  1. Anyone ever take the fabric off the seats? Just wondering how hard it is to get off and back on. I've developed a rip in the driver's side seat. It's just the seam that's come apart so some of my mad sewing machine skillz should be able to repair it. I just don't know how hard it is to get the fabric off and back on...or if I should just take it to an upholstery place. Thanks
  2. Oh man I can't begin to tell you how much air tools, PB Blaster and a good breaker bar helps for this job. I rented those same spring compressors from AutoZone ($40 to rent, $40 refunded when you're done). I compressed the first spring manually with a rachet. It took a while but got it done. The second one, I just hit it with the impact wrench and voila, compressed spring in less than a minute. Good luck.
  3. Well, I put in new KYBs this weekend and was trying to install my 1" spacers but I couldn't get the bolts out of the upper mounting plate. How hard are they to get out? I was gonna really hammer on them but I was afraid I might bend the mount and ruin it. Is there an easier way? Could I just grind the bolts off?
  4. Would it be "dumb" to just get lift springs for the front to try to level it out? I'm not gonna run anything larger than a 31 anyway. I only have 30s right now. Are the spring rates of AC and OME different from stock?
  5. Yep, P0156. Should I just replace it? The thing is, I cleared the code once at AutoZone with their computer. It came back on after about 300 miles. Then went off after another 100 miles. Then just came back on. Probably needs to be replaced. Yes, they did do a gas test. HC and CO well within passing values. NOx was bad... 15MPH MAX-MEAS 508-864 25MPH MAX-MEAS 761-813 I have not a clue where to start to try to get these numbers down. Thanks for your help. Rod
  6. StockPathy - Is it the one with 2.25" inlet, 2" dual outlet installed in reverse? This is the one I'm thinking about getting but don't know if the tubing sizes match up to stock. I don't want to lose any torque. I just wanna replace my rusty exhaust with all new stuff. The one I'm thinking about getting is the 12148. Also looked at the 12258 but thought the tubing might be too large and lose too much low end.
  7. Thanks XPLORx4. I went to a test only facility. The back hose of the EGR-BPT was disconnected so I did get that back on. Is replacing the O2 sensor as easy as screwing it in and clipping in the wire harness? Do you think the O2 sensor throwing codes or possibly even being bad cause the high emissions? Thanks for your help.
  8. EGR not connected, failed visual inspection. Is this something the "mechanically challenged" like myself can fix? Also, rear bank O2 sensor throwing errors. Is it related to the EGR problem?
  9. Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll dig around more. My GPS is an in-dash Kenwood and it uses the speed sensor wire to know for sure that the vehicle is moving. It still provides map information without the wire connected but will not do routing. Strange, I know. Oh well. Thanks again.
  10. I have a 96 R50. Does anyone know where I can tap the speed sensor wire for GPS? I did a search here and on Google and only found info for a 2001. The only info I could get was that it was a green\yellow wire connected to the speedo. Anybody know for sure? Thanks
  11. Does anyone know the actual part numbers to the traction bars and upper links? Trying to find out if it's cheaper to buy bushing and pay to have them installed than get the parts and do the install myself. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the info guys. I do have a Sam's Club nearby so I'll check them out. Are Interstate batteries like Optimas? My local Shell station is an Interstate dealer.
  13. Anyone know of lower cost alternative to Optima batteries. I've read Napa and Walmart have house brands but I can't find any info on them.
  14. What condition is the AC lift in? How much would you be asking for it?
  15. Yep, I think poor AM reception is just part of having the diversity antenna. Kenwood unit in my Pathy...awful. Kenwood unit with standard antenna in my Titan...awesome.
  16. Every search I do gets me the KYB which I've read here sux. Any place online I can get the OEM parts for a good price?
  17. I haven't tried them personally but I've read here and on AC site that akebono + brembo rotors work really well. I'm trying to wear out my raybestos quietstops before I try something new.
  18. I wish someone made one for my 96. I can't find anything. Is it that different than the 99?
  19. Ok, well if anyone needs to know...11.2 fits for 96-99 R50. Man, what a headache that was.
  20. The ones I was sent were supposedly the ones for 96-99, but they are 11.2" in diameter and I just need to know if anyone know if these are the right size.
  21. I know this has probably been answered and I searched but I couldn't find it. I need new rotors for my 96 R50. I ordered some from eBay (I know, first mistake) and they are a little more than 11" in diameter. I thought I read somewhere in here that the 96-99.5 R50s used a 10.8" diameter rotor. When I took my tires off, it did seem like the rotors were about 10.8 or so but when I called the place to get the right rotors, they told me that what they sent me is correct, that the 99.5+ R50s used an 11.8" rotor and the 95 and older Pathys used the 10.8" rotor. Can someone please help me?
