wire shorted on another wire. A hell of a lot of TOXIC smoke. @ 70 mph, not too much fun. It is simple to do, take deep breaths and some patience it'll hook up way easier than you think. I just rewired my own after replacing the stock unit. That way you don't hack into the factory stuff. The only adapter you should buy is the antenna one. The factory units were din size (unlike today's newer factory CRAP) and they were descent units to boot (Panasonic i think {Matsu@!*%a?}). Two screws onthe floor kick panel, then 4 on the trim and another 8 around the unit itself. I used the stock chassis mount (a little modified) and it fit like a glove. Hopefully the PO realised the fact the chassis mount is perfect for holding the head unit in place as they are the same dimensions.
  17. I've finally got my new ride in the driveway. A few headaches, a bit stressful, but its here! 91 SE V6, leather/loaded, new tranny, brakes, studded tires and rustproofed! 240k, and is straight as I can tell. Audio soon to be in, as the Big Box (2.5 cu.ft.) fits perfectly and will display the amps sharply. Perfect timing too, cuz the snow, she fallin'!
  18. Are ya that thick frum oil you think Alberta is eastern Canada? At least you guys are savin money in the skewl sistem....
  19. Not too many Albertans will admit to ownin' an import...lol.
  20. By the images in yer gallery, Slick, you live on yer own island too! (planet, maybe)lol
