  1. Brake pads aren't very old, they have lots left on them. Just checked ther rears and they have at least 60% on the pads.
  2. I think the rotors are ok, slide pins were lubricated. The auto hub may be an idea, but the cv boot was done on that side and they didn't note anything about a bad joint. I'm wondering also about the possibility of crappy brake pads that just won't stop squealing or maybe the brake caliper not releasing fully?
  3. I have a squealing noise which sounds like it from the front right corner. -It happens when the brakes are warm. -It seems to happen more when turning. (might be my imagination) -It happens when I have come to a stop and continues when I start rolling again until I gain some speed. -The noise sounds rotational. Repairs so far: -Cleaned and lubricated brakes and pad retainers multiple times. -De-glazed rotors. -Removed part of dust shields both sides. -Shop repacked wheel bearings both sides and replaced seals. -Today: removed pass. rear brake drum and cleaned and serviced shoe assembly. Noise is still there. I can't figure out what else could squeal. Any ideas??
  4. Well, I was kinda hoping someone would pin it. Thought a little humour might get it noticed.
  5. Get a pic of that installed first, i've seen those kits look pretty bad before.
  6. If you enjoy having paint on your hood, keep it.
  7. Well, just changed the brake pad hardware, and lubricated the caliper slide pins. I also added brake pad "stop squeal" to the back of the pads. Going in on monday to possibly have the brake dust shield cut off. It's in good shape, but who knows. Running out of ideas?
  8. Well, they repacked the wheel bearings and replaced a wheel seal. Nothing. Still squeals. So I bought a new brake hradware kit and brake pad backing stuff. Still nothing, squeals like a mofo. Next is the brake dust shield. Other than that, I can't think of anything that would be rotating and causing a squeal. Also it happens on or off the brakes. usually after I have applied the brake and then it continues to squeal. I can make it worse by turning the steering wheel, usually to the left. Only happens after I have driven around for a while. ????????
  9. Just had mine back in the shop that did my passenger side cv boot and they looked for the squeal. They think it was the dust shields, so he adjusted them a bit. We'll see what happens. I also seviced the front brakes. I'm thinking it might be a combination of things, they mentioned that the drivers side wheel bearing is starting to show signs of wear. I hope I can get this solved cause it's driving me crazy!
  10. Found this link today, also posted in the Garage section. http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f23/fro...download-46290/
  11. Don't know if you have this, but I just found these today, I posted it on the Garage section. http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f23/fro...download-46290/
  12. Found this while looking for manuals from the other pinned topic. This one seems to be current. The links work I mean. http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f23/fro...download-46290/
  13. I'm very interested in this topic, my pathfinder is doing the same thing, but I couldn't figure out how to describe it. I'm going to check the drive shaft dust boot. The sound is coming from under the truck in the front, I think passenger side.I just had the passenger side cv boot replaced, don't know if it has something to do with that, but i've been thinking it's brake related. It also seems to happen more when i make a left turn. It continues to squeal even after I have let off the brake pedal, but then it goes away after I get up to speed(over 20kph or so). It's driving me nuts, do if anyone has any ideas or fixes, it would be greatly appreciated. It's getting embarrasing to pull into parking lots.
  14. Thanks guys, ya they are american racing. I don't think they make those anymore. Oh well, I would still like to see some pics of people wheels, I'm trying to get an idea of what would look good on my pathfinder. I have the champagne color and I was thinking of possibly going with black wheels. If anyone has a pic of the same color pfinder with ANY wheels I would love to see em!
  15. Won't unplugging the O2 give a CEL?
  16. OK fixed the year thing, didn't realize i missed it. Anyways, MAF cleaning didn't seem to change anything. Should I be looking at the O2 sensor? Can you clean an O2 sensor? I also thought of maybe running a fuel injector cleaner through it. Anyone think injector cleaners are worth it? Oh, and the surging is very slight, not very noticeable.
  17. Not too much, I was living in Kelowna, just moved out here this year.
  18. Well, I just cleaned my MAF sensor, thanks to( http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5194 ), but I haven't taken it out yet. Started up nice and fast though. I'll see what happens when I go for a drive.
  19. I just picked up the magnaflow muffler. Got it for $80 at Lordco, on sale till the end of the month. Muffler shop is gonna do 2-1/4" pipe from the cat back.
