  1. So I've been running with the boots cut on my CV joints for a while but it took a weekend of 4bying in silt and long washes for my driverside to grenade on me. Alright not completely fail but its F'd up. I was able to drive home but only in 4HI (not sure exactly why that is) So if I had Manual Hubs I could just unlock them and drive around in 2wd no problem correct? Also I can drive around with no Half-Shafts right? I'm pretty sure I read this but not 100%. I'm getting them replaced (whenever I receive my new shafts in the mail along with my hubs) but I was wondering if it was such a good idea to still be driving around. I'm not on the FWY and I'm still in 4HI. It wasn't too bad for the better part of the week but today its really making alot of racket. SO basically - By me driving around still am I messing things up that I'll have to replace more than just the shafts? What else should I be concerned with?
  2. Hah Ha~! I stand corrected! Anyway this is how far mine stick out with 31x10.5 and 3.75 bs. Image
  3. I have 15x8 with 3.75 bs and they fit fine. I have 1998 Pathy LE you should have seen the stock wheels on this thing it looked like bicycle rims I think there was a member on AC "Matt" that already had the 4.5" lift he had a QX4 and was running 34" tires on 15" wheels.
  4. Alright i'll look into that, yeah maybe it is the acrobat reader. I'm looking to print the Front axle section for now as I have to change both Half-shafts soon and most likely the hubs as well. Probably see me posting questions here in a couple of days. But I've found some good "How To's" so that will be very helpful.
  5. Has anyone downloaded these files for the Manuals and Printed them successfully?? I downloaded them and then needed to down load some software to read them but when I tried printing them.... well the info comes...intermittent. Not sure I explained that correctly but when looking at the printed page theres "lines" through it so it like trying to read something through window blinds. Checked the printer and its fine. Are we not supposed to print these manuals?! Or is it the 'rar' software that I downloaded. It said I'm using the trial version ... but would that matter?>Help!
  6. That brings up another thing - Dean if you pursue getting cams regound I'm assuming you have an idea on Headers (unless you've already changed those out  )
  7. Hmmmmmm reeeaally?! 98Silverpathy - like everyone else I was watching the progress to see what came of it and I'm sorry it never worked out for you and I can only find solace in the possibility that your car, like you explained, had underlying problems before the cams. Anyway bunch of luck to you!
  8. What type of document are those manuals in? I can't seem to open them. Also are these the manufacturer Service manuals?
  9. Eh I just remembered I have heated leather seats in this thing...never use em though. I'll have to agree on the leather seats and summer it sucks driving with no shirt on but other than that .... leathers not soo bad.
  10. :o Ho...ly.....Chit! Dakar Racing huh? I agree those look damn sexy Now I wonder how wide those springs are? (the DAkar ones and the AMR's) cause they look 'skinnier' wouldn't that mean we wouldn't have to worry about the rubing issues with wider tires?
  11. Hell yeah these are some exciting times!! I'm especially digging the SAS topic - would love someone to figure that one out. Too bad I don't have any fabing skills so I can help contribute
  12. Wouldn't that make our rigs alot more heavy then they already are? I mean I thought our rigs are really heavy compared with the XJ thats why its even more of a chore to SAS the R50....no?
  13. Wow if we had a bunch of those in the US going for $6-7K you would see a whole bunch of them modified and trail ready.
  14. I agree with FLApathy, as Nissan 4wheelers we have to be a smaller tight-knit group because of the lack of aftermarket support - and also the fact that we don't do the whole "Jeep Thing". I don't worry about other peoples rigs but my own. We're the underdogs and yeah its frustrating but definitely rewarding when you can do the same trail as the countless Jeeps and Toyotas out there and they have that look like :o "but I have all this stuff on my truck and yours look stock...WTF!" I definitely love that story of the Samurai and the Rubicon. "$35,000 well spent....NOT!" Anyway thats my 2-cents.
  15. RWC5S2, Sick ride! And if you don't wheel it oftened then no biggie. I'll agree with you on the capabilities, the r50 doesn't come across as that capable but it handles way more terrain then I ever thought possible.
  16. Damn I' m running mine at 28Fr 26Rr
  17. Yeah I have a 98 LE and only my hatch door locks when I open my rear window. I wish I had a button on the dash to unlock the window latch-thingy.
  18. Hell yeah these are great days! Finally some attention for us R50 owners! And now BP is willing to help out too.....(sniff) Hats off to everyone who's got a hand in the R&D of aftermarket products for R50's.
  19. Dean, I'm interested in this as well. The 4.5 always seemed high, to me, according to the pictures I've seen but figured this was the "smallest" body lift for an R50 given the complexity. I also thought it was necessary to lift it at least 4.5" because of our steering problems. Meaning a smaller body lift would not allow for a steering solution to fit/connect onto the existing steering - there just wouldn't be any space. I think snowman_fs and Kieth(system_f) talked about that so 4.5" was necessary. BUT....If I'm wrong then ...why 4.5"....?????
  20. I have a 98 Pathy and on the rear diff it has an orange sticker that says "USE ONLY LSD OIL" Its located near the top of the diff cover shouldn't be too hard to find. I can safely assume that if your rig doesn't have that sticker than you don't have the LSD. Hopes this helps.
  21. I got passed by a Mom in a old corolla....does that mean I get my "Man Card" revoked?!
